I left CS in 78 after living there for many years first moving there as a child in 59. I have been back twice since then, in 92
and again in 2000.A lot has changed in the years since I lived
there for the better. I see that Jose Muldoons is still there used to go there quite often. Colorado Springs will always have a piece of my heart. A beautiful city. Thanks for the ride.

@@TheTravelerRV hey i know im late but im a student from abroad looking to move to the US however im unable to decide a state
uptil now CO and NC are on my top however denver is pretty expensive so my other choice is Colorado Springs.
i wanted ask a couple of things:
how bad is the pollen or other allergy seasons in Colorado springs?
are major natural disasters common over there?
i looked at some apartments and saw you could get 2 bedroom for about 1800-2000$ near wahsatch and pikes peak ave, so i wanted to ask how safe are those areas from crime? and what other areas would you recommend that have low crime rate as ill be walking majority of the time.
how much would you say you need monthly to survive in colorado spring? would say you 3-4k a month would be enough for 2 people living in one house including paying for rent?
how bad does colorado spring have hail? and are the summers too hot and humid or overall cloudy?
would appreciate if i get these answers from you as i assume you are a resident living there.

@@SamAIMS i am sorry i dont live in Colorado. i was just visiting the area. so these are questions i would not know the answers to. i can say i do believe Colorado would have less national disasters than North Carolina. As their are to far from the coast to have to worry about hurricanes like NC.

Never seen a place with so many banks! Guess that's how they afford to keep the city so nice.

i didnt notice that when i was there, but i do have family that live up there and they have a lot of money to be made in construction. which usually is a good indication of the economy in a certain place

Nearly 480,000 in the city limits and over 3/4 of a million people in the Colorado Springs metropolitan area. Pueblo has 115,000 residents and 180,000 in the metropolitan area. Southern Colorado has close to a million people.

with all the good paying jobs and tons of opportunity in the Springs area. i am not surprised there is nearly 3/4 of a million people that live their.

I used to live in Colorado but never visited Colorado Springs. I'm surprised how pretty it is! I always thought it was like Pueblo (no offense to Pueblo).

Nope Colorado Springs is a lot more green and cleaner than Pueblo. We get more rain and snow too

Not impressed. Stationed there at Pete Field '82-84, not much to do but get drunk, or take a hike. Recently went back '22-'24 & it was like time stood still the last time I left in '84. The infrastructure is still outdated since the last time I left. Have to pay close attention where you're going as they're not really big on fixing their streets or even patching potholes from the last winter. However, they're in the process of playing 'catch up' from the last 40 years or so, and they just voted to become a "sanctuary city", they can't even keep up with the issues they have now let alone the influx of undocumented immigrants headed their way. It ain't what a lot of people claim it to be. It's not even a "nice place to visit" anymore. Just saying from living there.

thank you so much for all the info from the point of view of someone that lives there. I only visit as i have family that live here. it has always kind of felt like an old city to me. like it was caught in the 90s. I guess it makes sense now that you say they still have pretty much the same infrastructure from the 80s. i always enjoy my time here, but im always visiting family to. thanks for stopping by

pretty downtown but two lane roads each direction in the middle of downtown is unnecessary for a city this size and kills the walkability of the downtown area

    • @TheTravelerRV
      @TheTravelerRV  Рік тому

i agree, not sure why the roads are so wide. i do know it is a college town, maybe it gets really busy on the weekends. which makes them needed
