She represents what people are hungering for, something real, honest stripped down untainted by fashion, fads or producers. She and her band have that fresh off the street feel that only well schooled buskers can deliver. Musicians/entertainers like her will bring down stadium rock back to the clubs back to the people.
True, but we don't know what's going to happen to her. She could go very big and stadium. Though I almost hope she doesn't and instead makes a career at the top of alt (=true) country!
There's something to be said about a young lady who can have the whole crowd singing "Irene Goodnight" together and they're not in their 80's. We could all use more of that these days. Thanks Sierra!! You really are made like that.

This is a really great show!! Wish I could of been there in person to be fully immersed in the energy of Sierra’s wonderful group. It’s a shame their mics aren’t recording this session so it could be put on an album. I really wish she could put, Little Bird on an album just the way they had it live instead of that studio sound. Thank you Blind Ivan for capturing this whole show, just shows their different sound for their songs. That’s what makes Sierra so special is that every song is played different and unique in it’s own way everytime when on stage.
There are better quality recordings of Sierra Ferrel on UA-cam, but this is one of the most spirited concerts of her entire tour. The whole band was totally at their best, inspired by such a supportive and wild crowd. Thanks for posting this video.
I got to see her and the band play in Bozeman Tuesday night and it fantastic. I came here looking to see if anyone had uploaded a video of it yet, and while they had not, this is close enough. :) ❤️
What makes Sierra, and the band, Great in this performance is exemplified on West Virignia Waltz. First, this is 7 min 50 seconds of WALTZ in a high energy concert - not as high as OCMS or BMFS maybe... but audience intensity was palpable. A nearly 8 minute waltz.. and that is after Whispering Waltz which was also 7ish minutes. Obviously, it is not just that they played a waltz, or that they played it well. Every band member, but especially Sierra and Josie are pouring themselves into it with full intention. Not to diss Geof and Josh, it's just Josie and Sierra make it more visible, and that visible counts to the live audience. Josh and Geof show it amply in their playing. Josie watching Sierra, and watching Geof and Josh, and the look of relaxed concentration - Guitar face even - as she keeps the groove visibly reacting in her body, and her smile. None of them are just playing. They are all putting the focus into this just as if it was the most technical tune they ever played. Of course Sierra is at the heart of it. All of this shows her leadership of the band. The Vocals - I think the thing I love most about Sierra's music is right there. Every song is delivered with full commitment. Many mention that Sierra doesn't sing songs the same way twice. That weaves together with her singing. Every performance is full commitment. It's not a replay - she is interacting and bringing us all to experience. That weaves into the groove she sets and the band following the groove. All of that sums up 100% in the ending of this West Virginia Waltz.... Sierra has a done a great job, it's been a great performance, but WHO DOES THIS??? She ends a waltz with an Accapela solo - 3rd repeat of the line - and goes all the way to 10 on a vocal delivery - right to the edge of Janis Joplin intensity - to end a waltz. Inspiring. I hope Sierra goes every direction and place she dreams of in her career.
Sierra has so much cross-genre talent. Josie’s got huge presence & awareness. Josh’s waltz solo was also quite soulful and the bass work was very tasteful in its economical manner suited to the acoustic nature of the band behind the singer. I just loved it. And yes, the waltzes stand out.
