I Love this.. LOVE the contrasting voices, like Brian Kennedy and ...I love Van Morrison---really getting into it...very fun and exciting. Great Performance. I am going to remember this one too. Great Job done by All.
That '97 tour, with Georgie Fame, Brian Kennedy, Leo Green, Pee Wee and all, was probably, indeed, his greatest touring band. I've seen them all and most were really good. But no-one gets those guys as their tour band. Except Van. And the music they put out, in '97, was sublime. Some of Van's very best, brought out by having such top-shelf players around him. Healing Game and Days Like This are two other cracking versions from this tour. Platinum.
This concert is in Belfast. A few months before he send the album The Healing Game. Congrats, we can found this concert here, in UA-cam: only search "Van Morrison , Back on the Corner ". The best Van Morrison's band ever IMO, the best moment -for me- Barcelona ,Poble Espanyol, July 1997. Absolutely amazing, emotional, fantastic.
@@janhensley5410 Actually, my g/f and I followed them to MSG in NYC after the Boston shows. Joni always opened, and she was great. Van & Dylan would flip-flop - probably for the convenience of one less set change for the roadies, as they were playing multiple nights in the larger cities. It was definitely the most condensed concert billing I ever seen, which we witnessed four times.
I sort of stumbled upon this ... Extraordinary performance... I saw Van Morrison twice last year At The Royal Palace and at North Sea Jazz the next day... When and where was this ?
Thank you so much for posting this! We saw this tour on New Year's Eve (1996) and the following night as well. I've always loved this theatrical version of "Burning Ground". I have to ask, where did you find this?
A very big thank you, Rob, for this version of Burning Ground that I don't know. I fully agree with what you noted. For me too, one of his best times, his best time for me, was the late 90s with Georgie Fame and Brian Kennedy. ua-cam.com/video/0SejFVftfDk/v-deo.html
Please upload the full performance of the song ("See Me through" through "Burning Ground") instead of this massacre. I can't find the video anywhere! : (
Jute got shipped back to Belfast, it seems for sale but also as ballast, but if they couldn't sell it they burned it. Looks like. But with Van its also a metaphor, I'd say.
There`s NO ONE or will ever be like Mr Van Morrison !
Van is fantastic in this performance. You can tell he feels the music to his soul!!!!!
I was there Brighton Dome, fantastic night ,absolutely brilliant. TRULY VAN IS THE MAN xx
He is the greatest!!

I agree. As someone who has about 200 shows this is my favorite period from 95-98 when he had the big band. The 97/98 tour was my absolute favorite.
Amazing talent! A higher plane of spectacular! Love this 💚❤️
Meravigliosamente Super!
Yes, the healng has begun.
Wild emotional performance, love it. Thanks
A spiritual instrument expressing the reality of mans soul encasement between heaven and hell tortuous but not banal .
Simply amazing, to coin a phrase.
What voices - what music....perfect combination!
Mind blowing fantastic! Wow!
I love his music! He’s outdone himself with his Burning Ground!
This is amazing.
Unbelievable!!
Took my Breath away....
1997 "Healing Game" cd. What a performance! Brian's voice--Knocks me out.
Powerful! Soul Baby! Rave On Van The Man. 💚👏🎶❤️🙏🥰
I love to HEAR the words. Put them in my senerio and feel REAL PERSON.
Brian is just angelic
No. The two voices don't go together.
excellent !!
👏👏👏👏👏 Powerful! Love it
That's just fucking genius.
Saw something like it in Boston, January/1998; Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison. How's that for a bill?
Acoustic Shadow Saw Bob & Van in England about that time. Sadly not Joni. 🇬🇧🏴
So are so lucky to have seen that concert!
You must have felt like you were in Heaven. What a blessing! ❤️🎶

nice to see Ronnie playing
Ronnie's opening lick on 'Lonely Avenue' on the "Too Long In Exile" LP is the greatest opening lick in music history.
I want to buy a 1 way ticket to Belfast & camp at this man's feet. I'm sure God is already there wondering why I'm not yet
Awesome post ❤️
You say unreleased but this concert was shown on tv in full. It is an excellent concert.
is it anywhere to be found? It doesn't say where or date

exorcism of all unholy. feel the release of all that must be left behind.
I think you comment is the best one I've ever seen! :-)
Love this song. This is a good place to ask this question, What does cut the jute mean? I'm from California.
For this song, Morrison got his inspiration from a common scene from his childhood when jute was shipped to Belfast from India in the 1950s...

It is very risky daring to classify Van's period of top production
MMXXIV AD
Mr Van I will meet you at the witness TREE 🌲 love The JOKER 🃏 #7777.
I think it would be better if Van sang this song on his own. A much better version than the studio one.
Totally agree. On both accounts.
I ws thwre!
What exactly is he dumping on the burning ground is it the Jew?
JUTE! it's basically burlap. in this case it's a burlap sack carrying his woes, troubles, whatever. Dig it!
