@@think-islam-channel well there are a lot of tips in the book, one of the most important tips is that the author says not every book is worth reading fully so before reading any book you should do inspectional reading. Inspectional reading consists of reading the important parts of the book such as the table of contents, preface, and appendix. Secondly is to read through the book quickly without thinking so you get a sense of the book without spending too much time thinking while reading the book.

Also, I believe that the same applies to social media and internet in general today. If you don't have a plan in mind or you don't develop or set a goal, you'll waste your entire life scrolling through the waves of information and videos and end up nowhere in life. And now you realize one of the reasons that we've been given a brain and the ability to think. Those who think steer the wheel to success, while those who don't simply sail along down the whirlpool.

@Md Ajaz Ali Carl Sagan said: "The most sophisticated cosmological ideas came from Asia and particularly from India. Here, there is a tradition of sceptical questioning and unselfconscious humility before the great cosmic mysteries." “The Hindu religion is the only one of the world’s great faiths dedicated to the idea that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, indeed an infinite, number of deaths and rebirths. It is the only religion in which the time scales correspond to those of modern scientific cosmology. Its cycles run from our ordinary day and night to a day and night of Brahma, 8.64 billion years long. Longer than the age of the Earth or the Sun and about half the time since the Big Bang. And there are much longer time scales still.” ua-cam.com/video/pC1z8pigiLM/v-deo.html Also, Fritjof Capra, in The Tao of Physics, wrote: "This idea of a periodically expanding and contracting universe, which involves a scale of time and space of vast proportions, has arisen not only in modern cosmology, but also in ancient Indian mythology. Experiencing the universe as an organic and rhythmically moving cosmos, the Hindus were able to develop evolutionary cosmologies which come very close to our modern scientific models." The details of these evolutionary cosmologies in the Sanskrit texts are mind-blowing.
And there are some who say we should study the books of MIAW, which I find a bit strange as I thought we should study the Qur'an & Sunnah, and other books like The Seerah?
If you utilise audio books, youtube lectures & podcasts, as well as the book a week, you could utilise far more information than that small section of the library.
People nowadays are reading just for the sake of reading. There needs to be more focus on implementation because that will be questioned in the hereafter not how much you know.

assalam aleykom, I hope you're well. I have three sons aged 9, 7, and 3, and I'm living in the US. I'm unsure about how to raise them and what resources to use to ensure they grow up as good Muslims. I'm looking for guidance on this journey with my kids, particularly through UA-cam playlists. I speak English, but my wife does not, and my kids are gradually losing their native language and becoming proficient in English. I believe this is a crucial aspect of Muslim life in the West, and I'm seeking advice for brothers and sisters in similar situations. Whether it's books, TV shows, UA-cam channels, playlists, or any other resources, I'm open to suggestions. Despite being in my thirties, I sometimes feel like a child myself, which I find difficult to admit, but it's the truth. I appreciate your guidance. Thank you.
The best thing brother Mohammed Hijab said in this video was learn how to use context pages and indexes. When reading a book,we should ask ourselves what should we know from the author.

muslims need more videos like this, we usually get caught up in motivational videos made by the west and get far from religion that actually has better foundation.
"you need to meditate, positive affirmations, cold shower, listen to music, wake up at 3h30, no at 5am...blablabla" all leads to eventually become far.
Follow Sunnah and Quran, but we need educated people who can extract these type of things, motivation/finance/practical advices etc.

You are confusing the Quran for the "prophet's word", The quran is Allah's word
The prophet's words are contained in hadith.
Since we should not "read anyhting other than the Holy Quran" that would imply we should not read the books of Hadith which contains the prophet's word.
You have clearly contradicted yourself and you are clearly lost, please seek guidance and knowledge so that you do not become corrupt.
Plus what was the Golden age of Islam without books and the increase in knowledge.

Great video for anyone actually, other than religious books for people who want to start reading I would suggest a book called How to Read a Book by Mortimer Adler and Charles Van Doren, it really helped learn how to read books efficiently, I think it helped me read religious books as well because my mind likes to wander often when reading.
Can you share any key tips that you took away from that book?
Thanks

Carl Sagan said:
"The most sophisticated cosmological ideas came from Asia and particularly from India. Here, there is a tradition of sceptical questioning and unselfconscious humility before the great cosmic mysteries."
“The Hindu religion is the only one of the world’s great faiths dedicated to the idea that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, indeed an infinite, number of deaths and rebirths.
It is the only religion in which the time scales correspond to those of modern scientific cosmology. Its cycles run from our ordinary day and night to a day and night of Brahma, 8.64 billion years long. Longer than the age of the Earth or the Sun and about half the time since the Big Bang. And there are much longer time scales still.”
ua-cam.com/video/pC1z8pigiLM/v-deo.html
Also, Fritjof Capra, in The Tao of Physics, wrote:
"This idea of a periodically expanding and contracting universe, which involves a scale of time and space of vast proportions, has arisen not only in modern cosmology, but also in ancient Indian mythology. Experiencing the universe as an organic and rhythmically moving cosmos, the Hindus were able to develop evolutionary cosmologies which come very close to our modern scientific models."
The details of these evolutionary cosmologies in the Sanskrit texts are mind-blowing.

assalam aleykom,
I hope you're well.
Thank you.
