"natural" wasn't the best word choice; like you said, it just doesn't look weird for some reason and i think that's what i was trying to get at. it's kind of what hlp was saying about how it feels like something that would look costume-y or drag queen-esque but it doesn't look strange when worn with an otherwise pretty bare face, i'm obsessed!

Regarding sparkle brows. They are so delightful. I usually default to “pretty” or “enhancing” makeup and I’ve been getting very bored. Sparkle brows remind me not to take myself too seriously, they’re charming and depending on the glitter size can be as subtle or distracting as you want. I put some on my lashes too when I really want to commit. I especially love trends like this on more mature makeup wearers cause it adds an element of “I’m not a child and I still play with glitter therefore I am awesome” à la CS Lewis’ “someday you will be old enough to start reading fairytales again” ✨

Weirdly, I think the glitter brows are giving the same kind of energy as a really glittery eyeshadow, or a crazy statement lip, or intense blush draping. Clearly dramatic and avant-garde, but totally inoffensive and wearable paired with the more natural makeup on the other parts of the face. I kind of can't believe it's taken us all this long to give it a fair shake 😂
I've been a long time fan of the bedazzled/ glitter brow! If you want to get your slayfire back to it's original state, add a little aloe vera! If you don't want to add it to the pot, it can be done on a mixing tray. I have so so many glitter gels in pots & the aloe is an incredible tool for rehydrating them. Love the look Hannah! I am here for these trends esp since they're all stuff I already do! 🕺✨

ELF made a silver holo, glitter brow gel a few years ago, as part of a collab w/a few musicians. Tove Lo wanted the glitter brows, & rocked them on the cover of one of her EPs, along w/in the ELF campaign photos. It's definitely copacetic w/her neo-disco meets hyper-pop "Queen of the Clouds" stage persona, & personal style.
I have loved occasionally tapping an iridescent, glittery shadow on the front part of my brows, so I am totally here for this trend! I'm also kinda obsessed with how that hot hot pink blush looked on the model, but I certainly do not have the confidence to rock a blush drape to that extreme.

The eyeshadow and color under your eye is incredible with your hair. I think what makes it looks so stunning with that "can't stop looking at" look is from how much those colors are so close to your hair color - Each playing off of one another, so vivacious!

Hold up, Allure! As someone who applied makeup in the 90s, albeit haphazardly and rookieishly as a young teenager, I don't remember "fresh skin" being The Thing. Maybe it's because I hung out with a bunch of goths, metalheads, "grunge" kids, ravers, and hippies? (okay, the hippies? *They* were definitely into the no-makeup look. Maybe they'd rock doodle-y eyeliner, glitter, or face paint/jewels, but no foundation; that was a huge hippie faux pas). Most of those groups aren't typically known for being into "natural" makeup. From what I remember, everything was MATTE, skin-wise. 🎶Matte, matte, matte, matte, numbuuhh woo-uh-huuuunnnn...🎶* *That's a little Type O joke for all you 90s goth chicks out there. There was that thick cream foundation that came in a rectangular compact, which you applied with the proffered square of soon-filthy sponge. Powder foundation was all the rage, too. I knew tons of people who layered *both* of those products all over their entire faces, in the lightest shade available, regardless of their natural skintone. Then, there were those skinny-black-tubed Revlon longwear lipsticks? *Shudder*! Those were implements of dry, dry, chunky, clay-like lip-torture!! However, I'm now actually flashing back to those CKOne double page ads in magazines, and the models all seemed to be wearing minimal base makeup. Perhaps that's what Allure is referencing? Calvin Klein and his ilk were anethema to myself and mine. They were beloved by the jocks and twinkies who tortured us, and therefore also worn their redneck boy/girlfriends. I stayed as far away from that stuff as humanly possible. Anything expensive, with brand names splashed across it was avoided like the plague. I shopped almost exclusively at thrift stores, or wore hand-me-downs from family/friends of family/friends. I bought my underwear and socks from Field's, and wore surplus combat boots from age 12 until my early 20s. My one CG powder compact, which had long since hit hardpan, broke in my backpack and had to be tossed out. I think I used the same powder compact from 13 to 17 years of age. I was a different colour every 2 months or so. While I didn't realize it at the time, writing this makes me realize I actually DID rock the clean skin look in the 90s, and into the 2000's. Huh. Interesting. It wasn't due to any magazines, nor was it planned out in any way. I just kinda did what I did, y'know? Whew. This essay gives me life! I turned 15 at fin de siecle so thin brows, dream matte mousse, frosted eyeshadow and lipgloss were the fashion - thankfully bypassed it altogether because I was more interested in getting out of high school and the small town I grew up in! My brows are eternally grateful 😂 I do remember shiseido compact foundation being my go-to at my first job - the kind you wet with a sponge and paint on - I have no idea if my memory of how good it looked is accurate or not given the haze of 20 years…..
I really like the way everything looks on you. I'm just not a "trend" person LOL and don't think I'll ever be on board with glitter brows or shaped differently brows. Also, I think there is a fine line between "glowy" and "sweaty" looking skin. Yours looks great, but when I try to look glowy, I just can't. It just looks sweaty on me, LOL! But I'm never on trend, so it's okay. Seriously though, you look stunning and it was fun to watch.
I love the glitter brows! They are very wearable the way you did them, and I think they pick up your glittery greys in the most amazing and beautiful way. I definitely feel inspired to try.
I did like to adorn the upper tips and inner tops of my ears with the DM Infinite chrome flakes over the holidays, a little glitter glitter, a little spangle dangle that perhaps no one noticed, but me, made my inside fairy ♥ glimmer~~ best use of that product, if you ask me. I am so down for lived in eyes and real skin ~~ already on my to do dailies. No shopping for me in any of the categories! Yeah! Plus low buy, yo.
Your dislike of skin tints has me considering why I like them so much! I’m rarely around people who wear much makeup so I’m sensitive to looking overly made up, but the real thing is that I’m not good enough at doing my makeup to properly blend higher coverage products the way you do. But I CAN blend concealer in places I need more coverage over a skin tint in a way that helps me keep things looking well-meshed. Also I just got the biggest sense of deja vu-have I posted this exact thing here recently or is this just my brain trying to function while recovering from a brutal stomach virus? Regardless-your older videos have kept me great company while in bed feeling miserable ❤
It really is interesting to me how much your eyebrows can really change how your face looks. The lighter brow (irrespective of the glitter) really does make a difference.
I've had eczema my entire life. Therefore, I have been slathering my face with Vaseline for the wet look, siting different runway shows throughout the years. "It's so editorial, you don't understand the look!" Ha! The only issue is hair sticking to the face; top knot for the win. I loved your glitter brows!

