I believe the most important take away from today's tweet from Player First Game is that effective come the Mid-Season Patch, they now considers the Roster's state to be a STABLE (aka not requiring constant tweaks) point. The company no longer feels the Balancing side of the game requires constant Patches to correct its state of play. Instead, we should expect outside of the Mid-Season Patch that going forward that the only other Patches which impact Balancing are emergency Patches (and likely will focus on Fixes instead of Nerfs/Buffs.)
Secondly, the timing of the regularly scheduled Balance Patch being mid-season heavily implies that something at the start of each season will most likely be the reason the game would need a Balance Patch. This points to each new Season mirroring the First where most of the new Characters drop at the start of the Battle Pass Season. This will provide Player First Games with a solid half a season of play data and player's opinions to factor into a Balance Patch which is expected to mostly focus on new Characters.
A dry period is fine and understandable yes, but it sure is concerning, considering how the beta went.
Buffs are always more fun than nerfing a character into oblivion. I think thry should do more buffs and small tweaks and it definitely mske all the charcater viable

As a beta player and having most characters unlocked, I didn't realize new players essentially only have Shaggy. They need to change this, no one is going to play with an empty roster, especially when characters take as long to unlock as they do, and focusing on retaining old players has not been working. That's the easiest thing they should fix right away.
They should only have 3 characters maybe two
New players should have beginner quests that give a bunch of fighter currency to allow them to buy what fighters they want. Or at least start the player with 4 fighters, 1 per class.
I think a good starting roster would be Shaggy, Wonder Woman, Bugs Bunny and Finn.
All pretty good starter characters and a nice spread of franchises.

@@orlanskimer I was coming from my perspective that their are days were I have fun playing 1V1’s just seeing how I can progress as a player, but then other days when I’m trying to get the Battle Pass finished it does feel like a chore for me to keep playing.
@@Frost-tw4qd same. Plus, advancing in the rifts is so unfun, while most of the time is spend on screens that are not gameplay oriented. It feelks like a visual novel. I hve decided not to spend one single dollar on this game, since it will probably be dead before 2025
@@orlanskimer Rift mode is just a glorified mobile game. I’m only doing it to help a friend play Agent Smith early and I can tell you that it’s not fun at all. After I’ve got everything in season 1 I’m taking a long break.
100% agree with just buffing characters, every is screaming for WW nerfs and harley just got nerfed, i think WW and Harley are the base line of what they should be aiming for, they both feel really good and instead of nerfing them they should be bringing the rest of the cast to their level.

The speed up of the game needs to happen sooner than later with this relaunch. I love this game to my core and want to see it succeed beyond success, but big companies like WB, Ubisoft, Activision, etc, always end up “fixing/adding things” that don’t need to happen, and more often than not destroy the game due to those changes. Now ik the speed of the game isn’t smt WB is controlling, that’s why I’m hopeful that this change will happen, just really hope it’s not in 6 months..
im saying if it isnt sped up it will die again the only people who dont complain about it are people that are stuck on the hype of this game how can we expect devs to know whats wrong with their game if we dont tell them about the shortcomings.

I kind of gave up on the idea of unlocking Smith for free, because the 3rd rift difficulty is actually pretty hard, and i don't see myself beating the higher ones... But knowing there's 3 more rifts coming gives me hope i might actually do it

@@AndreyKrichevsky totally get that! I was playing Crushing difficulty and it’s almost impossible in some cases to win alone especially without gem upgrades.
However I’m sure if you beat each rift at least twice you will have enough points to unlock Agent Smith. Beating almost all difficulties will unlock the rewards further down agent smiths event
@@igoldenknight2169 If i counted correctly, with the 3 new promised rifts, you would have to beat each rift on the first 2 difficulties, and beat 2 more on the 3rd difficulty to get the 20 points you need for Smith.

