- Our toilet started to take 10+ minutes to refill after each flush. After doing a bit of troubleshooting we discovered the disc shut off seal (I refer to it as a diaphragm in the video) had become brittle and broken after years of use. After replacing the toilet fill valve it’s as good as new! This was a very inexpensive (less than $15), quick diy repair.

Your video on this repair is the best one on UA-cam! I took my valve apart after watching your video and noticed that the small, plastic flow regulator seemed to be out of place. I placed it where it belongs, reassembled the valve, turned the water back on and tested for leaks. No leaks and no more continuous filling of the bowl after flushing. The total repair cost was $0.00, but I'm ordering the replacement valve now to have it on hand when it's eventually needed. Thank you!

I have the same problem (after almost 10 years) and have ordered the valve. Such a simple operating toilet and I like it except for the huge tank on it. Works just like dumping a bucket of water in the toilet.

It's 4am and after I flush my toilet it just starts SCREAAMING like loud death grinding and I just had to let it run till it filled up. Thanks to you I know its the fill valve and I'm boutta replace that puppy for less than 20 bucks

I had a similar issue, but the diaphragm isn’t split. I think it’s just misshaped from age. While waiting for the replacement part, I did notice that a temporary fix is to turn off the water source and then turn it back on between flushes. For some reason the sudden rush of pressure causes my toilet to fill properly until the swing arm stops it from filling. Results may vary however!

Hi! I’m not sure if you can purchase it separately. I was able to get the entire fill valve online for around $14 with tax.

Could have just bought the fluidmaster seal for $2.50 and changed the seal.
