Airbus did have its own semi-disaster - the Airbus A340. This was designed once again when ETOPS required four engines for long-haul flights over long distances. Lufthansa, Air France and Singapore Airlines were launch customers. THAI and SIA used it for their non-stop JFK/Bangkok and JFK/Singapore routes. But with ETOPS later substantially increased for twin engine aircraft, reduced cargo capacity and fuel costs on the rise, services only became profitable with an extremely large expensive business class. Only 377 were sold and the aircraft quite quickly died. Wrong plane at the wrong time.
It's pretty clear the next big step change is the blended wing-body design. Not only is it aerodynamically much more efficient, the internal volume also increases.
Making longer and longer span wings to improve L/D ratio is so last Tuesday . People need to think outside the box a little bit more. Flying wings are a thing. A blended wing-fuselage with vertical stabilisers to add stability isn't a big stretch. Actually, it makes the plane shorter. Lol.

Boeing is ending themselves, and nobody is mentioning COMAC entering the commercial aircraft business with airliners every bit as good as anything Airbus or Boeing are putting out.
The 220 was purchased by Airbus from Bombardier. This new thing you’re talking about is years or decades away and BOEING will, as usual, rebound. As for Airbus, even as your posts have stated, they have issues of their own….
Boeing is the end of Boeing. It was a top, thriving company until grief, profit and money took over. They forgot they are not a money maker but a plane maker But others have and will do the same.
I have worked on a hydrogen project and left after 6 months due to safety concerns and the energy inputs required to produce hydrogen. Ultra dense solid state batteries are the answer.
Heat and corrosion resistant Carbon Composite Fiber and Reinforced body and window modifications are a must for Boeing to remain prominent in the Extra Wide Body aircraft market ✈️💵🔧☝️
I think that Airbus had to come up with something to offset their major blunder of deciding to go into production of the A380. With the A380 they gambled that the airline industry would concentrate on large body aircraft going from major centres to major centres and smaller aircraft carrying passengers from those airports to their final destinations. However, the trend developed for smaller aircraft not flying to airport "hubs" but rather to final destinations thus drastically reducing the need for larger aircraft. Hopefully the competition will bring down the price of air travel depending on which airport the passenger uses as his/her departure point.
You are only partly correct. Larger aircraft were still required for the vast number of flights required for long distances - e.g. trans Pacific and trans Atlantic - plus increasingly from the rapidly developing Middle East markets of Dubai, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Smaller aircraft cannot presently fly Singapore/New York, Doha/Auckland, Dubai/Sydney - although the extended range versions of the much newer A350 and Boeing 787s now can. Then there was also the passenger requirements for long haul non stops between Europe and Asia and also Europe to the US west coast. The "blunder" as you call it of the A380 was certainly that it was conceived at a time when airlines wanted it but before massive fuel price rises making twin jets cheaper but equally the extension in 2009 of ETOPS from 2 hours to 4 hours for twin engine jets. Airbus certainly could not have assumed the latter back when the A380 was being designed.
Manufacturers should move away from 'fuel thinking' and start thinking 'expansion force'. The properties of R744 (CO2) are much more favorable than fuels. R744 can be recycled in new engine types.
The blended wing is always appealing to aerodynamicists and engineers but - what will happen at airports? Will the airlines be able to use current terminal infrastructure? Hmm..
The XWB-97 engine upgrade, hopefully, will address its weakness for middle eastern market. EM refused to consider A350-1000 for this reason. Otherwise, A35K is a perfect replacement for B777-300ER.
Did AI write this video? No new info for anyone who follows the industry For anyone who doesn’t follow the industry there is not enough context to make any conclusions.
An H2 engine is an obvious next step in aircraft propulsion. I hope Airbus and R-R can make this work. For the doubters out there, H2 may be safer in a crash than liquid jet fuel. Liquid H2 rapidly flashes into a gas, and gaseous H2 escapes upwards and away from the crash site. This is unlike kerosene jet fuel, which hangs around whilst burning. Of course, it still needs careful handling, but I'm sure Airbus can work out the safety issues.
Oh yes an hydrogen airplane does not emit CO2. But we have little or none hydrogen so we have to produce and liquefy it. That is very energy consuming with a low efficiency Think about that as well. Where will you get the hydrogen ?
Airbus and RR would be well served if they went straight for the hydrogen or hydrogen-hybrid option. It's all going to end up there anyway so why not hammer on it right now? A successful engine that exhausts water would take all the heat off from the environmentalists etc. with the additional bonus of leaving Greed Incorporated on the back foot for decades, a fate they so richly deserve. Hydrogen !!! Heavy industry and related industries are moving towards it already. Naysayers be damned. They are just supporting the tired broken petroleum corporate interests because they can only see about the length of a dollar bill. They are dinosaurs. Leave them behind.
When speaking about Boeing, you show images of the MAX and Compared the A350 to the B777-3ER. Not to mention the B777X. The B777X uses GE Power plant, better than the RR and developing new variants. Not finding the video to informative, but more advertising for RR and Airbus.
No 777X has yet been delivered. The plane is now a decade late and in recent test flights a new structural problem has been discovered. All test flights have been grounded since August 11. The latest delivery date has been postponed endless times. Boeing has now announced 2026 will be the earliest. More than a few airlines are absolutely furious!
Maybe Boeing could learn from Kodak,s arrogance and making wrong decisions at crucial business time - they never took precautions by taking out patterns on products - and contributed to their own demise by a relatively small company called Polaroid- by totally ignoring them

