Thanks for all your kind words and the critical words, too. There are 363 thumbs up at the moment and one thumb down. I know, that this is the holy grail piece of music for all ABBA Fans obviously. And so far as I read the comments, some like the Sax Version more, some don't like Saxophon at all. For a musician like me, I must say, I love saxophon where it fits. But it's the same with horns and marimba, organs and so on. There is a very good saxophon version on youtube, too. First, thanks a million for posting this. It's the highest sonic quality I've heard for this song. I'd echo most of the positive comments. My only critiques would be: I find the drums a bit too forward, just a bit unbalanced to the point I have to try and actively ignore them to concentrate on the vocals. Also, I hate the sax version and prefer the na na na version by far (sax on almost all ABBA songs are a low point IMO). Fortunately you didn't "spoil" the song with too much sax and if it had to go anywhere, the outro best 🙂

Trust me, those 2 idiots B&B don't need a reason to be down on their songs-there's a long list of what they don't like, it's a wonder they ever completed anything. Couldn't even keep the original part of the 2nd verse in 'Dancing Queen' or repeating a 1st verse in 'When All Is Said And Done' nor the extra bit in 'On And On And On', and dumping a whole important verse in 'I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do', which would have been their earliest longest song had they been normal. Yes, but they were never going to do that, cos that's what B&B are like. Anyway, it wouldn't fit any other album, it is of its time and it needed to be with the OTHER songs made from 1982, so they should have put it out as a B-side to the single releases from the album-THAT was where they typically messed up all right. But considering "Voyage" is far beneath the outstanding quality of the "Opus 10" material, which I complete by adding the 4 CHESS singles to it, not least the wonderful 'Nobody's Side-'CHESS's most underrated song, which is so meant to be Frida's fiery vocals when angry-even Elaine Paige said (who sang it) that she felt she was singing "somebody else's song". But thank God she did, otherwise we'd never have it, would we?
@@AdamDawson3 Do you know what, there's no way ABBA would make 'I Am The City' a single-they'd already buggered the perfect 'Cassandra' and 'You Owe Me One' by forcing them to be B-sides, but I agree, they would've been pared together very likely, only 'Just Like That' if they'd let it out, would've been the A-side, they seemed to be going crazy for Agnetha's vocal only for singles in their last 3yrs as a group. So many of their greatest songs never got made singles, or a few that did usually only in a few countries, and often not the UK! Though we obviously collect their albums, of the 2 grand legendary compilations, I find "More Gold" far more valuable as it's chock full of songs more likely to be my favourites than on the 1st, and all songs on it are underrated, to say nothing of most things not on either.

Until that day My life had been a river Following a safe predestinated course Suddenly detouring so unexpectedly With uncompromising force My strongholds broke down all too easily I remember well How he did embarrass me I hung on to his every smile Marveled at his style Just like that He walked into my house as smug as a cat He was handsome and smart Walked away with my heart Just like that He found a temporary home in my flat Telling innocent lies Throwing dust in my eyes But I lead him on Knowing that someday soon he'd be gone Just like that As though he'd only stopped a while for a chat But my secrets he learned Leaving no stone unturned And once again The river's flowing slowly Following its safe and uneventful course Now the tears have dried It's become a pleasant break I recall without remorse But now and then I wonder where he is And I will admit He had something that I miss I guess he was a rolling stone The only one I've known
A future release? ...Just Like That! I am sure this great track will be released in some shape or form ....don't worry folks.otherwise we wouldn't have anything to look forward from Abba plus any other tracks we don't know about..... there's always hope.
Great song for "unreleased" list! I remember BB said it was strange, they thought the verses and the refrain were alike taken from different songs. Sometimes as being musician I listen JLT again and again and understand what they meant. But the song is so grateful in whole. No doubt it cold be on Voyage
It is, to me, just so amazing how their voices blend so perfectly together…they sound almost like just ONE voice! I could listen to that “voice” “on and on and on”….
