Blast Corps 100% All Platinum Medals Speedrun in
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 тра 2014
- Achieved on a real N64 console with a real N64 controller! Recorded using a Dazzle DVC 100 capture card.
Timing begins on file select and ends when you reach the world map showing all platinum medals after the final level. You can verify that I have all platinum medals because I skipped the "Now go for platinum!" cutscene, along with the "You can stop now" promotion cutscene. This is possible when your time attack times for every level are all under the platinum requirement before the cutscene would play.
This run is incredible because it managed to get a insanely low chance event of the carrier exploding in the credits, saving over a minute.
Here is a pastebin of my time-attack times for this run compared to platinum:

Most underrated game of N64. It's a piece of gold and to me, one of the best videogames of the N64.
One of the best of all time imo. It was a great experience playing it, with exploring, racing, destroying, and all that on a high skill demand with a great learning curve. Awesome gamedesign and till today something pretty unique. Even nowadays, aside from the looks, it hasn't lost any of it's qualities...Well it was made by Rare, so no surprise there :)
couldn't agree more. it did so much that was new. the mechanics and exploration and look and feel all made it stand out. great game
One The best games of ALL time! Thanks Rare!!!
You're just trying to impress me.
I thought she said "You're just trying to undress me." So that's what I've been doing wrong all these years....
@@Glitcher2000😏😏
You can't undress Amber,
she's your boss !
....there is NO try
impress or do not impress !
You’re just trying to impress me.
This game is an absolute gem, oh how I want this to have a remake soooo baaad.
Its funny to think that this game can be beaten in an hour and a half, 100%, when there are people who cant even get to the end.
Nevermind the secrets and bonuses.
those fucking dump truck levels man
This is so intense I can’t even explain.. platinum times are almost impossible, they take like 20 minutes just for a 12 second goal…
No trouble at all.
that part around 47:00 where you start honking the horn along with the song is very charming, i love it
It took me two years to get all the platinums!
Amazing playthrough of an amazing game. I tip my hat to you, sir!
at least you got them. I would consider myself lucky if I ever did it without cheating.
I played this as a kid with my mom! Been trying to think of the name of the game for so long, lots of nostalgia!
this is great, I'm watching the whole thing. I absolutely loved this game, most people I talk to don't remember it (or never played it or heard of it) at all! I agree with MunroM84 - needs a remake.
It has been 20 years since its release but, in hindsight, I believe this was my favorite game of the N64 generation. Mario64, Goldeneye 007 and Zelda: OoT were beyond amazing but this game was just so different and unique. What a blast it was to play, explore and discover everything then finally get platinum on all levels. Watching this video brings back numerous memories. A massive thank you for uploading this video.
I also agree with everyone who thinks a true sequel to this game should be released. Now, if only major game studios would be as creative in the market today as they were back then.
Your work is stellar and severely underrated. KEEP TRUCKIN'!!!
This is quite an incredible feat. I've gotten all platinums....just took way longer!BTW I love the honking along with the beat of the music you do sometimes. I often just cant resist myself!
Oyster harbour gives me fuckin nightmares
Oyster Harbour requires you to use your brain. That gives you nightmares?
Holy shit you platinumed all the levels in 1 speedrun? Jesus fuck man.... RESPECT. I took off my hat brother.
Seriously a lot of respect to this man right here.
Fucking loved this game. Wish they'd remaster it and put it up on XBL or the PS store. Hell, I'd even take a remastered/remake on the Wii Shop.
+Whatever Whocares
Now your wish is fulfilled on 360...
Welcome to the switch baby
This was the greatest game ever made on N64!!!!!!! I love this. GG
You're just trying to impress me!!!!
Good job, dude!
There was a Mars level? Man... my childhood can finally rest.
Yea, and even a Mercury-, Venus- and Nephtun-Level 😄
24:54 Oops lol...Great job though!! This was a favorite of mine on the N64 and it took me way longer...
20:09 Whoa whoa whoa WHOA what the hell??
xD
"Where we're going, we don't need roads."
god i hated that level. To see how easy he makes it...ugh
What is this witchcraft
As a kid, I thought platinum was impossible. After seeing that it was indeed possible to get platinum from watching videos like yours, I fired up the old N64 and was able to do it - of course, no where near as fast and efficient as you. Like it's been said before: "You're just trying to impress me!" Amazing job - thanks so much for sharing! Blessings to you! ~ John 11:25-26
This was pretty well optimized. I admit you could've probably cut a few corners here and there, but you would've overall saved a few seconds at best. Still, I love how you essentially just wrecked through this game without batting an eye.
