As a GR86 owner since feb of 22', tracking it weekly, tried many different tire setups. This is fast for v730s. But what I really enjoy even more than this time? Watch his oil pressure on those hard rights. Im glad your cars still kicking. I instinctively drop rpm or up shift just to keep it below 4k and kind almost coast throttle the hard right turns and whatnot now.
Man, I could make the drive down to Laguna Seca but even if I had the money to burn some tires and throw in some pads and fluid, that right dip at 1:30 scares the crap out of me, that's the oil pressure dip murderer lol Some crazy g-forces held there, 1+ into slides looks like a lot of fun.
Nice lap and well made video! I believe it may worth doing a session with short shifting before the right hand side turns in order to avoid the oil press drops. You may loose some time but I think your oil pressure will be steady in the nominal value.
Thank you! If you notice, I already am using 4th gear for T4 and T10. On the SX2 tires, I don't see a pressure drop there, likely due to fewer lateral Gs, but on the V730, the higher lateral G causes the pressure drop, even in a higher gear
You can try to data log and monitor your pressures to see if an overfill may help in your scenario. It also depends on track layout, lateral G, and RPM.
Thanks! It's hard for me to say, my car literally has never experienced oversteer on sx2, so getting a little bit of entry oversteer on v730 was wild to me. They still felt pretty progressive though

Have you tried switching to 5w30 and overfilling by .5-1qt? that seems to be working for folks and would allow you to fully experience your GR86

Awesome lap! You were flying out there! 👏👏👏
Great driving! Seems like the v730s are working out for you :)
I am definitely loving them so far! so much faster than the SX2 haha
Smooth driving!
LET"S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOO

1:43 🤯
nice driving!
Beautiful lap. The oil pressure drops on right hand turns is a scary thing. I fear this on my GR 86

@@studiousGR86 for sure. I already overfill by .75 litres and I have had no problems ! Thanks for the advice. Keep driving hard !
Very impressive! I'm going back on V730s soon so I'm excited.
How did you get timing data to show on Android Auto?
Thanks! It's a timing app my friend is working on, stay tuned...
@@studiousGR86 Sick! Subbed, hope to see this featured more
Nice lap! Do these V730 feel more or less progressive than your SX2s would you say?

What camera setup do you have? Mount?
I'm using a GoPro 10 and a headrest GoPro mount
What app is on the screen? How to get that? And what’s the app on the phone?
Friend is developing a lap timer app, stay tuned!
On the phone is racechrono
@@studiousGR86 Any update on the app?
