Yeah the time has come, Gens has been pretty much completely reforged into Sonic Unleashed. At this point Sonic Gens S H O U L D have originally been a Sonic Unleashed remaster
If you're an Unleashed master you can tell that it's Gens from the Unleashed title. And so many other minor things. But, yeah, still an achievement. This mod went so far that there's no major differences! Except the Interceptor:( ,the stomp button, some different ring replacements and different enemy replacements that's it.
I can still tell it’s Generations for several reasons: 1) Enemies don’t ragdoll the same way they did in Unleashed. In that game, they tumbled on the floor for a few seconds before exploding. In Gens, they get launched on a set path before instantly blowing up. 2) Several Unleashed enemies are missing such as the shielded variants of the Egg Fighters and the Flamethrowers. 3) Unleashed had a unique shader that made the game glow with some extra bloom. In Gens it’s very low and hardly noticeable. 4) The mud in Savannah Citadel doesn’t have the UI warning you about it 5) The drum springs in Savannah Citadel sound louder as their audio hasn’t been adjusted. 6) EXP counter doesn’t show up when it’s collected. 7) The fireworks in Chun-Nan still don’t work. 8) Still no giant robot chase at the end of Dragon Road or in one section of Jungle Joyride.
I can see a lot of these things being properly ported in the future aside from the robot chase and ragdolling due to the amount of coding needed to do so
I mean, I consider Sonic Generations to be a better and improved Sonic Unleashed Daytime Stages once you make the game into Sonic Unleashed. But do you want a reward for saying "This is what's missing in the game" like... It's just small nitpicks.
I don't think that's possible, plenty of stuff to implement, and I don't think boost Sonic has anything like Werehog's stretchy arms. There are nightime Unleashed stages mods for Gens but it's rough, tried one and uninstalled it in 3 minutes.
We can argue whether or not Unleashed is a good or mid game, but we can all agree the work to make this mod look like the source material deserves some serious praise

It won’t ever be complete in my eyes. Not unless the Night Stages and Eggmanland get ported. But considering how many people hate Werehog Sonic by default, it probably will never happen, unfortunately…
we really need a native PC port of Unleashed so modders can get to work on it! I'm also one of those who thinks the Werehog stages have a lot of positive aspects and can be salvaged with relatively few tweaks (modders of the Xenia XB360 version have already done great work on this!)
Its a shame because Im actually a Huge fan of the werehog Love the combat and how vast and satisfying it is to pull combos and the platforming is sloe but challenging and fun Wish more people appreciated it

Am i gonna assume they're not making the werehog stages, tho? I know some elitists hate it but most actual Sonic Unleashed fans I've met enjoy the werehog stages and think they are important.
Generations is the best game overall but Unleashed has the best of the best modern stages. I wish they reused this feeling of speed in Frontiers but I hear that its mostly due to the FOV of the game.
Since Sonic X Shadow Generations comes out soon, Sonic Fans can do what ever they want to make Unleashed playable with Day and Night on Gemeration's Engine (If they don't deleat it from steam) even though it's the same "Hedgehog Engine"
YES, there is already a Eggman land mod for generations but u play as morden sonic through the whole stage so we need werehog working first though it would be nice
happy with the progress wish em the best, but aside from bosses and werehog, this game lacks the interceptor, and the physics are so diferent, you also do not get the timed boost at the start , IMPRESSIVE work , but far from unleashed

I won’t say never because there is a WIP Werehog mod that’s being worked on (Eggmanland did get ported, but the night time elements aren’t present).