I remember watching this a long time ago, thinking that it was just a cool thing to watch. Little did I know that years later, I would be doing the same thing as you.
Fucking underrated piece of gold
you mean piece of platinum ;)
20:06 My god that Backlash, how it glitched out so close to the carrier.
Thanks!!!
This confirms that I can go back and find all scient's and unlock all planets past Moon?
I hit a snag and didn't get past it for some odd reason.
But all platinum at the end O.O *tips hat off and bows down very deep down out of respect so my spine hurts*
You're just trying to impress me :)
No but seriously nice job dude. I am working on getting all platinum, and hope to from there try an all platinum run.
We must keep this game's memory alive!!!
Nice man, good luck. If you ever want to get into actually running, just let me know and I will hook you up with everything you need (I love watching people play this game). Whether you are trying to get all plats casually or by speedrunning, this may help you out: blastcorps.us
Thanks! I may PM you at a later date.
I've never seen that site before either, god I love this game.

You're just trying to depress me.
This game is soo unique and so genius i will love it till i die.
You are such a master at the dump truck.
Wow a real flashback i had this game omg
WHEN B.A.HAS NO MILK, THE VAN GETS SUPER POWERS!!
One of the best games of all time.
The skill of sliding the dump truck was so much fun to learn
240p and it still looks great. thanks for the up
Spent massive amount of hours on this game and still didnt manage to get all the platinums. What a masterpiece!Deserve a remake/remaster.I will buy a switch in a snap if nintendo decide to release it.Will definetly let my boy to play it even if its on emulator.
If you own one of the newer xboxes it's on the rareware game collection disk
FISSION MAILED. LOL, great run none-the-less
nicework
Full respect!!!
Those pacman style levels were the ones that got me as a kid. I never could quite get a gold on the harder of the two, which stopped my progress there. I have to wonder if it would be easier now, or if my patience is too thin these days lol.
Kruhl Sentru Well, make sure to do it on the real deal, because it is a lot harder on an emulator, trust me. I've been trying for days for the platinum time, but 1:15 on GG seems like it would require perfect routing.
The biggest pacman level is the only platinum medal i did not get. It was 18 seconds faster than my best try so i resigned.
you just try to impress me
This is my childhood right here.
I think it took me over 4 years to get all the Platinum metals. Magma Peak was my last one and our route through was identical until the last two targets.
WTF???? just awesome :O
"You're just trying to impress me"
1:21:03 This shuttle disaster brought to you by the Tampa Bay Lightning
Lmao
Time to get movin!
53:42 good to know, even in a speed run, that this level is exactly as annoying as I remember it
What did you think of the Pac-Man levels?
Joe Berg - Even a speed runner who knows what they're doing inside-out still makes it look clunky (to the untrained eye).
at the end of the pool table level, "not a scratch on it"
i see what you did there ;)
Great game.
1:12 I never knew I could complete this race so quickly lol
1:11:57-1:12:21 hahahaha
1:11:57-1:12:21 🤣🤣🤣WTF??? I spent hours getting platinum medal and you just 20 seconds this
WTF I remember Ebony Coast being WAY harder, or at least more time consuming... Like I'm pretty sure it was impossible to not use the crane
Best Game Rare EVER made
3:38 both the tnt and the cement block moved?
A Gamer God among Men
Those giant bouncy metal balls feel so out of place.
Holy fk. Insane
Hey man this is amazing. I need to longplay this game for my channel soon and I have two questions which I hope you can answer. -- Firstly, I want to show all levels, does it require a gold medal on all stages to do this? Secondly, would you be interested in playing this game casually for our channel? I can add you to the video producers, pin your comment for some channel promotion and send you $20 if you'd like that.
I was hopeing for years that they make a sequel to this for the first X-Box but they never made 1.
If I remember correctly, getting all the platinum medals, despite any time limit, was HARD. I don't now how many I got.
I d love to know how many hours of practice went into this i bet like 99 hours
Forgets to boost horn at sand for the entire video..
Dat sideway drift tho
This is effin pro
d'oh! d'oh! d'oh! d'oh! d'oh!

One of my most favourite questions to a speedrunner probably is "Which song in this game is your absolute favourite?".. So tell me which song is it? :D I like cromlech court and skerries also known as jade plateu. :D
I loved this game. But I never understood why you would have to go back and destroy everything to win? I would try to destroy the minimum when I was clearing the path.
IF Nintendo releases a Nintendo 64 Classic in 2025 THIS GAME needs to be on it
In 2012 I always played blast corps
Try this for size!
