Amanda - your video is a great and easy step by step tutorial on how every company should create an engaging and personal video that covers their mission, products/services, credibility and the all important call to action that drives specific results. Writing the script for a brand video is tougher than most people imagine until they sit down and try. So this outline is going to help a ton of people! I've worked at a video company here in Austin that did videos for Home Depot, Verizon, Dell, AutoZone, Macy's, ToysRUs, Vera Bradley and even GoPro. You, they and I all know that video works. Bullet points of hesitations that they may be facing and address them with key points about my service
#4 Social proof
Testimonials or B roll showing proof of concept (others have come before them)
#5 Call to action
One step that they need to engage with you. How do they do business with me and why should they call now

If you’re producing a video for a company that wants to be elusive about the details Of the actual product - and at the same time get the word out to spark the interest of the customer demographic - what would your general advice be? More testimonial based content ?

I actually think that being elusive about the details is a good thing, because too many people get bogged down in the details! I think the formula would be the same -- focus on their problem, really build up that gap of what they are missing and then focus on the OUTCOME that the customers will get from the product. Just needs to be enough to spike interest and get them to take the call the action. : )

I've been working a lot doing brand and touch-point management, packaging and web related tasks for many small companies mainly in Sicily (Italy) and lately I've been trying to add "video" services to my business offering. I'm actually starting to shoot some stuff at my expenses with some clients that allow me to start creating a video portfolio, win-win situation, but if I don't do this the right way it might backfire on me. I can just honestly say that after watching your videos all this "me-creating.video-content" stuff seems a little bit more probable. Thanks for that.
I would really like to see a video (or video series) of how you approach a project (from the start until the publishing of the video)... I think I would be willing to pay for a guide like that... ;-)
One of the most significant series that inspired me to dig deeper in the video world (as a business) was the Envato "Producing Great Video" course on tuts+ (it's from 2012 but it is amazing even today) I think that a "branding/marketing video" version of that, made by you, would be very nice.

I don't have a product, I'm a Realtor, so I guess I'm service based. Great tips on staging the scenario of helping a client with a friend. Past clients usually allow a photo and will happly write a review, but I have never gotten one to agree to let me take a video!
