Hi. I am restarting my hair journey because I tried the "short hair don't care" for 2 years. I'm excited and also happy to see your videos in my feed again 🤗
My goal is just try to be consistent and healthy. I no longer deep condition or use products marketed as such and I never thought my hair would reach waist length. I too need to keep up with quarterly if not trims 3x/year. I am also trying to shop my stash, there are products from previous BFs that I have to get through..trying to be better at spending. Your hair looks amazing! My hair goals for 2025 are to FINALLY grow my hair out to my goal length and wear it in wngs after years of chronic dehydration.
I have no length goal either. I have decided to enjoy my hair at all stages, including where I currently am and be grateful for my crown.

I plan on continuing my routine since it is working for me. I recently came across some information that rinse out and moisturizing deep conditioners aren’t that different. I think i will use them interchangeably and keep my protein routine the same. My hair is healthy but we’ll see how it goes. Hope 2025 everyone reaches their hair goals ❤.
Happy New Year! I do have a hair goal because I recovering from low Vitamin D and Iron/Ferritin levels. I keep my reggie pretty simple as I always have since my damage was an internal issue.

I changed mine recently to every 4 months from every 3 months. My last haircut in 2023 was a 4month cut.
Try a regular scarf for compression and length! That’s what I do. If your hair is in a wash n go, Take the scarf and fold it in an a triangle. Stagger it so you can have the back longer, tie the sides of the scarf around your neck with the shorter staggered side on the inside facing your neck. Make sure when you tie it the hole you make around your neck is large enough for your head to pull through but snug. Once you get the right size make sure you pull both ends of the staggered scarf over your head. It should look like you tied your hair down with a scarf traditionally but it should be snug. Once you do this take the ends of the long scarf hanging now in the back and you can make a knot on the end or use your bonnet like you do with your tube. I hope this made sense and helps

@ really? It’s pretty snug when I do it.. to the point where I have to loosen it after setting. Did you mean compression along the whole length of the hair?
I’m good with the compression from the scarf. It’s why I switched back to it. I wasn’t getting enough compression from what I was doing for a while before returning to the scarf - the hair tube.
@@WhatTheKinkooo around 8:30 I thought you were looking for something with length and compression. I think I misunderstood, you mean a tube. The don’t think that type of design will give you what you desire because there isn’t a tightening mechanism. The elastic ones will lose their stretch over time. But who knows maybe someone will invent something in the future

Happy New Year! 🎉 You're right. My hair lands around the shoulders stretched and I like the options I have with styling. I also like where it sits for wash and goes and twists (like a cheek to chin length bob depending). But, I will try to be less scissor happy this year and see what sort of length I can retain.

I big chopped this year and my ultimate goal is bra strap length stretched. I don't see any reason or benefits of having longer hair. My prediction is that length will give me a shoulder-length braidout. We’ll see!

Same length, more shrinkage…The length your hair was before included ends that needed to be cut, affecting your elasticity appearing longer. Now your ends are healthier, improved elasticity thus more shrinkage.

For the base gel, I would recommend Entwines hair gel. It's vegan, botanical and black owned. I'm really interested in your opinion on it. Their leave in is also lightweight and hydrating ime. I DO NOT own the company or anything lol
Unless it’s just a temporary fluke, their site is down. However, they did have a death in their leadership team according to their IG.

Happy New Year Kayla! 👋🏽 You mentioned that you use an all-purpose shampoo. Do you also incorporate a moisturizing shampoo? Or do you feel the all-purpose shampoo is sufficient for your hair needs? I'm curious. Because my hair feels dehydrated if I don't follow an all-purpose shampoo (1st lather) with a moisturizing shampoo (2nd lather).
Just a single shampoo. We use Giovanni 50 : 50. It has the right balance that cleanses but doesn’t leave the hair feeling stripped.