I completed this game back in the 90’s. Theres only one thing i can say about this video:
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
Can anyone please tell me how do u get to mars? I completed everything
3:38 Ghost block
I didn't understand the promotional thing at all, but in your run it is annoying.
Very good speedrun :)
I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid, and I had no clue what the hell I was doing :p.. I heard that getting all platinum medals is kind of a waste considering there is no real reward. (Doesn't the game literally tell you to stop playing?)
lol the carrier exploded to early... (how) can you influence this because you said it's a low chance trick?
and how much time can possibly/ realistically be cut?
So far there is no way to influence it. This is the first time this has ever been caught on video (it has happened twice to peaches_ in 2009 and never again since, until now). I just got really fucking lucky lol. I hope someday there is a setup as it likely saves around a minute to minute and a half.
If you include this miracle explosion in the credits, the perfect run is probably a low 1:32 or high 1:31... but I am never gonna try for it since the chance of me getting this event to reproduce is so small, let alone getting it to happen during the perfect run. Without the explosion, it would require near perfect execution to beat this time... though it is doable.
1:02:00
1:00:48 hahahah nice!
How did you are so fast ?!?
29:25 my most hated Stage in the Game
Not a scratch on it!
45:10 Ha Ha someone really has Fun here. I hate that Stage
Any luck reproducing the credits glitch in an emulator to figure out what happened?
nope :/
It was explained at AGDQ that it's a glitch where the driver appears in the end credits and walks into the water, causing the level to end early and the carrier to explode.
what are the succinct differences in using d pad versus stick?
+ranger135xp d-pad is nice for when you want instantaneous transition from left to right or neutral to left/right. it also makes setups for clipping out of bounds much easier, since the stick is analog compared to d-pad being digital input. all vehicles except for the j-bomb and thunderfist and your person can move with dpad
Thank you, +Graviton. I'm starting to get the hang of backlash. I keep practicing on salvage wharf and can now complete it with 20-30 second left. I'd like to see a video of you completing salvage wharf with backlash regardless of time. I'm more interested in technique. Your skill is awesome.
+ranger135xp this isn't me but this japanese guy is really good at backlash stuff. it is a good reference: ua-cam.com/video/vzDDQrAaFA0/v-deo.html
As a guy who just skipped through parts of the videos for nostalgia reasons, why do you leave Crystal Rift without a gold medal by the time you've beaten the moon/planet missions?
***** When doing Crystal Rift the first time, it's impossible to get a time that will be platinum before time attack mode is unlocked because pushing the square blocks is not required in time attack... but it is required for the first time. The same applies to echo marches (train and boat is not required) and simian acres (entering truck not required). For these three levels, completing them 100% in the first entry and coming back after unlocking time attack mode is the only way to get a platinum. For every other level in the game, it is possible to achieve a platinum medal on the first entry because the platinum medal times are easy enough such that driving to the truck or doing anything else does not make it impossible (time attack does not require driving to the truck obviously).
+Graviton About to see you run this at AGDQ. Good luck, can't wait to see the reaction to the credits explosion.
[edit] was good
How do we know you got a platinum on Neptune?
No trouble at all :D
I'm trying to pass diamond sands
What is the whole point of Rdus?
+TheMinecraftNerd
Radiation Dispersal Unit, used to disperse the radiation that the truck is leaking. As you drive by you are turning them on.
No. Radiation Detection Units (or RDUs), are units in Blast Corps that were used probably for detecting radiation, and for looking around the level.
How did you manage to have the Carrier explode in the credits?
HereticYoshi ua-cam.com/video/g8UETdsJixA/v-deo.html - the description of that video should help as well
😮
スーパーロボット大戦参戦してほしいです。
1:19:50 How did you get the carrier to explode early here during the credits?
quitting out of the thunderfist demo cutscene stores a specific control stick value equal to what position the stick on screen is holding on that final frame. assuming you do not ever enter a replay or demo scene after this point, this stored stick position value will continue to be held in the credits. the credits sequence actually has your human player turned invisible and positioned off screen (since you have no reason to control any vehicles), but he can actually move if there is a stored value on the demo stick position. the value stored from thunderfist demo is intentionally an angle that makes your invisible player run into a glitchy out of bounds location in the credits map, which auto detonates the carrier
i should say that in this run specifically, this whole thing happened on accident. but future speedruns use this as a predictable way to recreate the glitch
What if you
Wanted to go to heaven
But God said
32:00
lo termine como 4 veces :D
No !!
