They made that video in 4 hours. It is the first music video made for promotional purposes. MTV should thank them.

Look, I know this is a belief often stated by Queen fans, but the fact is that the Beatles had made a number of 'promotional films' - as they were then known, before the advent of video technology - back in the 1960s. These became progressively more creative as time went on, culminating in the 'videos' for Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, and A Day in the Life.
The BR video can be seen as a new step up in creativity in the genre, for sure, but it's really only building on what the Beatles had been doing a few years earlier.
As Brian May himself once put it: "The Beatles were our Bible. They opened the doors, and we all walked through." He went on to explain how, with ever improving technology, Queen and other bands of the 70s and beyond were able to take things further and in some cases, produce something better. But he never claimed Queen were the first at anything, including at making music promotion films.

Mike Nesbitt would disagree. He claims (Wrongly) that his video for "Rio" was the first true pop video for his invention: MTV.
In fact, starting with the Beatles, and all the bands of the 60s, Abba in the 70s...they all HAD to make "Promo" vids because they simply couldn't play all the TV studios of the world at the same time!!

    • @michaelforsythe8682
      @michaelforsythe8682 2 місяці тому +3

Ridiculous statement . Promotional videos were common place in the 60s. After the Beatles stopped touring they released a promotional video for every single one of those songs they released as a single .
So did the stones and almost every other act of the day .

There has never been anything like this before and never will be again. Freddie Mercury is phenomenal. And the guitar player is way underrated, partly because he is so low key, but also because NO ONE can shine beside Freddie, he shines so brightly. But the guitarist is an astrophysicist and actually wrote a Queen song about Einsteinian relativity (the song '39).

It IS very cool that the bassist wrote one of their biggest hits, the song is fantastic…but, if you want to hear good bass playing, that’s not really a song to showcase John Deacon. The bass in that song is pretty simple and repetitive. If you want a good song written by John, you go with Another One Bites the Dust. If you want a good bass line played by John, go to Millionaire Waltz. If you want a good song written by John WITH good bass, try You And I.

The image of their four heads is a recreation of the cover of their second album, Queen II. To see them 10 years later check out their 1985 Live Aid performance where they open with a shortened version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddie passed in 1991 from AIDS, John Deacon the bass player retired from music a few years later, and Roger Taylor the drummer and Brian May the guitarist still tour with Adam Lambert. Dr. Brian is an astrophysicist who has worked with NASA. There are many theories about what the song really means, but Freddie never said. He wrote it over the course of a few years. One of their songs, Don't Stop Me Now, has been ranked as one of the top songs that make you happy.

While all members were devastated by Freddie's death and they all took it hard, John Deacon was the most tore up. He idolized Freddie and thought the world of him.
When Freddie died he tried to carry on but, just could not do it anymore. He came to do one or two shows after for the band but, it was just too hard for him.
The mourning was very deep and he may still feel the loss today. He is living an extremely quiet life and keeps to himself and his family.

Iconic song that has been played without pause for 50 years. This is a fantastic band and my absolute favorite. Thank you for your reaction. I think technology has made panning easier these days but back when this was recorded, the way it was achieved was by splitting the stereo manually. The engineers back then really had to have game to create these outstanding songs.

The members are: John Deacon - bass. Roger Taylor - drums. Brian May - Lead Guitar.
Freddie Mercury - Piano, vocals, showman extraordinaire. There is no one like Freddie and never will be again. One of the kind. A master frontman and showman who has audiences eating out of his hand. Amazing person. larger than life.

If you react to “Another One Bites The Dust”, PLEASE…
React to the LIVE performance at MONTREAL in 1981 !
(Queen prided themselves on being a Live Band… They’re actually the only band renowned for being even BETTER LIVE than in-studio… So, a good rule-of-thumb with Queen is:
Choose a LIVE performance whenever possible… OR, react to both the studio and live, to see the difference.)🫶🏻

The song is a Queen original from 1975, Bohemian Rhapsody was long before the band Queen was born in the mind of Freddie Mercury as to make a little rock operetta.

@@eddybassreacts IN 1980 they made the album 'Flash Gordon' for the movie with the same name. Songs from their 1986 album 'A kind of magic' were used for the movie 'Highlander'.
You should also see their mini concert for Live Aid Wembley stadium in 1985, it's legendary.
Btw Live Aid was a multi-venue benefit concert and music-based fundraising initiative held on Saturday, 13 July 1985. The original event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise further funds for relief of the 1983-1985 famine in Ethiopia, a movement that started with the release of the successful charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" by Band Aid and in 1985 'USA for Africa' with their song 'We are the World'.
