Shoutout to the cemetery employee who probably really wanted to go home but let you in anyways. 🙌🏻
I really like the original Amityville Horror movie with James Brolin and Margot Kidder.
Me too. Scary!
I never saw that one I do like 2005 one
You should watch the first one with James Brolin and Margot Kidder. Way better.
Rest In Peace to the Defeo Family thanks Harmon ❤
As a Long Islander, NY myself, my dad used to be obsess with the Amityville Horror story.
Heck, I would be too!!!
I was in high school when the book came out. Read the book, and watched the movie. I don't think it was till a considerable time later that I heard about the family annihilation.
I agree with you, Eric.
I believe he did it alone.
This was a horrific crime
Very scary. 😮💔😭
Unfortunately this was very poertic
Who would've helped kill someone's family
There are two primary problems with this position. The first one is the condition of Dawn's body in relation to her parents and her siblings. By the time the Medical Examiner did the autopsies everybody but Dawn was completely through rigor. Dawn was not. This means Dawn died considerably later. This was confirmed by the Medical examiner that while he admitted he did not do her autopsy, he did confirm the condition of her body. This leads to the last problem Ronald Sr DID NOT die in bed. You can tell by the position of his body he had been placed in bed. There were no signs of him being slid across the floor. I might also add that there is some doubt the bullets found in the mother's body were fired from the same firearm. The weights don't match. There might be a reasonable explanation for this, and again there might not be. I am of the opinion there were 3 people in that house alive and walking around. This crime most likely will never be solved fully. Please don't get me started on George and Kathy Lutz. In the end, I feel sorry for the current owners of that house.
There is one more point I feel is critical to articulate. I am NOT a conspiracy nutcase. I am 100% convinced Butch DeFeo lived and died where he belonged. I am 100% positive he took his Father's life as well as his sister Dawn's. I am not sure who did the other 4. About 15 years later I was in a home where a rifle was accidentally fired, the sound was loud and I felt also a bit concussive. There were two children fast asleep in the back of the house that instantly started crying and were out of bed. I remember thinking about this case that night. I may be a total idiot, but after a rifle fire's 4 times, I don't see anybody staying in bed after that. Nobody was drugged. I just can't see this happening the way the local police said it did. I do NOT believe Butch acted alone!
@@THE-michaelmyers You bring up some very good points.
Thank you!
Harmin, We love you so much. Never forget that.💙💙
Aww thanks so much katherine😊 You all mean the world to me🙌👍
The question remains , how did no one hear the shots? RIP DeFeo family. Take care Harmon
It was an open secret that the DeFeo’s had ties to the mob. I wouldn’t have heard anything either
Yes take care Harmin.
He confessed to that, he drugged his family.
That was weird that they didn't try to escape
@@Surv1ve_Thrive NO! The Medical Examiners run toxicology, and there were no drugs found in any of those 6 bodies.
RIP to the family members. Horrible crime.
I was young but remember this happening
☠️ I have followed this case since the 70s and this is the first I remember hearing about him calling on the life insurance..
I've never in my life heard anything about that either you are right I mean he got arrested almost immediately. So how could he of called on life insurance 🤔 dose not make sence
@@traceydanielle8463 I rewound and listen twice and it says he asked the policeman arresting him how to collect life insurance?!?
That is why I think he was not insane and also the other lies too.
Thanks for explaining why they were all found in their beds. I always wondered how no one heard the gunshots and got up to investigate. I hadn't heard he drugged them all. Interesting! That makes sense.
He said he drugged them but Ronnie was a compulsive liar, never could believe a word he said, he always changed his story. Unless it says in the autopsy, then I wouldn't believe it but would make a lot of sense.
In the autopsy reports there were no drugs/sedatives found in any of the murdered family members.
I don't know where that lie came from but, the autopsy results has always stated nothing in the family's systems were present to prevent anyone from waking up while Ronald DeFeo shot them in their beds
@@badkitty4922 Wow! Very interesting. I guess I didn't know as much about this story as I thought. Lol.
@@Erin_Coke aww, it's all good.
There's actually quite a lot of proof that there's a dark entity inhabiting that house. Even Ed and Lorraine Warren did an extensive investigation; Ed being a Church recognized Demonologist, and Lorraine a psychic/clairvoyant, with hundreds of cases in their files.
There's actually a pretty famous photo taken by Lorraine as she was walking around the house with a camera. It's of the youngest child sort of peeking out of the doorway of a bedroom, and can be seen from the upper part of the stairs leading to the second floor.
They weren’t drugged. The toxicology reports came back negative for all of them.
The house looks similar but they changed the distinctive windows to make it look less 'sinister'
They looked like eyes
Glad you mentioned no sound suppressor. One wonders these days w false confessions.