I 💛 BIG FAT lashes with tons of mascara layered on. In my 20s I would apply mascara sparingly, and then I met the woman of all lashes - Darcy. Darcy was like, no girl, more. You always need more mascara. And here I am, twenty years later still layering it on. Much like my skinny jeans and side part, I may never change..the trend comes back around! 💛💛💛

I naturally have kind of a purple shadow on my eyes. I have been using this to even out the purple tone and lean in. It looks like the lived in grungy eye that you showed as the example. I had no idea I was so trend forward!
I love bedazzled brows and wet face looks both. I also love painting dark circles underneath my eyes on purpose instead of concealing. I love looking like a ghost-ish lol. Love spider lashes too like old fiberwig lol. I'd not wear bright vinyl lips. Love the look you made!

For me, 2023 will be all about sparkly brows and no mascara! I’ve been wanting to do sparkle brows for a long time and literally wear it to my job at the hospital. I’m with you that it’s surprisingly wearable!
I bleached my brows at some point to flanker a bleach bowl cut. It was a look. I loved having bleached brows for about a week then I started hating it and if you color you brows again you will get a very strong color because bleach pick up color differently than natural hair. Just something to notice. I love these trends. I feel they are right up my street.
Love the skin and the eyes, Lived through the 1990's as a teen and will be doing the eyes alot. Don't own any glitter and want buy any just to try it in my thinner brows. Will be playing with poppy blushes (already have some in my blush palletes) am pale as well, so will just be haevy handed. A dab of Chanel Sublimage le teint foundation A half squirt of Chantecaille just skin A half pump of Fenty Pearl Swirl body sauce A dollop of Nyx mix in white color corrector And a drop of purito bb cream The proportions vary dependent on my tan or lack thereof Sounds nuts but it is so lovely. I love mixing my own base ❤️ for my own face 😜
About Face has a really great glitter brow gel product, and I agree--surprisingly wearable! Like a little secret glam that isn't overtly OTT & doesn't feel like you're trying too hard to be edgy or something.

As someone with quite severe rosacea the bare skin look won't be happening for me, but having overplucked my blonde, fine, eyebrows in my teens, a smudgy eye with pale brows is fine with me (particularly as drawing my brows in takes forever). The "trends" come in useful sometimes!