@normaerb5825 .... this is what they refer to when they say it's the third vocal in there! ...really concentrate and listen behind the vocals and you'll hear Frida's lower octave, she's definitely in there!....i love all the informative comments here, I'm a drums, percussion and bass guitar fan and it does pain me to say this, but i agree that the drums are more in the forecourt but all i do is change the settings in my ear pods and we're good to go... take care. 🤗
No it wouldn't, any more than all their last single releases of that time were, by that time the stupid UK public, and others, were being ridiculously uninterested in ABBA with their best stuff, about the only group who ever gave up the ghost at the height of their creative and brilliant powers. It's even more criminal that 'Cassandra', 'I Am The City' and 'You Owe Me One' weren't singles considerations, especially the first 2.
Hello Abba Fans. Many of you can't understand the reason why they didn't record this beautiful song on an album. In an interview Benny told us the reason why. There is another unknown song from Abba that most of you have probably never heard before and that song is similar to "Just like that". Some sequences and passages in both songs seem to be the same. So they had a problem with the identity of the song "Just like that". Benny said that they tried to repair it in the music studio but according to him it didn't work. And therefore they didn't want to make a record of it. Check Abba's unknown song "When the waves roll out to sea."
@@zinlucascamargo Agree, even though the lyrics doesn't fit with each other, and even B&B doesn't have any plan to release this song, this song is still good and nobody will change my mind.
It's crazy that they reworked the throwaway JUST A NOTION for VOYAGE rather than resurrect this beloved composition - among their very best songs with a KILLER chorus - I don't care about your damn verses that "don't agree" Bjorn!
This is the first time I've heard this version, and I agree that it's the best one I've heard. I wonder what it will take for them to release this commercially, Benny and Bjorn have to know it's available online.
Superb the best version ever, whatever magic has been applied its done a grand job, i know Frida's voice is absent but in the chorus its as though she is. Love the sax at thr end not overly done which is just right. Such a good song by our heroes, 10/10 😊
Frida's vocals are in the chorus on the sax version and she is doing backing vocals on the second verse she is 100% featured on the recording of 'Just Like That'.
Dear ABBA members, please please please release us from our agony and release this masterpiece as an extra track on The visitors album. I think it’s high time, and we all would be so incredibly grateful
I love it, thank you much, so grateful for your work in making this a finished complete song. This song would have been a hit and to this day just cannot understand why the band did not finish / release this tune.
Don't know that any Abba fan can work out why B &B refused to release JLT, so what if its got riffs from Under Attack, which in my opinion was far less appealing. Had Abba released this in 82 it would have been a big hit for them, along with The Day Before you came at no 1 ❤
This may not be fair to "Under Attack" but every time I hear a different version of 'Just Like That' knowing that all they were able to salvage from it was "Under Attack", I want to weep. Every rough cut version of 'Just Like That' just blows ' Under Attack" out of the water. 'Just Like That' deserved better if I'm being honest.
i agree! Under attack should just be a B-side not even an Album song. because even their previous album's song is better! Its like they want to fail on purpose.
This is such a beautiful song with wonderful vocals by Agnetha and Frida. Benny and Bjorn for some reason don't rate this a good song. It is so catchy and i can't get it out of my head. Maybe if Benny and Bjorn are ashamed of this wonderful song and don't want Abba's name on it. They could change their name to Steve and Dave and put the record out by ASDA. Just a thought. I am a professional Saxophonist, and i'm not keen on the Sax Version. Just a load of busy notes. More soul from the Sax i think. If they want i'll do the sax for them. I have worked with McCartney and Wings. lol.x
I'm a HUGE fan of ABBA and I agree with you, their vocals are clear and the music isn't muddled. If ABBA does not release this an engineer should try cleaning this version up and present it to the world. The only mix I liked other than this is the Matt Pop remix.
