I'm in the process of installing a 3.5" Lift kit. Noticed that the pads are in need of replacing. Your video is very well done, unformative and well procedured Not a whole lot of unnecessary talk but rather concise and to the point. We'll done! 😉👍
Great video Admiral 👍👍FYI last year when I did my breaks and rotors I got these Evolution rotors they where 50$ a piece 20$ more then the regular ones I highly recommend them 👍👍
If I wanted to change only the rotors out, all I have to do is undo the two bolts to the caliper, slap the rotors on and reinstall the 2 bolts and done? Thank you in advance brother..
Excellent video, what brand pads did you used? Ceramic or Semi Metallic? Just curious, I have a 2000 XJ and it requires more than usual pedal pressure to stop and more as its coming to a full stop.
Shouldn't you tell everyone to siphon out brake fluid and remove resevoir cap BEFORE YOU COMPRESS CALIPER PISTON so whrn you compress piston with c-clamp you don't blow your master brake seals and ruin the master cylinder....
I’ve been having some issues with my front brakes to where they feel like I’m stepping on the brake pedal without stepping on the brake pad. I’ve been looking up videos on my specific issue, but I can’t seem to find anything. It happens a lot when I turn and I’ve been told it could be because I need some grease on the caliper or the steering knuckle. Have you had this issue before?
Admiral Off-Road yes, I replaced everything in the rear and bled the system after that was done. Originally I thought that’s all I needed to do. After checking on the Cherokee discussion I asked some people there and they said it could be the wheel knuckle being gouged and damaged, checked that and it was fine. It’s to the point where I can be cutting the wheel from reversing or while I’m in drive and the brakes feel like they’re actuating. I have reason to believe it’s the rubber hoses, but I’m just not 100%

Great video. Concise and to the point, and informative. Thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this. Next weekend I was planning on doing a brake job and this helped me learn alot
Could you please post the link to the brake pads you purchased?

You must be in country without salted roads. Very clean XJ underneath.
Yep, no snow in Phoenix
Admiral Off-Road lol I’m in Phoenix as well. Just dust is all we’re concerned with.
Great video, currently working on my brakes. I had success with right side, however can't seem to remove my left rotor! Any advice to removal?
penetrating oil and heat (not at the same time) will usually do the trick.
I thought u had to put anti sieze on the bolts and not lock tite. So as to make getting the bolts out easier next time.
Muito bom... faz o trabalho ficar fácil!!
Very good video, thanks.
Thank you!
Very good video. Could you do an updated walk around video on the jeep?
I might do one in the future. I have a few more projects I'd like to get done on it first

i think they were semi metallic duralast
1DavidStarr1 I came here for the reason
I'm new to this. Where is it safe to jack up the Jeep when I do this?
Very helpful 👍👌
glad to hear it!
Question : What size C Clamp are using in this video ! An 8 inch maybe ?
You should specify what year. My '89 has a different setup.
Nice work!
thanks!
good video
thanks!
I have done a thousand brake jobs and if you don't have a c clamp use a large pair of chanellocks
Are the disk brakes the same on all xjs?
Where do you place the jack and stands
Sub frame usually, but if you're careful you can use the axle.
do you use torque wrenches to tighten your wheels or no
no, I check them with a lug wrench though

I know its not about brakes but how do you like your spartan rear locker
Its an Aussie, but I love it. I've driven on it every day for a few years without issue.

I haven’t. Are you feeling pressure at the pedal but not slowing down?

Admiral Off-Road for a time they were spongey, but after bleeding I regained pressure
Admiral Off-Road and now I slow down
You dont live in Iowa.. no rust
I'm gonna change your rotor ;)
Amy Holiday he's married Amy! 😂
