Dawn was the older of the two sisters and thats what I believe the question implied.

So, here we go, this is what happened: Ronnie changed his stories around was because he was ordered by his Grandfather to not bring Dawn into it because it would shame the family name and he told Ronnie it would drag the family name through the mud, and there was NO WAY he was going to allow that to happen. So he ordered Ronnie to take the full blame for the murders, and to plead insanity. When you're Ronnie, and your Mafia Grandfathers and Uncles are telling you how things will be and ordering you to take full blame ("Ronnie, it doesn't matter if Dawn shot the kids, and that's why you shot her... you'd still get sentenced to the same amount of time, life in prison, whether you only killed 2 people or 6.") I have watched the complete interview not too long ago. After watching this it became obvious to me that he is crazy as a loon.,,definently an antisocial personality. He has changed his story so many times that when his best friend was interviewed..,He told Ronnie he didn't believe any of his stories.,,because there were so many.

I have to say first I'm a little obsessed with this tragedy. Reasons being I can't comprehend how one kills their entire family. I also want to say I don't judge. I want to wrap my arms around Ronnie and pray/talk to God cause this man been damaged for a very long time. I'm not saying possession but evil it is.
Lastly from my obsession I watch over and over and this last viewing I picked up something. He said they was all defenseless except mom n Dad he(dad) didn't get to it (gun) but she did. I think the mother awoke reached for gun but Ronnie blasted her. She was going to kill Ronnie her son
