I remember having one of these as a kid. Unfortunately it was stolen out of the shed outside I had it set up in.
It wasn't me. I swear. I bought this on Ebay.
A good alternative for lubing the disc drive is Lithium Grease, 570th sub acquired

Good restoration and very good paint job! But please, do not stretch 4:3 games on ultra wide monitor. It looks bizarre on 16:9, but on ultra wide it is just on another level... Keep original aspect ratio. ✌️

Hello! I want to sand my slim down due to some scratches along with possibly spray painting it. I was wondering what sand grit you used and what specific spray paints you used as well? Or if there’s any you’d recommend for the original silver color?
How much time did you took to clean with cotton swab the board ? Did you really clean all the board with them ? If so it surely took you a lot of time ! Anyway Great job !!
Yes this was a very time consuming job. I had something like 9 hours of footage at the end to edit down, and probably 1 hour was just cleaning the motherboard.

@@stephaneeternelle-vie4664 Lots of people make videos where they "find" consoles in junk by the side of the road. They are fake videos. They put the console there earlier and pretend to find and fix it. You shouldn't use water to clean electronics, not only because it conducts electricity, but because of impurities which cause corrosion over time. And you should definitely not use soap. For cleaning electronics, use 99% Isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner spray.

What sandpaper did you use and what number?
Did you use acrylic? You should have coated with clear coat.
A couple of questions. Why not use silver metallic paint followed up with a clear coat. Also, you painted over the markings in the button which makes it look amateurish.

Because I wanted it to be white, not silver.

Because after multiple tests, every clear coat I tried invariably leaves a yellowish tint when used on light colours. With pure white this is especially noticeable. So I chose to use a paint suitable for interior or exterior use that doesn't require a clear coat.

Yes, it's not possible to paint around the markings on the power and eject buttons because they're so small. Instead the buttons are painted and then the markings can be re-added afterwards with a decal, which is what I did on my PS1 projects and what I did with this PS2 a couple of weeks after this video was published.
I will suggest you something never pull a plug on cable especially this kind of plugs they brake so easily trust me i know and that is something you don't want to do so use tweezers
Can someone please tell me what the two holes are at the back on the sides?
You used to be able to buy an LCD screen that could be attached to the back os the PS2 slim and these holes were the mounting points for the screen.
