Great insights but also depends on the company structure, this vary widely from company to company as some wants you to do both UI/UX, for the most part I been doing both. The main thing I would say is communication, as a designer I believe you should do both UI/UX it will make you stronger at the end of the day and you will have more opportunities.
Hi mizko , is it possible for you to make some videos about how to use your design system more efficiently? May be design some projects using your design system so that we can understand how you r using it more. Thanks.
Seems very different in overseas. In many countries in Asia, a junior level UI/UX designer requires coding skills or high level design skills. Those who leaning towards visual side will take on multimedia design (socmed design, mograph, etc) task aside from UI/UX, while the IT side will focus slicing, front end and UI design. I would be thankful if we can even survive based on your description on junior level UI/UX design. Probably time to migrate
Thanks for the comment! Great to hear insights from Asia. I do however, believe it's not the geography of where you are based but instead the maturity of the businesses you work at. Depending on where you are based, many Asian companies are quite forward and fast-paced now a days. My own agency has worked with numerous, well-funded companies in Asia. Specially in Singapore. If designers are still required to code, those companies are probably less mature and are low on budget to hire specialised product designers. Not because they are based in Asia.
Hi Mizko, thanks for the awesome vid. I am a junior UI/UX designer , leaning more on the UI side of things. One of the things that I really struggle with is communication, ex- articulating design decisions, communicating with stakeholders and etc. I have been an introvert all my life and I find It difficult to talk to people in general. Do you have any tips/books/podcasts or anything to help with that? Thanking you in advance, Arunava
A tip a product manager gave me was reminding the audience what problem(s) I solved for before diving right into the designs. Setting that context makes it easier for the audience to follow. This is assuming you have logical reasonings behind your designs. If not, I would suggest you to constantly ask yourself why you believe your design decisions solves for the problem at hand. You have to know your why’s to express them. Good luck from an introverted UX designer :)
I struggle with this too and never had any previous experience, what type of questions did they ask for you to land a role as a Junior UI/UX designer at a company?
I have just started learning UX/UI. I am a full-stack web developer with 5 years of experience and am now interested in transitioning into UI/UX roles as fed up with development and have an interest in design. I see that you have that Figma masterclass course. Thinking of buying it, but it will only teach about UI right? Do you have any other courses for UX that I can purchase? Hope to get a response soon. Thanks for the amazing content :)

Hey @Mizko, I am interested in your thoughts of moving from senior UX/UI to Principle or director.
Thanks in advance!

Agreed! That’s why I mentioned all your skills need to improve relatively - based on what you’re strengths are and what the company needs.
You can’t succeed in just UI or just UX.
I am already a senior but this was so insightful I watched the whole thing lol Awesome video!
Great to hear! 🙏🏻
Energetic Mizko as always 😎 ⚡ ⛈️

I'm a product designer and an introvert myself. It's not easy but if you focus on explaining the context, problem and solution then it becomes easier

Thank you for these good advices
I'm switching from marketing to UX, can you recommend some books that help for this particular time?
How to transition from senior ui/ux designer to product manager? :D
Hi mizko
Do you recommend bootcamp for ux design?
It really depends on the individual. Are you self motivated?
love from bangladesh
Appreciate!!
@@Mizko sYou can give me the link I am a new designer ui
@@Mizko Will there be a link to the course?
💯🔥
What about mid to senior??
Years of experience maybe?
Суть: этот уровнем повыше, а этот еще выше того. Конец
Very abstract
It's actually quite logical and objective. I think not having a plan or structure is abstract.
