Somewhere in the 80's they came to Rotterdam, and i never went to a concert before, so King Kurt was my first one, that was the best gig ever! Beer/ flour and eggs, turned the place into one giant mud pit before the first song was over!
Got chance to go to one of their carlisle gigs and didnt go but id never heard of then until then.mate that went told me how great it was and gave a king kurt tape.
when this was on top of the pops i was watching them live at the old benton labour club, newcastle,, best night of musical madness and fun,,love it!!!!!!!!!!!! 1984 i thinks
That was a fantastic night, Loved them and loved Bo's talking guitar. I was a young 'slip of a thing' back then. So glad I saw both of 'em. Bands were allowed to do mucky stuff back in the day (True Life Confessions) - too bloody 'Health & Safety' these days. No one died for Christ's sake! Except maybe from having a damn good time.
Awesome. Saw these boys live at Shelleys' , Stoke on Trent before it became famous as a rave club. Slam danced the night away. Long lives the Holmes Chapel Mafia 22A.C.F.
Great memories - early gigs. Rat and rodent club!! Bags of beans and tobasco, bags of flour - streets a mess outside. Had flying bottle fight at one gig. Fire extinguishers. Great fun - even the middle-class students were welcome. Genuine cult compared to other psychobilly bands. FUN. Great haircuts - grew out / cut my mohican so that I could have 'horns'. Grass skirts and DMs - hell of a look.
Them were the days, seen twice at Bowes Lyon House Stevenage and Queensway Hall Dunstable and others, flour everywhere and oh yes! the wheel of misfortune, these boys knew how to party, fucking awesome.
Class band, these guys knew how to party. If I remember rightly the 12" single of Zulland was a trick record in that when you put the stylus on it it fell off!. It played from the middle outwards! Great guys
Hey Bo Diddley, where'dya get that song? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was 16 back in 87 round a mates digs in Crawley with a bunch of us Mods partying on home made cider and lager and fighting to King Kurt records.......with a bunch of 18+ year old 'Defiance' scooter club nutters! It was scarey!!! and a lot of fun!
Seen them so many times . But Brum Tin Can had to be one of the best in 85 . Still have the scare on my forehead from being twatted with a frozen whole salmon. Only at a King Kurt gig.
remember BAY HOTEL GREENOCK before they were not famous but known then became known (claim to fame ) played pool with them james, linda and me those were the times!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr Smeg`s wheel of misfortune!! Carlisle gig got them in bother coz the guy on the wheel was only 14 or 15 and got traumatized and cried about it to his mum who reported it to the police
Drunk themselves broke? Looks to me they had a right good laugh doing it. It's only rock and roll after all. There's no it's 'only IT' What happens after that (!)? Right love let's go for a dance 'cos I just saved the network from a trojan 'orse. Let's dance.
Saw them play in the 80's 6 hours later the venue burnt down. Excellent conclusion to an awsome gig!
