You can most definitely progress the story while you're still in a union room. The only thing is that you may not see the other person doing their story stuff because of a cutscene or something like that
It might not have been revolutionary finding pokemon in the Pokemon Dream world and playing all those minigames was always entertaining. Also a call out to the plaza in fourth gen, spent a lot of time there with my friends back on the day, really good energy indeed.
I still remember how long Gen 7 and 6 GTS has been hacked and messed up it's sad that the 3ds wifi had to shut down but it was for the best

I really like HOME, I'm obsessed with filling my Living Dex in it, I'm almost there, just need 6 Pokemon, all Mythicals.
I miss so much of the fun online features from gen 4, 5 and 6. And the official website having a section for gen 5 for Dream World.😭
