      There are two primary problems with this position. The first one is the condition of Dawn's body in relation to her parents and her siblings. By the time the Medical Examiner did the autopsies everybody but Dawn was completely through rigor. Dawn was not. This means Dawn died considerably later. This was confirmed by the Medical examiner that while he admitted he did not do her autopsy, he did confirm the condition of her body. This leads to the last problem Ronald Sr DID NOT die in bed. You can tell by the position of his body he had been placed in bed. There were no signs of him being slid across the floor. I might also add that there is some doubt the bullets found in the mother's body were fired from the same firearm. The weights don't match. There might be a reasonable explanation for this, and again there might not be. I am of the opinion there were 3 people in that house alive and walking around. This crime most likely will never be solved fully. Please don't get me started on George and Kathy Lutz. In the end, I feel sorry for the current owners of that house.

      There is one more point I feel is critical to articulate. I am NOT a conspiracy nutcase. I am 100% convinced Butch DeFeo lived and died where he belonged. I am 100% positive he took his Father's life as well as his sister Dawn's. I am not sure who did the other 4. About 15 years later I was in a home where a rifle was accidentally fired, the sound was loud and I felt also a bit concussive. There were two children fast asleep in the back of the house that instantly started crying and were out of bed. I remember thinking about this case that night. I may be a total idiot, but after a rifle fire's 4 times, I don't see anybody staying in bed after that. Nobody was drugged. I just can't see this happening the way the local police said it did. I do NOT believe Butch acted alone!

      There's actually quite a lot of proof that there's a dark entity inhabiting that house. Even Ed and Lorraine Warren did an extensive investigation; Ed being a Church recognized Demonologist, and Lorraine a psychic/clairvoyant, with hundreds of cases in their files.
      There's actually a pretty famous photo taken by Lorraine as she was walking around the house with a camera. It's of the youngest child sort of peeking out of the doorway of a bedroom, and can be seen from the upper part of the stairs leading to the second floor.

I’ve read several sources that Dawn wanted to move to Florida with her boyfriend and her dad wasn’t having it among other things. • @HarryLime-ge6dc
      @HarryLime-ge6dc 2 місяці тому

      It's not a rumor. Dawn had unfired gunpowder residue on her nightgown. The house was also being staked out by a federal law enforcement officer and he reported seeing Dawn throw something in the water behind the house. Ronald, being a habitual liar, as well as having drug and alcohol addiction issues, was not the greatest historian so we'll never truly know. What is known is that this was an absolute tragedy and that there was serious dysfunction in the dynamics of this family. Actually, Ronald said he killed the parents with Dawn, he left to go to Brooklyn for more heroin ( because of course), and when he came back, Dawn had killed the children and that he then killed Dawn. But the mother was never blamed by anyone. The main source of conflict in the house seems to be the father. Others testified that he had physically abused Ronald Jr, and his wife and siblings, even when Ronald Jr was a toddler. The confusion, to me, is why would he kill his siblings, who he was reportedly very close with? If Dawn was involved, that's the issue that makes her participation possible. But, we'll never know and this is one of those cases where we should let the dead bury the dead.

    Harmon, I agree with you, he did it! I've watched Amityville over and over when we had a disc player. Wish they hadn't changed the house! I also had the book. Really enjoyed your video!

    I think Butch (as he was also called) did it all by himself. I remember this story in the newspapers. I also remember one of my cousins (she lived in Brentwood, Long Island with her family) wanted to drive past that house. My Uncle (her Dad) forbade her to. He said he didn't want anything to "follow" her home. He was quite superstitious about stuff like that. As to whether or not it's haunted, well, haunted or not, 6 people were murdered there and that should be enough to give anyone the willies...it certainly does to me.

    I saw the crime scene photos many many many years ago online. Morbid curiosity you could say, and I regret looking at them. What a terrible thing to happen to the family.

    FYI the house to your right ( at 1:45) with the white lamppost and the deer statue in the yard, is the first house that originally stood where the famous one stands now😉

    Completely credible recount! Thank you. Believe me, you are rare breed. The twists, lies of the family members, Ronnie’s victims, and sympathetic tones for the killer have been nauseating for years. So glad true crime reports are posting the truth.

    What I found curious about that house was how it was situated on the lot. It could be it was built before other houses were added, but I drove the entire length of Ocean Avenue, and every house was built with the front of the house facing the street. 112 was the only house with the front facing the house next door, and the side facing the street. After I parked and stood on the sidewalk looking at it, I had a feeling that cannot be described, knowing the awful crime that had been committed in there. RIP to the DeFeo family.

    I truly think that his dad pushed him past the point and he snapped. And his drug addiction didn't help the situation. This is one of the saddest cases.

      I agree. After years of mental and physical abuse, mixed in with drugs and alcohol, Ronald snapped like a rubber band.

    This is one of those stories that no one will never know the truth, I've seen so many documentaries and they said Ronald changed his stories so many times, you don't know what to believe. Especially about him drugging his family, and that has been proven not to be true by experts. But it's a good juicy and very sad story. Rip to the family 👪

    I live on Long Island and I've been to the house a couple of times, definitely not haunted. It is lovely though and wouldn't mind owning it myself. Ronnie died in 2021 that means that whole family is dead and buried. The Lutzes denounced the book that Jay Anson wrote, it was the Warren's that encouraged him to write the book, "Just make it scary." Anson died soon after the movie came out. I often wonder why this gets rehashed, why it hasn't been put to rest? I didn't like the 2005 version where Ryan Reynolds as George Lutz killed the dog. In the 1979 version, James Brolin as George Lutz saved the dog, Harry. 112 Ocean Ave became less about the DeFeo tragedy and more about the Lutzes.