Matt Pop is a Genius. I like his Abba-Mixes a lot. But there are a lot of Abbafans which don't like his versions. I tried to give my remix the most possible Abba-Style in my opinion. Thanks for your words 🙂
one of five of my all time favourites from my all time favourite group. thanks for your hard work, great job. loved it. and i had never noticed that at 0.11 the sample from 'under attack'. cool. thanks for posting, love and peace to you and all, xxxxxxx
Fantastic song big abba fan from almost the start since about 1976 when I first got into music. Play them almost always on you tube, spotify and my shows on internet radio. This song definately should’ve been released.
Do you know what, I actually don't think you're wrong at all, this is the clearest and fullest and most embodied sounding one yet. In fact, my only niggle is one that I don't think anyone can help in trying to upload this in its most complete form, and that it seems to cut off and fade too early into abruptness. But I'm not sure anyone can avoid, so all power to you for making it appear so beautiful. I took the longest version I could find about 13years ago, it ran to 5:08; naturally, with me I want the longest version possible, as ABBA are dreadful when it comes to cutting songs-they take something that's often too short already and then shave it even more, as they done with many official songs. While this did for me for ages, and I still love it, it is admittedly rather flat in too many ways, and while it got to past 5mins, it obviously faded a bit too abruptly, and it was not the na-na-na version either, and there was no sax, as I felt it was not needed, but on this, I agree the sax so works, and it comes in at the right moment too. I love what you've done, I've heard many little tricks, like going into the chorus sounds so natural, there's far more beef to this one, while retaining its elegance and tragedy and mournfulness. I look forward to keeping it if possible.
I agree with many of the comments here - it's probably my favorite ABBA song, but I doubt it'll ever see the light of (release) day. B and B didn't like it back in the day - and so they scrapped it for parts. It's interesting to hear bits of it floating by in other songs (Under Attack, being notable) and then the full rewrite also called "Just Like That" performed by the duo Gemini. The refrain found its way into another song called "When the Waves Roll Out to Sea" which was considered for Chess. At this point, this gem of a song has been turned into somewhat of a reverse-Frankenstein and may be unsalvageable.
@@BenTaxan No, B&B have stated there was a mismatch between the verse and chorus. They reworked it into an overproduced, boring version for Gemini. Benny maintains they will never release it because they're just not happy with it. It's a shame they couldn't include it on Voyage - Just A Notion is very weak tea in comparison.
ABBA will never release this now but I am waiting/expecting to hear the other two new songs that didn't make it onto Voyage as they needed more tweaking in the studio by Benny. He said they were ''good'' & IMO that means that the're very good.

Странно Вы опоздали с предложение лет на40
Until that day
My life had been a river
Following a safe predestinated course
Suddenly detouring so unexpectedly
With uncompromising force
My strongholds broke down all too easily
I remember well
How he did embarrass me
I hung on to his every smile
Marveled at his style
Just like that
He walked into my house as smug as a cat
He was handsome and smart
Walked away with my heart
Just like that
He found a temporary home in my flat
Telling innocent lies
Throwing dust in my eyes
But I lead him on
Knowing that someday soon he'd be gone
Just like that
As though he'd only stopped a while for a chat
But my secrets he learned
Leaving no stone unturned
And once again
The river's flowing slowly
Following its safe and uneventful course
Now the tears have dried
It's become a pleasant break
I recall without remorse
But now and then
I wonder where he is
And I will admit
He had something that I miss
I guess he was a rolling stone
The only one I've known
A future release? ...Just Like That!
I am sure this great track will be released in some shape or form ....don't worry folks.otherwise we wouldn't have anything to look forward from Abba
plus any other tracks we don't know about..... there's always hope.
Such angelic voices and sounds a superb cure of depression of some sort
Great song for "unreleased" list! I remember BB said it was strange, they thought the verses and the refrain were alike taken from different songs.
Sometimes as being musician I listen JLT again and again and understand what they meant. But the song is so grateful in whole. No doubt it cold be on Voyage
It is, to me, just so amazing how their voices blend so perfectly together…they sound almost like just ONE voice!
I could listen to that “voice”
“on and on and on”….
I am firmly convinced this is just Agnetha. I simply cannot detect Frida's voice on it.