I dont think anybody wants this game to fail except WB. The devs obviously have some passion for this game, but the issue is WB has their boot on their throats the fighting game community wants this game to succeed thats why the negativity because the love isn't being returned feels more like an abusive relationship
I wonder if this game will live not enough to be truly good and take the crown of my platform fighter.
I think its potential is there but I don't see that happening anytime soon really. Just being transparent. It'll be a slow burn until they hit their stride maybe in a few months or sooner. But that all depends. MVS is a great game to play in-between others and every now and then with big releases.
After seeing the comeback of No Man's Sky, I'm not writing off any game's ability to recover from a bad launch. Considering how much the devs seem to listen to feedback and respond to it, i think they have a really good chance
Fix the game play on console vs pc. If you play on xbox the moment is so sluggish and the button delay is real on xbox .
Seriously with the end screen damage they had NO logical reason to remove that except lowering our enjoyment
They did give a pretty good excuse for removing some of the features they had in beta, at least in my opinion.
They're saying they didn't remove anything. They spent the last year rebuilding most of the game from scratch in a new engine, and the just haven't had the time to add some of the smaller features like end of game stats, removing team colors etc. that were there in the previous version.
Leaderboard and ranked are most important. I feel like I’m just playing for on reason.
They really shot themselves in the foot by switching to Unreal 5, they had to basically rewrite the combat code which is why its slower and many characters have new moves. I really hope they decide to pause on the rifts and focus on the characters themselves, we need more balance. There should be no reason Marvins up attack should have unlimited ammo with little delay while bugs has a almost 2 second resets between all of his attacks
If they just stuck to Unreal 4 this wouldn’t be a problem
Will we see after match stats ever again I like seeing how much more damage I did vs my teammates in 2v2s
Don’t bring everybody down bring everybody up and make it balance like that. Make the game stronger make you have to avoid things make you think but at the same time, make everybody stronger in certain aspects and leave certain things exactly how they were. People will adjust.
This game simply needs to listen.
Faster gameplay, Stock/Life Gamemode and better balancing for characters when out of team gameplay.

@@geraltofrivia4651 Currently there are no options to make your grounded analog attacks smash attacks instead of jabs. Swap attack options in the beta allowed this. They just have to put it back into the game.
@@geraltofrivia4651 nope. You can’t change neutral attack to side attacks. So I can’t “jab” combo with only one button like it is in smash bros.
I like mid season patches cause itll keep things different each season. But we need a freaking Roadmap already and new characters! We have a month left in the season and we havent even seen agent smith

Yeah MVS is one of those games you can't dedicate all your time to sadly. I learned this the hard way in 2022 with my content personally. There are plenty of other great games out there and the devs encourage players not to only play their game. Gotta find the healthy balance.

Buffing everything isn't a golden rule. Early Tekken 8 is a great example of too much shenanigans. Definitely just need a couple characters to be less REQUIRED for high level play.
Man still no new update on when Agent Smith will be releasing
Based on the math of how many points we can get with the event to unlock him. It seems the week of July 10th-16th he will be early purchasable with free rift points. But then 2 weeks after that anyone can just buy him out.

Nerf characters multihits to be consistent with the rest of the cast. Shouldn't be able to dodge a multihit from one character and punish but not others.

If you’re going to Nerf, gizmos arrow, shots and people are still working around it I will say this though Nerf Morty mud wall because you should not be able to spam your way out of every attack every approach willy-nilly now that’s about it I can’t really say too much else I giant needs a little bit more work And Superman sniper punch is kind of crazy but I get it but he has a lot of armor and everything when Jason doesn’t have any so it’s like they could tone some things down or they can up the ante and some things for some players and just make everybody respect it

Their words exactly are posted below. They use the words Big and Massive to describe this patch that is coming next week. Then state it is the norm for their mid season updates we can expect going forward.
"We are deep in preparation for the *big mid-season patch coming next week* . This will include numerous character balances, additional content, and returning features such as spectator mode and free for all.
Moving forward we plan to have one *massive* balancing patch at the mid point of each season. We'll still have fixes where needed, but the mid-season patches will be our bread and butter."

Ranked needs to be implemented, more classic cartoons like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed Edd and Eddy, SpongeBob, Dexter… etc. needs to be implemented. Better interactive stages, more cosmetics, drop the price of said cosmetics…. There’s actually a LOT they can do with this game to help it thrive.

I’ve seen way worse when people say that games are dying, and tbh this is just a similar decline you often see games have after about a month or two after launch.
@@Mougabi This is true AND if they launch on the new Nintendo console whenever that drops it could help out massively. Being a free to play game on a new platform as huge as that would be a game changer. But that all depends on them working out their monetization practices and issues we have with them. Which is why we need to be vocal about these monetization practices needing to change. They changed a lot about the battle pass which is great. many people have it completed already! But they need to do more I think. So our feedback is working, its slow but its working.