I tweezed the crap outta them, but still following my natural arch. I couldn't rock the super cool-girl skinny brows of the day. I had 2 eye pencils: one brown, one black, and one of the aforesaid hideous skinny tube of Revlon longwear lipstick in a deep brown (Coffee Bean, perhaps?). I also had a small collection of Clinique Free Gift With Purchase lipsticks and blushes from my skincare-obsessed grandma.
The place I went nuts was my hair. I was a different colour every 2 months or so.
While I didn't realize it at the time, writing this makes me realize I actually DID rock the clean skin look in the 90s, and into the 2000's. Huh. Interesting. It wasn't due to any magazines, nor was it planned out in any way. I just kinda did what I did, y'know?
Whew. This became a total essay that came around full circle to totally contradict myself. Bravo, Pithy! 🤣

This essay gives me life! I turned 15 at fin de siecle so thin brows, dream matte mousse, frosted eyeshadow and lipgloss were the fashion - thankfully bypassed it altogether because I was more interested in getting out of high school and the small town I grew up in! My brows are eternally grateful 😂 I do remember shiseido compact foundation being my go-to at my first job - the kind you wet with a sponge and paint on - I have no idea if my memory of how good it looked is accurate or not given the haze of 20 years…..

I really like the way everything looks on you. I'm just not a "trend" person LOL and don't think I'll ever be on board with glitter brows or shaped differently brows. Also, I think there is a fine line between "glowy" and "sweaty" looking skin. Yours looks great, but when I try to look glowy, I just can't. It just looks sweaty on me, LOL! But I'm never on trend, so it's okay. Seriously though, you look stunning and it was fun to watch.

I did like to adorn the upper tips and inner tops of my ears with the DM Infinite chrome flakes over the holidays, a little glitter glitter, a little spangle dangle that perhaps no one noticed, but me, made my inside fairy ♥ glimmer~~ best use of that product, if you ask me.

Your dislike of skin tints has me considering why I like them so much! I’m rarely around people who wear much makeup so I’m sensitive to looking overly made up, but the real thing is that I’m not good enough at doing my makeup to properly blend higher coverage products the way you do. But I CAN blend concealer in places I need more coverage over a skin tint in a way that helps me keep things looking well-meshed.
Also I just got the biggest sense of deja vu-have I posted this exact thing here recently or is this just my brain trying to function while recovering from a brutal stomach virus? Regardless-your older videos have kept me great company while in bed feeling miserable ❤

It really is interesting to me how much your eyebrows can really change how your face looks. The lighter brow (irrespective of the glitter) really does make a difference.
I've had eczema my entire life. Therefore, I have been slathering my face with Vaseline for the wet look, siting different runway shows throughout the years. "It's so editorial, you don't understand the look!" Ha! The only issue is hair sticking to the face; top knot for the win. I loved your glitter brows!

I 💛 BIG FAT lashes with tons of mascara layered on. In my 20s I would apply mascara sparingly, and then I met the woman of all lashes - Darcy. Darcy was like, no girl, more. You always need more mascara. And here I am, twenty years later still layering it on. Much like my skinny jeans and side part, I may never change..the trend comes back around! 💛💛💛

Over Christmas, I received a Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in plum. I naturally have kind of a purple shadow on my eyes. I have been using this to even out the purple tone and lean in. It looks like the lived in grungy eye that you showed as the example. I had no idea I was so trend forward!

I love bedazzled brows and wet face looks both. I also love painting dark circles underneath my eyes on purpose instead of concealing. I love looking like a ghost-ish lol. Love spider lashes too like old fiberwig lol. I'd not wear bright vinyl lips.

I’m here for these trends they are very current, I find a lot of trends don’t translate off the runway in a realistic “wearable way” but it seems many of these trends have been catching on for a while now.

I bleached my brows at some point to flanker a bleach bowl cut. It was a look.
I loved having bleached brows for about a week then I started hating it and if you color you brows again you will get a very strong color because bleach pick up color differently than natural hair.

Love the skin and the eyes, Lived through the 1990's as a teen and will be doing the eyes alot. Don't own any glitter and want buy any just to try it in my thinner brows. Will be playing with poppy blushes (already have some in my blush palletes) am pale as well, so will just be haevy handed. As colour block eyes I love colour and look forward to useing all the shadows I have. Thank you for the fun and playful video.

A dab of Chanel Sublimage le teint foundation
A half squirt of Chantecaille just skin
A half pump of Fenty Pearl Swirl body sauce
A dollop of Nyx mix in white color corrector
And a drop of purito bb cream
The proportions vary dependent on my tan or lack thereof

About Face has a really great glitter brow gel product, and I agree--surprisingly wearable! Like a little secret glam that isn't overtly OTT & doesn't feel like you're trying too hard to be edgy or something.

As someone with quite severe rosacea the bare skin look won't be happening for me, but having overplucked my blonde, fine, eyebrows in my teens, a smudgy eye with pale brows is fine with me (particularly as drawing my brows in takes forever). The "trends" come in useful sometimes!