@@srenjensen5735exactly, this song was only released by Aghneta singing all the voices .
@normaerb5825 .... this is what they refer to when they say it's the third vocal in there! ...really concentrate and listen behind the vocals and you'll hear Frida's lower octave, she's definitely in there!....i love all the informative comments here, I'm a drums, percussion and bass guitar fan and it does pain me to say this, but i agree that the drums are more in the forecourt but all i do is change the settings in my ear pods and we're good to go... take care. 🤗
This is an absolutely fantastic version. Thanks from a Abba fan since 1974.😀
I Love this song!!
❤ ABBA Always!
Love this song girls are brilliant singer only abba can sound like abba they ireplaceable ❤
You did a great job with ABBAs hidden gem from 1982. Yuu did it "just like that"
I really like this song so much.A pity ABBA did not release JLT.....A great version here..thank you.
The close harmonies in this is just so awesome!
I can’t stop listening to this song…such close harmony! 💕
this is not just a song. this is a masterpiece of composition and performance. incredible. hope they will release this soon. it's never too late ;-)
This is such a great song - would probably be one of ABBA’s biggest hits if it had been released. Hoping it will be one day!
Gli Abba non si discutono tutto o niente amore infinito❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oktober 2024, hooked and on repeat. 🎉❤😢
This makes me weep with joy. What a song. Thank you so much for the upload. 😢
Its a gem of a song absolutely beautiful
Hello Abba Fans.
Many of you can't understand the reason why they didn't record this beautiful song on an album. In an interview Benny told us the reason why. There is another unknown song from Abba that most of you have probably never heard before and that song is similar to "Just like that". Some sequences and passages in both songs seem to be the same. So they had a problem with the identity of the song "Just like that". Benny said that they tried to repair it in the music studio but according to him it didn't work. And therefore they didn't want to make a record of it. Check Abba's unknown song "When the waves roll out to sea."
Nobody cares, screw what they think, we want it. 😂😂😂
@@zinlucascamargo Agree, even though the lyrics doesn't fit with each other, and even B&B doesn't have any plan to release this song, this song is still good and nobody will change my mind.
That Is To Understand, Abba ,Is Abba.!!!
0:11 The guitar solo plays the same notes as Angnetha sings in "Under Attack".
yes . one reason why the song is not released by B&B
Superb the best version ever, whatever magic has been applied its done a grand job, i know Frida's voice is absent but in the chorus its as though she is. Love the sax at thr end not overly done which is just right. Such a good song by our heroes, 10/10 😊
you listened very carefully. Thanks for your kind words
Frida's vocals are in the chorus on the sax version and she is doing backing vocals on the second verse she is 100% featured on the recording of 'Just Like That'.
Wow…definitely the best version I’ve heard.
This song is amazing !
This is an incredibly beautiful song!! I wish they would release it soon!❤❤❤❤
Dear ABBA members, please please please release us from our agony and release this masterpiece as an extra track on The visitors album. I think it’s high time, and we all would be so incredibly grateful
I love it! Those vocal harmonies, hmmmm.
Ура! Ура! Ура! рыцарям песен, свободы, радости, новых песен🌹🌹👍👍💚😍
I've never heard this before and I am a huge Fan of ABBA since I am 13 years old 🎉❤ beutiful song ❤❤
Had Abba released this in 82 it would have been a big hit for them, along with The Day Before you came at no 1 ❤
@@lawrencecolwell5527 totally sgree
TDBYC *was* released ... and wasn't a huge hit. Even now in the days of streaming it is still kind of a flop. Fans live in their own fantasy world.
Осознание мелодии придёт позже
Ive never heard this song in my life?? Love it !!
Excellence at the Best, FABULOUS. ! The 4 of you are very Special! Thanks for sharing your gift! Forever touched by your music!
Agreed!! Under Attack not a patch on this. Guys I love you but you should have released this as a single ❤
@@janparish7895 Under Attack is one of ABBA's best songs its extremely catchy and underrated
@AdamDawson3 We'll have to agree to disagree Adam. I can't bear U.A. But it's OK. We all have our different opinions and that's as it should be.