The MASSIVE update is just some balances to characters? Clickbait aside, there's bigger quality of life changes that need to be made as soon as possible. Still not being able to assign individual banners and ringouts to each character is ridiculous.

It was so easy to find a Homie to play with in the beta. I liked the option to where you could decide to team up with someone after a 2v2 match. I don’t know why in hell they would get rid of that..
I didn’t play beta but I teamed up with a random dude last night when I was playing and we got like a solid 6 games in against other people before I had to leave

IG player here too. I know a lot of people are saying they want IG out of the game. I think a good compromise would be to increase the stage blast zones, and perhaps make Giants a little lighter.
Giant characters are unique to this platform and I want to see them go in the direction of them adding more if possible.

@@AC-py9dk Which was why I gave my solution of increasing the blast zones AND making giants lighter. This ALSO solves early stock cheese from other characters or instances where a knockout shouldn't happen at 30.

Stop forcing rifts and fix the damn game, Game is so slow and dull its not fun anymore. Game currently has 3k people playing it... LOL what a joke. All they have to do is focus on making the game playable, stop adding characters, fix the slow ass grind, stop forcing rift grinding. SPEED THE GAME UP. Give us ranked only maps, add the damn jab option back, fix buffer
I downloaded it and without access to a sizeable roster it’s immediately not fun. Why would I spend time to grind to get characters. Also paying for the full roster is ridiculous over priced.

those idiots re released a game without adding local co-op. This is the type of game i want to play with a friend that comes visit wither co op on rift mode or 2v2 local. I tought it was an obvious feature to have local 2v2. They must've some stupid beef with how to set the camera and decided not to do it

Honestly as somebody who has played the Beta extensively when it was still in full swing, and who has now come back to play the full release, I can wholeheartedly say they ruined this game as soon as they change how the game play is played. I genuinely cannot think of a single thing at the end of the beta's lifecycle that was so egregious that they needed to make these big changes to the game. It feels like the date the games identity has been stolen from it. Now it just feels like a glorified smash clone. One of the things which made it so fun was the chaotic order that the game provided with this fast speed and its flexibility in combo expression. Now everybody follows the same progression when it comes to eliminating an opponent Spam this one move until your opponent dies.
Honestly it was too fast and floating which put off new players. And it’s was hard to follow the high level match’s. Just look at some 2v2 games and you will see exactly what I’m talking about.
@@shannoncrawford808 I can follow it through, because I've played it enough at my own high level. Now look at what the game has come to now. Stale gameplay, which promotes waiting for your opponent than actively engaging.
All they had to do was release ranked bate and the game would have been right behind smash but they focused on rifts and bot bosses…
Their statement on ranked is they want the broken and low execution high reward characters to be normalized while having a solid balance before ranked. Which I agree, Velma needs to be a character before ranked drops lol. Big updates coming next week to change a lot of stuff so we will see. I think if they don't drop ranked by mid july they are cooked.

I main as Superman. To be able to replay a good old double elimination max distance sniper punch would be real nice.
I disagree that this is a big news, it was stuff that was supposed to be in the game anyways ffs. I hope they fix superman's laser to work on all stages all the time. Matter of fact, just fix all the characters broken i.e. buggy moves. hitboxes/hurtboxes still feel a little weird take a look at those on the top tiers. joker feels too strong. I wasn't able to do a couple of my challenges just because they weren't tracking them. the prices for custom cart bundles are (sometimes) ridiculous. a batman bundle for $45 is INSANE! putting stuff from the beta that wasnt even that crazy to begin with and calling it big news is nuts. But hey, at least its free!
If it doesn't revert the speed or at least greatly increase it I'm not coming back😓.
The Beta was fun because of the skill gap that the speed created a want/need to improve.
Now once you've hit intermediate level you can beat a master as everything is reactable. No movement tech, IT'S JUST TOO DANG SLOW
I think we can all blame the ppl who got the early access for lying about the game not being slow "as if experienced platform fighter players couldnt tell by looking at it". If they told the truth about the game being super slow the game wouldve been patched before release making the launch better. All the hype was gone after taking the speed away.
they need to stop forcing battle pass like every game since fortnite, play their game and listen to the community/pro feedback, I like the skins but I could care less when the game just isnt fun to play (any person with super armor on half moves... WW)