If Boeing would sell-off it's McDonnel Douglas mistake and get back to being engineering-oriented, it might have a chance of regaining its former reputation for technological excellence and quality construction. Otherwise, the future looks dim as they've got a lot of "trust" issues to overcome.
I’ve read some of the comments. They’re pretty funny, but it’s hard not to feel sad for the idiocy of the people making them . Boing isn’t going anywhere. There is a lot more to blowing than civil aircraft. Duh They will right the ship so don’t be so quick to count them out. Boeing is also developing new aircraft by the way. Silly people.
I agree with you 100%. Most of the ppl commenting are ppl who watch CNN or BBC news and believe everything they say. New 777x will be a pinacle of engineering.
An absolute game changer in the Airbus A350-2000 and makes flight greener and growing economics 💵
Where is the SHOCKED EVERYONE's part?
I love the Airbus BWB concept ( Blended Wing Body )
Stop me if I am wrong but wasn’t it the the strut that Boeing fitted on the 787 that was the problem and not the RR engine?
HMMMM, HYDROGEN... AIRCRAFT... REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING
"sustainability" mentioned: job done.
"environmentally friendly" X10, Green wash job done.
All I ask for is an affordable, comfortable trip with good service and no turbulence.
Boeing is ending themselves, and nobody is mentioning COMAC entering the commercial aircraft business with airliners every bit as good as anything Airbus or Boeing are putting out.
COMAC isn't on the level of Boeing or Airbus yet, but they are definately catching up.
We made many videos for C919☺️

Why not increase fuel efficiency by reducing weight? This could be done by using aluminum scandium alloys.
@@m.f.djaffar5317 More expensive initially, but what about the savings in fuel costs over the life of the plane?
This looks like an Airbus commercial to me. They imply that ONLY Airbus is pursueing these developments, that's nonsense. And so is this video!

Right. AIRBUS is a non-profit.
I have worked on a hydrogen project and left after 6 months due to safety concerns and the energy inputs required to produce hydrogen. Ultra dense solid state batteries are the answer.
No. batteries cost too much because it needs platinum inside. That's why electric cars are expensive. And we still cant recycle batteries well.
Thanks for Everything. It's cramped sweats. In India Night Bus seats are batter than Airbus Aircraft.
Shocking!!! Clickbait! 😂😂😂😂😂
The 737 Max Series is Boeing's demise ✈️💵☝️
I think because of the advancements of the A350, Boeing might greenlight the new Boeing 797 sooner than We think
Hope so!
The blended wing is always appealing to aerodynamicists and engineers but - what will happen at airports? Will the airlines be able to use current terminal infrastructure? Hmm..
Now there's a thought.👍That alone would be a game changer, who would bare the cost of those upgrades?
avgeeks hate this ideas, i would like to see some of this planes but never replace the ones we have today
They will old some day and can't meet the market demand so the replacement is necessary.

Hydrogen as combustion fuel? The ultimate insanity in terms of reducing carbon emissions.
Why?
@@byteme9718 Go do some research. about the process of creating liquid hydrogen.

So their business plan is to make quality products?
SOMEBODY TELL AMERICA!
They should, they need to be told in my experience.
Maybe they know but...
The XWB-97 engine upgrade, hopefully, will address its weakness for middle eastern market. EM refused to consider A350-1000 for this reason. Otherwise, A35K is a perfect replacement for B777-300ER.

The future has got to be lighter than air aircraft …
An H2 engine is an obvious next step in aircraft propulsion. I hope Airbus and R-R can make this work.
For the doubters out there, H2 may be safer in a crash than liquid jet fuel. Liquid H2 rapidly flashes into a gas, and gaseous H2 escapes upwards and away from the crash site. This is unlike kerosene jet fuel, which hangs around whilst burning. Of course, it still needs careful handling, but I'm sure Airbus can work out the safety issues.
Infomercial.
It’s so advanced the doors stay on!
Will you please stop with the clickbait headlines - shocked.
No, they always clickbait.

Leave them behind.
thanks for your feedback
But surely, Hydrogen is volatile, and does not lend itself to storage easily.?
I don’t see how a wing design would find its way into the passenger market.

It’s niche product. An A350/777 size is much easier to fill and maximize utilization. The A380 has way too much dwell time.

Boing Who??? Ah the Open doors airship company..
Maybe Boeing could learn from Kodak,s arrogance and making wrong decisions at crucial business time - they never took precautions by taking out patterns on products - and contributed to their own demise by a relatively small company called Polaroid- by totally ignoring them
It’s about the qualifications and background of the iceberg. People like Nimarata Randhawa ( Nikki Haley ) , how she became on the board of directors of Boeing ?! . The answer reflects the quality of Boeing.
It won’t be long before you start to recommend the Chinese built planes. Give it a few years and they’ll overtake Boeing and airbus.