"Under Attack" borrows more heavily from "Rubber Ball Man"/"Under My Sun" than "Just Like That", which reuses one guitar riff.
i agree! Under attack should just be a B-side not even an Album song. because even their previous album's song is better! Its like they want to fail on purpose.
WOW best version indeed! this is on a loop WHOLE NIGHT!!!
I have worked with McCartney and Wings. lol.x
Hi, thanks for your comment. The Sax-Solo is played by Raphael Ravenscroft , the guy who played the signature-intro of Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street.
It would be great if they released this as their last song ! Always hopeful of a surprise 😮
Почему????
@user-lv4dh1mg2h Because its Stunning!!!!!
Ah wait for music to come soon not old but new!
This is really the best song of their last years in 1980s. It just is.
I consider it their best song - period!
God no remixes ruin the original recording
Rapaz, sem palavras p essa canção. Chega assustar de tão linda q é canção. Abba o sempre.
Parece que nao colocaram esta música no álbum, fizeram mal pois penso que seria mais um sucesso . ABBA para sempre ! 👍
I can respect why they didn't want it released. Be happy with what we got. 🙏
And why's that then?
@@BlackRose22998 I'm not sure what you're asking????
Flawless vocals as would be expected, but different kinda production than their 70's stuff too, very fresh. Could've easily been an 80's hit.
What a gem screaming RELEASE ME!!! Thank you for sharing. Pure perfection🤗🤗🤗🤗
You put together the three versions of Just Like That -the slow, the na-na, and the sax version-, and this is just gold. Thank you
MASTERPIECE
Хорошая музыка наполняет сердце и душу счастьем.
И счастьем и грустью одновременно. И полетом и падением.
one of five of my all time favourites from my all time favourite group.
thanks for your hard work, great job.
loved it.
and i had never noticed that at 0.11 the sample from 'under attack'. cool.
thanks for posting,
love and peace to you and all,
xxxxxxx
Great version is autentic these voices!!!!!
Abba forever❤❤❤❤.
Great job
Inma
Fantastic song big abba fan from almost the start since about 1976 when I first got into music. Play them almost always on you tube, spotify and my shows on internet radio. This song definately should’ve been released.
I love this version.❤
This is the best version ive ever heard. Thank you for pain steakingly creating this remastered piece. Blessings to you !!!❤😊 2
Na na na version is also good. Actually na na na version is my best. It sounds so nostalgic.
I love it sooooo much 😍😍😍😍
Some of this tune is used in the melody of Under attack. So I would assume this is why it wasn't released.
❤ Ein toller Song. Wie alle von ABBA ❤❤❤❤
Maravillosa!!!! Calidad óptima y versión completa. Un 10!!
At this point, this gem of a song has been turned into somewhat of a reverse-Frankenstein and may be unsalvageable.
i dont get how they released songs like ''Tropical Loveland'', but never this masterpiece
this is incomplete.
@@richardmcnick Maybe it's time to finish it and launch it!
as far as i know a demo of it was stolen and that was the reason why they didn't release it.
If you want to feel better, listen to ABBA. Get a dose of love.❤
I think it is amazing! You have done a great job! Specially Benny, but also Agneta, Frida and Bjorn would be very pleased!
Last days I often listen this wonderful "na-na-na" & another parts of this beautiful song)
Really, original version of this superhit.
love this song
It’s ABBA treasure you can’t measure 🤔👍
Wow there is a guitar line from under attack in the intro
ABBA will never release this now but I am waiting/expecting to hear the other two new songs that didn't make it onto Voyage as they needed more tweaking in the studio by Benny. He said they were ''good'' & IMO that means that the're very good.
Felicitaciones, viva Abba
verry great
ABBA 😊
Insuperable la voz de Agnetha, ésta seguirá siendo la mejor versión 😊
Thank you for the release !
Another classic I didn't know about. Thank you for sharing ❤
YES! I was hoping for the la la la version. The best one to me too.