Absolutely! They must have been drugged then right?? How else would none of them try to hide or escape?
@@InfamousCrimeLocations agree!
@@InfamousCrimeLocations with no muffling accessory, it's surprising that the neighbors didn't report shots fired [i've heard gun and/or rifle discharges a block or more away]
P.S. wasn't aware he died last year- thanks
Thanks Harmin I have heard so many versions of this story it's nice to know the real story.
On one of my trips to NY I had my bro in law drive me to this house so I could see it in person. It was interesting to be in front of the place where this tragedy happend. Another great video Harmin.
It's gotta be weird to live next to that house or in that neighborhood knowing what happened there
I've always been so fascinated by the Amityville house, family etc.. Thank you for bringing us along 🙏
This story will get old. Weird how no one wake up. Some say his sister was involved. Dad was a weirdo too. Enjoyed!
He and his siblings were allegedly abused by their dad. I think it played a part in the crime. I remember seeing part of the movie on tv when I was a kid. Scared the 💩 out of me. But it led to a life long interest which is why I am here on your channel today. They purposely changed the upstairs windows.
Hi 😊 Harmin I totally agree with you Harmin He did it alone pure evil!!! So horrific 😭😭😭
Great coverage. 🙂👍
100% he killed his own family. And, he did it alone. Thanks for taking us here Harmin. I cannot imagine what the rest of their family went through. RIP to the Defeo family.
Harmin, have you done the List family yet? I think that ii is another good one to do. Keep up the great work. Joan
That's another famous family anhialation story that in many ways is more gruesome and horrific than the Amityville case.
Great suggestion!👍👍👍
As usual, great job! I see they changed out those iconic startups circle windows at the top!
Wow Harmon you are a rolling stone and I love seeing your travels. This is one of the most interesting cases.
Harmin As Always Great Reporting Great Video 👍 I Was 7 When This Horrible Event Happened Still Haunting After Almost 50 Year's
Yay Harmin! It’s great to see your face again. I hope you are doing well. I have been on a little “online break” and missed your channel the most! Keep up the amazing content, this was a great one. Safe travels and looking forward to the next one🧳👍
🧡☠️🧡👻🧡🎃
Those 3 sided, original 3rd floor windows were just so creepy. I will never forget how those looked back when the original movie came out. Such a sad, sad story. Something about Ronald's looks reminds me of Charlie Manson.
I've always been interested in the DeFeo/Amityville haunting for some reason.
Great video, Harmin!!!
👻
One of my best girlfriends grew up right down the road from the house she was in a convent when it happened but she said she would see some of the neighborhood in church and they were creepy people according to the neighbors they really didn't like the dad or older brother but they were empathetic for the kids but they weren't allowed to stay overnight and neither was the neighborhood kids they likened the house as a war battle ground
@@lisajoyce6803 Yikes💥⚡
@@Firecracker66 yes I know she died in 2007 October 15 but I still get shivers remembering the story about them
@@lisajoyce6803 Living that close to ACTUAL Evil!... I cannot even imagine
It would have been interesting to see the bar and walk to the house from there.
Ohh man.. that's so true. I was running low on time between driving from the house to the cemetery etc. Sorry I couldn't film the bar
Is the bar still open and there
There's no bar anymore
Thank you Harmon! I actually got goosebumps as you walked towards the Amityville horror house. I didn't realize that the house was still standing. So creepy, even in daylight. I wonder if it's haunted. Great job Harmon, keep up the great work! Stay safe and see you next time.
Who really knows IF there is or isn't Paranormal activity but if people actually live there they certainly have more cajones than I..
Yes thank you Harmin.
Thank you for sharing
the subject hit my horror chakra in the 1970s when it about 12y0 I read the Amityville Horror during a rain storm in New Jersey.. thank you for bringing it back up during Halloween what are you trying to scare the bejesus out of me??🎃👣👻☠️😡🧡
You know the house they used for the first movie is in Toms River
@@samanthab1923 👻💥🧡👻💥🧡 no I didn't!
Pretty good, Marvin!
What a tragic story.
Maybe next time, try to get a boat ride to see & film the back yard, show where the boat house was, and where the kids played, etc.
And perhaps mention the Lutz family, who had bought and moved into the house afterwards, only to flee from supposed supernatural entities!
Thanks Harmin!!! Stay safe out there my friend ❤
Wow! Hey, Harmin. Thanks for doing this video. I really enjoyed this. 😊
I'm surprised that no one has made a complete tour video regarding this crime. We have seen the house and resting place, but it would be interesting to see where he dumped the weapon, hid evidence like his clothing, spent cartridges etc, Brigante Buick etc. Glad you understand the facts of the case and aren't falling for the tales of a compulsive liar.
