First of all, her vocal tone changed between 1966 and 1989; it became twangy. Secondly, she shouted some lines in the original version (such as "And it gets stronger").

Agree from the most sacred place of my soul, but the most important from Tina, is that her, after being abused and humiliated for the father of your son, she had the capacity of in middle of the night, without money, only with a gasoline card, left the past behind and without remorse and regret, open the new door of the life, and with hard sacrifice, discipline and responsibility get to convert in an eternal legend, and only can say, thank you sweet Queen, but thanks to you my life change totally and today I am a happy and realized guy, eternally thank you so much Tina.

@@skepchica yes she fled with all 4boys 2 she adopted that Ike Turner had by other women She had to make a stable home Ike Turner did try to get her back he would threaten to take the kids or he sent people to harras her and the kids for not coming back to him she worked not only because she loved it but it was also all she knew was singing so yes not sure what you are saying about her but she also did this to keep 4 boys fedanda roof over their heads and clothes on them but she also had a dream of her own that didn't make her a bad person or bad mom she provided for and loved and protected her 4 boys and if she wanted to be home more when she was with Ike Turner she had no say even getting married he didn't ask her all romantic probably more like this is what's happening and that's it. The first beating she got was before they married and we're just friends Ike wanted more . Well he started feeling up on her which was weird to her because she thought of him as more like a brother well he left the room and she said to a woman who worked for Ike she says I don't want to do this she knew what he was wanting and this person goes to Ike Turner tells him what she said she was still Anna Mae at this point I believe. Anywho long story short Ike comes back into the room he is pissed he says to Anna Mae what are you trying to do to me then the beating she said he used a wooden shoe stretcher the thing used to measure feet then when he's done beating her bloody and whatnot he demands . "Now Get In That Bed ." She's stunned and confused still poor girl but she has to obey now she has seen fully this side of the man she thought of as her friend so what gives anyone the right to question the statement her kids came first even after the boys were grown she financially supported the 2 she adopted Ike Turner Jr's released statement was a bit unfair I don't remember if he got on drugs In his life I forgot why but the younger one Michael Turner is in a facility where he's taken care of Jr might have been the one who said I love her I just needed to live on my own like ok it's not her fault then and if anyone is to blame for Ike Turner Jr's struggles with drugs its not Tina Turner that woman spent the last couple of years trying to deal with her own severe health struggles 1st she had a mild stroke 3 months after she married Earwin then in 2016 intestinal cancer comes knocking then her kidneys start to fail in 2017 Earwin donated his kidney to his beloved I read it got to the point where she was looking at finding a place where assisted suicide is legal and that's when Earwin steps in and said I am not losing you or not ready to lose you or let you go whatever wording he used it was beautiful. Well after the transplant she was with us 6 more years🌺I am sure she was not just ignoring her 2 other sons. Speaking of that she also lost 2 sons Craig who she had by musician Raymond Hill when she was 18 and the biological son she had with Ike Turner his name is Ronnie he died from Cancer age 62 in 2022. Craig Turner was 58 when he shot himself in the head in 2018.

Indeed, Tina was absolutely astounding in this live Rock & Roll Hall of Fame appearance. HOWEVER, fact is, the first & original version, was Phil Spector's production of it in 1966 with Tina on lead vocal, with Spector's infamous trademark of the "Wall Of Sound". She & Ike Turner re-recorded their own version in late 1973, which had their very own unique & customized, thick groove of Soul/Funk/R&B brand to it.

I gotta poke you a bit...I would suggest it is less a matter of talent and more a matter of opportunity and brutally hard work. She started her career singing for Ike when she was 17...by the time "RDMH" came out she had been on the circuit for nearly ten years. What she went through to get that damn good probably wouldn't be tolerated nowadays. There are a ton of really talented musicians...vocalists, instrumentalists...out there right now, working college bars, playing church festivals and fairs. As far as the musicians who are more studio oriented, you have to listen to them with different ears...just as you watching TV and movies is different from live theater. One isn't better than the other, they are just different.

Then as she has stated, regardless of her immense talent, it was a time when women in DV circumstances who removed themselves & their children, over & above ethnicity, were frowned upon as if they were not the victims🤬 I don't blame her for feeling betrayed by America after leaving that jealous monster of a man Ike...Tina worked her A** off with him & after him in a time women being submissive to a man's will!!! Whether it be personal or in business, especially still during an era where blacks treated through another setb of rules more discriminating than women in general. Unbelievable today, but when I divorced during the 70's people didn't place blame on the man bc men earning were completely out of balance...even to the point that all my credit cards were canceled then I reapplied to only be denied🤬 who did they think worked & paid those monthly pymts to gain this credit rating...NOT him...I divorced the selfish, self-centered narcissistic abuser. But those were the days of Harper Valley PTA where you were looked at as a loose woman if you dare leave your marriage. People said to me, "you had it all, why did you leave him?" Obviously, they couldn't see behind closed doors🤔 Even more so for women of color, she had no $$ & few places to turn bc her barriers were higher than mine🤨 being of color her means of shelter were fewer due to the racial discrimination being at peak. People of color could play the clubs, have overwhelming popular, but were restricted from the amenities known to other cultures🤬 women's shelters were non-existent...zero DV hot lines...even in divorce court women in general were subjected to misogynistic decisions against them!!! It's unfathomable in the world in which we live today, but we still have sexual & racist goals to achieve...improved it is,, but actually it's quite in need of equalizing big government ...

For me now it's a celebration of her whole life in 4 minutes - she experienced so much grief and overcame so much hardship even after hitting the big time. RIP Tina Turner we love you and we miss you terribly.

When I was young, some people (probably not rock fans?) would judge Tina T. and I had no idea. I would say that she was a hero of mine and these guys would stare at me like "you're kidding." I hope that they've grown up now and see what I saw: a large, beautiful life force giving us over and over the gift of her singing.

I saw her solo show around this time ( 1989 or 1990 ). I've seen alot of live show from all types of artists and QUEEN TINA was the absolute best performance I have ever seen. She was in the 6 inch stilettos and about 6 different mini dresses in the 2 hour show. From the moment she ran onto the stage - she NEVER stopped dancing and making her fringe shake ! She's a true icon and has a voice that just will not quit. There will never be anyone else who can ever so Proud Mary like her. Nice and ROUGH ! I FUCKING LOVE THIS BEAUTIFUL WOMAN !

Ah, what? I HONESTLY, TRULY, KNOW, WITHOUT DOUBT Simon knew greatly of this classic song, for both he & Garfunkel came out with "The Sound Of Silence" just one year prior. Both Paul & Tina were from the same era. I think the expression we see on Simon's face here, is UTTER SHELL SHOCK on what he is STILL SEEING & STILL HEARING, 23 years later...!!!
