I bought that Alpha reel the same day it got hurt I think I didn’t regulate it and when I picked it up it got tangled up and didn’t roll up again normal I’m a rookie some recommendation with video that you can give me on how to give it correctly thank you
Use your thumb bro thats the biggest thing i can tell you apply enough pressure so you dont backlash (it getting tangled up) and as you get better you can ease off and cast further. Once you learn how its super rewarding.
For a cheap reel these are decent and hold up well . Ive had one for over 8 years and just had to retire it . I had it on a 6 foor ugly stick and used it for smaller fish .
@@FishingSetFree yeah I finally had to retire it. It didn't really break per say but it's just clapped out . I have another one just like it same gx2 ugly stick combo that I started using. I picked both of them up for like 30 bucks I use them as my crappie and pan fish rigs . I have a much nicer rig for my bass and white bass I use but for the price I'd say it's decent enough definitely got my money's worth from it now it's time to see how long the other will last it's basically brand new still . Definitely rugged enough I'm not easy on my equipment but I do keep everything clean and well oiled but other than that I'm pretty rough on my equipment I fish alot of rocky areas and alot of sandy places and in all kind of weather .
@@miztatone918 same, the internals are super easy to clean on that one. Sand is a killer 🤦♂ i would personally tell ppl to get a 100 dollar combo if they’re serious abt fishing but if they just want to try out bait casting and feel the waters its perfect imo

I have 2 12 foot combos for catfishing one is about 150 bucks and the other around 200 then my bass pole was around 120 bucks I use the Shakespeare just as a crappie and panfish rig nice poles are definitely a must especially as much as I fish but I like that Shakespeare because I can throw a bobber and minnow or worm on and don't have to worry if I'm not watching it and it goes in the water lol . I almost lost it tonight in fact had no idea a fish was on it I was down bank throwing a lure on my other rod and it about got yanked in by a little 3 lb flathead haha . Luckily my wife grabbed it in time but had it gone it it wouldn't have been the end of the world.
