We are pretty much universally foam in the bottom of the hole. In fact, i never saw raised cups here at all, i wouldn’t be fan of that either...although when it gets me bond music i could be convinced!
You can putt into our holes but the have used foam so some putts jump out again. Not good. That course looks so good, be fun to put the 'serious' head on and see if I could shoot maybe 1 or 2 over par.
Ah the foam isn't perfect. I've seen that too sometimes a made putt can bounce out. I'd love to see you do a scoring challenge video. You can play some serious golf when you put your mind to it! Btw I've recorded the 5 hole use it and lose it challenge; having file transfer issues at the moment but don't think I've forgotten about it!
@@TheGolfClan Our club has just bought a slider to try out. They had them in the cups when I played at Bude and they work well. I've just done a 5 hole medal video and i have to do the guiness world record attempt too. Not enough hours in the day at the moment. I hear you on the file transfer - have had similar issues before. Not so bad now I bought a new laptop.
@@thehairygolfer Yeah sliders seem to solve the problem well. Guinness world record attempt will be quite exciting - 5 hole medal video is also a great idea. New laptop is a great investment. Anything that will save you time and reduce the headaches of producing content is worth its weight in gold.
@@TheGolfClan I still haven't made that video. I must do it as Hartling Bros Golf shouted me out. Need some helpers on emptying the hole and timing me.
Dude awesome vid! And at my home club right now the cups are flipped upside down. Now bad ball still falls down a bit. 100% better then raised cups those are the worst. But course looks fun and mint awesome vid man!
Thanks bro, still waiting to see a course vlog at the new club - place looks pristine!! That's good, I'd also take upside down over raised cups every day. I didn't realize how much satisfaction I get from seeing and hearing the ball fall in the cup. Even with the pin in it doesn't feel the same to me.
Was just about to say about hole in ones...great minds! Plus aces count on par 3 courses, but yeah i don’t think you can count them with raised cups at all.
The Golden Eye putter is 🔥🔥🔥!!! Looks like a fun course, I need to find some par 3 courses near me. I have a fear of making some kind of “once in a lifetime” shot with these altered holes! Maybe I’ll never know if it would’ve went in. And yeah, an ace on a par 3 course will always have an asterisk. -that was clutch!- Get ya a Garmin watch with GPS or something. I could talk to Olivia for ya if you need me to. 😂
Yes par 3 courses are a great change up. I still hope to play the par 3 course at Oxmoor that you played - that one looks sweet. Would be a true shame if you made a career shot on an altered hole; agreed, sometimes you never know if it "would have gone in." I actually ordered a rangefinder, finally!! So hopefully we'll have some accurate yardages soon.
Yeah it was an improvement over my last time at this course. Will have to wait for another day to break par but I feel like I'm trending in the right direction. That's good to hear, I've yet to meet a golfer who likes raised cups.
@@TheGolfClan Yeah, raised cups suck! I think it completely affects your stroke and visual, I mean the ball supposed to drop not bang against a cup, but I'm sure everything will be back to normal soon!
@@thebackyardgolfer7010 agreed, it's just not the same. But yes I hope you're right!! I think the flags will remain in for a long time, but there are many ways to make the holes safer.
Dougie Barnard foam was low enough that the ball does disappear. My brothers club flipped their cups, not bad either. The course that is 2 blocks from the house raised the cups, couldn’t make myself play that way.

hahahahaha foam works! As long as the foam isn't too close to the top of the cup I'm a fan. Tried to bounce a few off the cement with the Golden Gun!
Dougie Barnard agreed! Although these contraptions I’ve seen where you lift the bottom to retrieve might become the new standard IMO
@@ForetoFourGolf Yeah they came out of nowhere and I've also seen them spreading slowly. I wouldn't be opposed to it. They work fine.

an ace on the last would have been awesome, even if it wouldn't have counted as an actual hole in one. That hole was set up for an ace!
And no doubt...that was clutch!
thanks brother!

Dougie Barnard Pro tip: don’t lose the new range finder. 😂😂😂
Greg Kortman Golf I’ll try not to!
That was clutch. That's why I don't want a range finder it's not if it's when I'm going to lose it I do use a GPS app.
Hahaha yeah they’re so easy to lose
Great scoring. Pity about the 5. It shows that you have the skills to beat par
Thanks, agreed. That hole hurt. Such a short one.
+2 is not bad, here they went back to normal with the cups in most courses

My course put in foam and it is about an half inch lower so you see the ball actually enter the hole
That's the way to go. And the foam is low enough that it doesn't bounce balls back out?
