Headcannon Story: Gackt was a titans test pilot for another Gundam Mk-II unit and awakening newtype. Ever since becoming a pilot, he has seen images of his own death, floating in space still attached to the seat of his cockpit. Discontent with the idea of dying for the authoritarian cause that the Titans represented, Gackt defected to the AEUG during the Battle of Jaburo. He is knocked into the atmosphere by a Hizack, an event which reminds him of his own uncertain mortality, but survives and participates in the ground battle before being picked up by the Audhumla when Jaburo detonated in a nuclear explosion. Returning to space, he would serve on an Argama-class Assault Carrier until he was to be transferred to Karaba. Along the way he suffered a newtype endued mental breakdown and is overwhelmed by the images of his own death and the tragic deaths of Kamille's father and mother. Accepting his fate, Gackt would continue to fight for the truths in his heart, regardless of whether he lives or dies. His preordained death would one day come when during a battle in low Earth orbit he is caught in the reactor detonation of a nearby GM II, tearing apart his Gundam Mk-II before itself detonating in a chain reaction. it is unclear exactly when he died, but is was likely in 0087, well before the end of the Gryps War.

If you want an explanation for this video, the song "Metamorphoze" was written for the film Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation 1, itself a compilation-cum-remake/remaster of the TV show of the same name. In fact, not only would Gackt contribute this song to the first Zeta film, but he'd do so for films 2 and 3 as well. Even doing a compilation album featuring rerecorded versions of classic songs featured in the main Mobile Suit Gundam franchise (0079 - 0088).
I have A New Translation and I want to know what the ending songs for the last movie are. I can't read japanese...lol...I'm not sure if Gackt did those but I like them