So sad story thanks for sharing that
Thank you, this was well done and I learned some new information about this famous story! RIP to the Defeo family 🙏
Thank ya Harmin!☮️🌼🐝safe
This was really good. Thank you for not going into the ghost hoax stuff and keeping it just on the actual crime.
I’ve heard the neighbors there get feisty with out of towners filming etc / I hope it went ok.😊
Here go Hollywood making money talking bout all the evil etc in the house the only evil one was ron
Hi I’ve always been into this case even read the book and saw the film in the late eighties . What a terrible tragedy take car on your travels
Hi Harmin!!! I hope all is well. I always look forward to seeing your videos and am looking forward to more to come.
Wow, you are in Long Island. You are all over Harmon. Lived in Long Island for several years.
Bloody awesome video! Happy Halloween 🎉🥳🎃
Wow! Great job!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I did hear a rumor that Dawn defeo had gun residue on her fingers and hands and definitely proven to have fired a gun that night
I believe that Dawn helped. Several years ago the autopsy photos and reports got leaked online. I’m talking very late 90s. IIRC it mentioned the residue on dawns night gown and hands. I’ve read several sources that Dawn wanted to move to Florida with her boyfriend and her dad wasn’t having it among other things. I think Dawn and Butch did the crime together and Butch took out Dawn in the end. More that I’d like to say regarding Dawn but I can’t get to graphic on UA-cam unfortunately
@@redlady8296 where is the link I would love to see Donna fails autopsy and I like to see the proof on paper or anything like that that proves that she fired again that night cuz every resource says it,, I remember I seen a documentary couple years ago about it here on UA-cam and Butch said after he killed his mom and dad he picked up the shells off the ground and went to the subway so he can dump it in the drainer and while he was gone that's when Dawn killed the four children and then when he got home and discovered it that's when he killed Dawn up close
@@redlady8296 I believe this to be true what you are saying I think she definitely had planned it with her brother
Rumors are not the truth
It's not a rumor. Dawn had unfired gunpowder residue on her nightgown. The house was also being staked out by a federal law enforcement officer and he reported seeing Dawn throw something in the water behind the house. Ronald, being a habitual liar, as well as having drug and alcohol addiction issues, was not the greatest historian so we'll never truly know. What is known is that this was an absolute tragedy and that there was serious dysfunction in the dynamics of this family. Actually, Ronald said he killed the parents with Dawn, he left to go to Brooklyn for more heroin ( because of course), and when he came back, Dawn had killed the children and that he then killed Dawn. But the mother was never blamed by anyone. The main source of conflict in the house seems to be the father. Others testified that he had physically abused Ronald Jr, and his wife and siblings, even when Ronald Jr was a toddler. The confusion, to me, is why would he kill his siblings, who he was reportedly very close with? If Dawn was involved, that's the issue that makes her participation possible. But, we'll never know and this is one of those cases where we should let the dead bury the dead.
Thanks! Great video as always!
I love your videos. Thank you ❤
He definitely was somewhat crazy in the head, but that's no excuse for what horrible things he did to his own family. Hopefully the monster will suffer for eternity in his own personal Hell. Nice job covering the real Amityville horror 🙌🙂
Not that this is any excuse but he was also physically abused by his father....so if he was gonna kill anyione it shouldve JUST been his father not his whole family, but again he was unstable and on alot of mind altering drugs...so everything combined made him a lunatic!
I have seen a few posts of this. This is by far the best. Thanks so much
Thanks Harmin! Top Guy! Fantastic channel!
Great video. Thanks Eric.
Hey Harmon,so good to see you and your videos, always love them and you stories. Be safe in your travels and God Bless you .
Yep you were there in the summer. Look at the green leaves on the trees. Love to see that.

Excellent video Harmin.
Great video!!
Thank you Harmin, for another wonderful video. Great filming, great narrative, everything is just excellent as always 😊😘😀 Keep yourself safe out there, seriously...
Thanks Harmin❤️
The locals despise anyone who comes to take a peek, just like with Borley Rectory…
Pawsome video Harmin. We really liked it and have always been obsessed with this story. 🙀Have a great week. 🍁🧡
Love this video! The Amityville Horror just happens to be my favorite book!
I couldn't imagine living in that house that had all those murders that took place, so tragic even though I was young when this happened, such madness happened, I'm almost positive that house has some spirits that are not at rest to this day ..
That's why the Lutzes got the house so cheap.
Congratulations on your 100,000.00 subs! 👍
Thanks for the cemetery video. Didn’t feel rushed. Appreciate the footage.
Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated 🙂👍💖
Thanks for the details of this case. I’ve heard of the place and seen pictures of the bourse. But I never knew the background information of what had happened.
Thanks so much for this upload, I'm sure the John List case is still on your "list."
oh that one freaks me out
List is another psychopath.
Thank you harmin for this video
Crazy it’s been almost 50 years! RIP to the DeFeos. What a terrible tragedy 😢
Harmon, I agree with you, he did it! I've watched Amityville over and over when we had a disc player. Wish they hadn't changed the house! I also had the book. Really enjoyed your video!
I think Butch (as he was also called) did it all by himself. I remember this story in the newspapers. I also remember one of my cousins (she lived in Brentwood, Long Island with her family) wanted to drive past that house. My Uncle (her Dad) forbade her to. He said he didn't want anything to "follow" her home. He was quite superstitious about stuff like that. As to whether or not it's haunted, well, haunted or not, 6 people were murdered there and that should be enough to give anyone the willies...it certainly does to me.
I’m doing a project on this in school (personal choice) & I haven’t heard of it in years & here you are doing the video! That’s so cool
Awesome Video, the book , High Hopes: The Amityville Murders is amazing, well written!!
A good one, great presentation!!! This is one of America’s biggest tragedies.
Yes always wanted to visit there
I saw the crime scene photos many many many years ago online. Morbid curiosity you could say, and I regret looking at them. What a terrible thing to happen to the family.
Thanks for posting this great video! 👍
FYI the house to your right ( at 1:45) with the white lamppost and the deer statue in the yard, is the first house that originally stood where the famous one stands now😉
Completely credible recount! Thank you. Believe me, you are rare breed. The twists, lies of the family members, Ronnie’s victims, and sympathetic tones for the killer have been nauseating for years. So glad true crime reports are posting the truth.
Good Luck....👍🤗
What I found curious about that house was how it was situated on the lot. It could be it was built before other houses were added, but I drove the entire length of Ocean Avenue, and every house was built with the front of the house facing the street. 112 was the only house with the front facing the house next door, and the side facing the street. After I parked and stood on the sidewalk looking at it, I had a feeling that cannot be described, knowing the awful crime that had been committed in there. RIP to the DeFeo family.
Hi Harmin! Good to see you!!! I remember when The Amityville Horror book and original movie came out. It terrified me. And all my friends. I think we were in sixth grade. Great upload!! Thank you!! 😊
He definitely acted alone.
I was in tenth grade. We couldn't get enough of it. 👻👻👀👀
I'm your Biggest Fan and I Love your UA-cam Videos all of them
Looks like quite a nice neighbourhood actually
I truly think that his dad pushed him past the point and he snapped. And his drug addiction didn't help the situation. This is one of the saddest cases.
I agree. After years of mental and physical abuse, mixed in with drugs and alcohol, Ronald snapped like a rubber band.
Do you know where Ronald is buried? Good to see you here on Long Island NY and don’t apologize you’re the best !
Good job, im hoping to do my own documentary myself one day.
My dream ...
NY and Amytyville 🥰
🇵🇱
Very heart breaking. Those lives cut short. Rest in peace.
Harmin, you had a little blur here on your exposure, I still gave you a thumbs up baby! :-)
Loving the beard 😍❤️
Txs Harmin 👍👋🙏🇮🇳
Great to get the real story. Very interesting Harmin many thanks. May they all RIP 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. I agree I think he was the one that committed these murders 👊👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
Very interesting and to actually see the original house. Can't understand how people can kill especially family love from West Yorkshire UK 🇬🇧💙💚
Beautiful neighborhood.
This is one of those stories that no one will never know the truth, I've seen so many documentaries and they said Ronald changed his stories so many times, you don't know what to believe. Especially about him drugging his family, and that has been proven not to be true by experts. But it's a good juicy and very sad story. Rip to the family 👪
Thank you Harmon I appreciate all your videos very sad for all the family, I agree he killed his family alone very horrific crime, Rest in Peace all the Defeo family🙏🙏👏👏
I live on Long Island and I've been to the house a couple of times, definitely not haunted. It is lovely though and wouldn't mind owning it myself. Ronnie died in 2021 that means that whole family is dead and buried. The Lutzes denounced the book that Jay Anson wrote, it was the Warren's that encouraged him to write the book, "Just make it scary." Anson died soon after the movie came out. I often wonder why this gets rehashed, why it hasn't been put to rest? I didn't like the 2005 version where Ryan Reynolds as George Lutz killed the dog. In the 1979 version, James Brolin as George Lutz saved the dog, Harry. 112 Ocean Ave became less about the DeFeo tragedy and more about the Lutzes.
