"Laminated screen" means that the layers of the screen are way closer to each other than the layers of non-laminated screens. It makes drawing on it a lot more natural, because there is no paralax and no "gap" - in other words, there is no perceptible distance between the pen tip and the pixel when you draw. The roughness or the smoothness of the screen's surface have nothing to do with lamination, it's just the way they choose to try to mimic the paper and pen feel, and to give more control to the user (its a nice feature, cuz normal glass is too slippy).
Thank you for actually showing the process and steps to set up the tablet and not just to showing how it looked when it came and taking things out of the box.. and my friend is left handed, & she's going to get a link to your video..
I'm a lefty , had a bad experience with the 13 Kamvas pro mainly cause of the driverz so was curious about it if they fixed anything. Yours seems to work better
I am not sure what kinds of problems you saw to address them directly, but I have been able to use mine just fine. I did mention in the video - with the Tablet in the left-handed mode, a lot of the system UI (settings built into the tablet) *is* upside down, but I have not needed to use those past the initial setup. I was able to get the screen and buttons oriented for left-handed use as shown here. ~6 months later I use it multiple times a week and am very pleased with it.
Yeah, finally a review on these tablets for us Lefty's! A ?, Do any of these tablets have touch on the screen to rotate, zoom in/out while drawing? and for animation may i recommend CTA 4. I need to ask around if anyone has used the monitor-tablets to help in animation projects. I can see them if you can do touch screen movements.
This tablet does not respond to touch from your hands, but you can use the pen to click and drag. I have 1 of the buttons bound to move the canvas, and I will hold that down while dragging with the pen to move around. I also have zoom bound to a key. I generally prefer when the screen does not respond to touch because I don't have to worry about accidentally tapping it. If you want a full touch screen, some kind of independent tablet (like an iPad or Samsung tablet) is probably your best bet.
I cannot find information on how to setup the left handed method when using a Dual Monitor that is Mirrored. Key word Mirrored. Reason being I have the Kanva13 which I find a little small to be using as an extended monitor. I am on windows 11 if that helps.
Hmm... I am not sure if this is possible. It's been a while since I messed with the settings but I think mirroring forces your tablet screen to be the same orientation as the monitor screen you're mirroring.
You literally helped me so so much with this video!! Thank you so so much!!! I’ve been spending the last hour and a half trying to figure out why the display wasn’t turning on. (Long story short, had to restart the computer lmao)
When you've connected the tablet to your PC it basically acts as another display, just like a monitor, so you can move app windows to the display the same way you would move a window to another monitor. Since I have configured the tablet to act as an additional display (not a mirrored one) I simply open the drawing app using the windows toolbar on that screen, or if it opens up on another screen I can drag it to the tablet display. In your system display settings you should be able to see the tablet display and howit is positioned compared to your other screen(s) so you know which direction to drag.
You can get drivers from Huion's official website on the Support page. There's a section there to download the drivers for whatever device you have, and you can install them to your computer. I would recommend uninstalling any existing drivers and restarting the computer before installing the new ones - this can help clean up old files.
I have the same tablet as you do but im very confused on how to work it, ive installed the drivers but im still struggling. Im using a macbook air and im unable to connect the hdmi cable, does that affect the fact that i cant use the tablet the same way you do?
I don't use a Mac, so I really can't help you here - but you will need to connect it *somehow*. If USB C does not work you'll probably need to look into an adapter of some sort.
Hi, Could you please tell me how to record the screen if I want to teach mathematics (using hand writing) and want to record my teachings as a video including audio? Can it be possible by using OBS Screen recorder?
The Huion Tablet acts as a display, so you can record it with anything that can record a display. You also have the option of recording within the programs you're using. How to use OBS isn't really within the scope of this video (or comment section).
how can i have both the tablet and the pc display the drawing app? (i extended the displays, flipped the tablet's canvas and changed the the monitor calibration to 180 degrees) i WOULD have both displays be merged but that means i'd have to use the tablet the normal way but im left handed so it'd be really awkward
I don't know of a way to duplicate a display but only flip one on them upside-down, so unfortunately I don't think this is possible. From what I can tell, duplicated/mirrored displays can only be set to the same orientation, at least on Windows. You might have more success contacting Huion support, I'm just a person on the internet. Good luck!
HI I love my table but it does not come with a stand! It is pro 16 model GT 156, has it happened to any of you with this model? It is new, from 2024. From Amazon
If the product listing for the tablet you bought says it should have come with a stand, you should contact the retailer. You'll also probably get more accurate information if you ask this question *on* the website you bought it from.
@iamwaterproof oh I see what you mean. Yes, you can only interact with this tablet with the stylus. When you said finger controls I thought you meant the buttons. Personally I consider this a bonus, as I mentioned in the review, because it eliminates accidental touches. If you were expecting something different it might be a good idea to return it, and get something like an iPad
@Savallion I'm trying it out and actually quite like it too. I have the pen configured with a space button to pan but I find the physical vertical zoom bar glitchy. Sometimes it does not work at all for some unknown reason. I just got it, so it might be something I'm doing.
It sure is. I have not used it for the modeling process, but I have used it occasionally for texture painting. As long as your computer is powerful enough to run the functions of blender that you want to use, you will be fine.
I'm sorry to hear that you can't draw on yours. If you want to try and figure it out, I'd recommend first installing the appropriate drivers from your tablet manufacturer's website & making sure it's firmly plugged in to power (& a display connection if it has a display)
Finally! A left handed review!!! Thank you! We litterally have the same background, software engineering, game dev and design, plus left hand 😊😊
ahh left handed reviewssss, theyre so hard to find
thank you so much for this review!
You're welcome! I am glad it was helpful.

I plugged it on the USB-C of my RTX GPU and it works with one cable only!
Thank you for sharing the setup guide! It helped me out a lot!
Thanks for the quick guide on how to set this up for left handers!

In terms of drivers this is far better than Wacom. Tested.

How do you get whatever app your using to draw to open up on the working area display????

so niche but I love it , out to the left handers !

Krita

@@Savallion it’s okay, i appreciate the help anyway so thank you!
I had to google sooo much cause it wouldn't turn on, you saved me with the power button
I'm glad it helped! It tripped me up pretty good.

got one for 180 from my friend whos an animator and I couldnt be happier.
That's a great deal! I hope it serves you really well :) I've had mine for a while now and it's still been perfect for what I need.
I have a new pro 16. Finger controls do not work. There is no touch screen input at all.
That's a bummer! I would recommend contacting Huion support.
@Savallion just discovered the Pro 16 has no touch functionality

I am searching for a drawing tablet to 3D model in blender so I wanted to ask If this model is capable of that 😅
It sure is. I have not used it for the modeling process, but I have used it occasionally for texture painting. As long as your computer is powerful enough to run the functions of blender that you want to use, you will be fine.

That's okay! It's fun to daydream sometimes.
@@Savallion Ya 😓
If you get the Parblo PR 100 Drawing Tablet Stand your life would improve 10 fold
