This song and PV are amazing, it's very happy with a touch of melancholy, romantic and dreamy, and it really has that French pop vibe Mana and Gackt were so inspired by! This song is also very enjoyable for a lot of people, it's not too alternative, and while it is catchy and poppy, it's still well composed/arranged, has original elements to it, and doesn't become boring after listening to it a few times. The reason i fell in love with this band is the music....it was a sound i never heard before and the lyrics were absolutely breath taking. it amazes me that mana for example implements classical influences and rock together to make such beauty. every member just amazing.

I love how shitty it is though… all cgi at the time was bad so that combined with the aesthetic of the clothing and song gives me such creepy comfort :] like how a lot of 90s mvs for some reason had these filters where it was almost black and white and the white was all really glowy and the pixels quality was shit so it’s borderline creepy when combined with the soulful vocals but it fits it’s time and it ends up being super good

I did a Philosophy homework on aesthetics and talked about visual kei in general. The teacher said it was the best one of my class and that actually knows Malice Mizer and Mana. It was quite the surprise.

Okay so here is the part where everyone can laugh at me. I'm totally a metal punk rock Cobra Kai kind of guy. I love Slayer, Misfits, Deathstars etc...but I also love my visual kai and music from overseas however when I listen to this band and certain songs it just brings a tear to my eyes. No joke. Not because I'm depressed or sad but because this band and music is so fucking beautiful and pure and organic and just not normal. It always cleans my mind and brain even after a few tears if that makes any sense. Sometimes after a crazy day at work I'll watch this band and it calms my nerves. Anyway love all you fans of this music and Thanks to the creators and artists and the bands that make this great stuff. A++++ : )))

マリスで断トツに好きな曲。硝子糸で紡いだ様な美しく切ないメロディと歌詞に胸が疼く。いわゆるビジュアル系と言われるバンドで、ここまで繊細で物哀しく感傷的な曲を紡げたのが、マリスが唯一無二のバンドだった証。耽美。頽廃。堕ちると知りながら口にしてしまう逆らい難き甘い毒。MALICE MIZERにはそんな甘美で妖艶な魅力が溢れている。
そしてこの頃のGACKTは｢天上界の美｣｢神武以来の美少年｣と言われた若き美輪明宏レベル。
私もマリスでこの曲がダントツに好き。
同じくこの曲が一番好きです。当時のヴィジュアル系四天王はどれも甲乙つけがたいよさがありましたね。曲でいうとマリスのこの曲やヴェルエール、ファナティッククライシスの月の花、SHAZNAのMelty Love、ラクリマのForestとかは全部持っていましたが何度聞いたかわからないほど神がかってました。お陰で初回ケースはボロボロ。プラスチックのカバーってすぐに擦れた傷が付いちゃうんですよね〜涙
言いたい事全部言っていただいてありがとうございます。逆にこの曲がなかったら、名盤メルヴェイユ、さらにはこのバンドの総合的な評価は全然変わっていたと思う。
GACKTが抜けなかったら今でも活躍してるバンドだと思いますよ😃

当時ラルクが好きだったんだけど、たまたまこの曲を聴いた時ドラムの技術のことはあまり分からないけど、ドラムの音や、アレンジと叩き方の雰囲気がラルクのドラムと凄くそっくりで違うバンドなのに不思議に思ってました。後で知ってスッキリしました。ラルクの元ドラマーサクラさんとマリスのKa miさんは師弟関係にあるんですよね。

Merveilles is one of the finest albums ever recorded. I paid a buttload back in 2002 to import it after I heard this song on a random Shoutcast internet radio station. They were ahead of their time and still are. There will never be another band like Malice Mizer.

Thank you for the upload. Malice Mizer is amazing and when Gackt was with them is still some of the best music of all time. This has been my favorite song of them since I heard it probably back in 2004-2005. Yu~Ki’s walking bass line is phenomenal. It always bums me out that things didn’t work out and obviously the loss of Kami is sad too.

Circa 2005. A girl named Chaola introduced me this song! I fall to her. We lost our communication and after 18 yrs i found her in Fb. Shes nice. We Both have a family now. Shes talented. I will never forget her 😊

does anyone know if the violin interlude (1:04) is sampled from a real classical piece? it sounds so familiar that i'm having a hard time believing they made it, not to mention the fact that they've sampled beethoven's fur elise in one of their songs before
Its probably original...but this song have a very bossa nova vibe (and im not saying that out of nowhere, im brazilian myself and studied music at university, also there are explicity bossa nova music in some malice mizer's work). On the other hand I can for sure say there is nothing of classical (from classical period) or beethoven's music here. This music is clever and yet soo beautiful, one of the best, being at the same time simple and complex.
all of the music is played by them :)) and the sampling is just their covers of it, mana sama and gackt are prodigies on the violin, guitar and piano, and gackt has said before that he used to play classical music. i hope this helps :))

I’m 29 now, but I discovered their music through a friend of mine when I was 12. I was already into vkei but through Miyavi and Dir En Grey, but she had the live dvd and cd combo of this album and I just couldn’t believe they existed. Then Moi Dix Mois became more a favourite of mine for a long time because I was just way more emo… but as I’ve grown up I have become more and more enchanted and in love with Malice Mizer to the point that it’s probably my favourite band after all these years. Their music is truly beautiful it makes me cry.
