You're not kidding about the usefulness of lighter fluid. I mainly bought some to clean the Asterix figures I want to fix up, but it also removed the sticky label residue I've been trying to clean off of one of my wife's work coats. Brilliant tip for something I never would have ever thought of otherwise.

HSW!(hot soapy water) Anyone else get excited waiting for him to say that first it needs a good clean in "hot soapy water" in these videos? Its like waiting for Bob Ross to say 'happy little trees' in an episode

Nostalgia pure. I only ever had Battle Armour He-Man (and Prince Adam) because I was late to the game, back in the days. I also never had Battle Cat. So Stridor and B.A.-He-Man were my team for playing. Seeing them together like this is like having a time machine. Great restore on the tail too!

Have you ever thought about moulding and casting a replacement piece, I feel it could work well for a piece such as this tail.

The sort of plastic that was used for these peg attachments on the MOTU vehicles/toys were always weak, and prone to break easily. That's why so many Wind Raiders have broken wings. Over time, wear and age makes the plastic brittle, and things just snap off. The construction design of these toys don't help matters. Luckily, there are folks like you, Dave, who can create work-a-rounds and repairs. I think it'd be nice to see you make an attempt at repairing a part (like this tail), then having a go at recasting the part to create a new, sturdy piece of plastic. That wouldn't be easy, but it might be fun to try and mold something. Like most toy collectors, I always prefer original parts to newly cast pieces, but to make a toy whole again, I think that would be a worthwhile endeavor to undertake. Just a thought, anyway. The fix you did should be good for display purposes. It looked pretty sturdy to me.

when i was Young, i was worried by the lack of playability of stridor.so i breaked the little pegs of the legs and stridor could rear up.it worked very well.

I never had this one, but I loved every MOTU toy I did have. My favorite MOTU toy as a kid was Modulok. He could have been a toy line unto himself had they produced parts for him such as extra heads, limbs, weapons, torsos, connectors, etc.

It's amazing what a good clean can do. The end result was great. I know a lot of people complained about Stridors fixed legs but as a kid I just got on with it the same as I did with Battle Cat. Thanks for another early upload to start off the day.

If you drill your 1st hole then put a small amount of acrylic paint around it (make a thin, but "blobby" line around the hole) then match your broken off piece up to the main piece along the original breakage line you can pull them apart and your broken off bit will have a spot of paint with a blank spot in the middle. That gives you the perfect place to drill your second hole. Being acrylic you can easily then wash it off so it doesnt interfere with the glue.

Anyway, I donated 5£ for your GREAT Ovion cloak video and me using your stencil, to make my own. Thank you & I'm sorry it couldn't be more.

It really is very good of you to supply these stickers Mr. Poloi :) I wanted to say thank you for your tips as well. I tried using caustic soda to strip paint and lighter fluid to remove ink and they worked a treat so thanks for your great advice. I wanted to ask for your q and a video but would you consider using a 3d printer for any of your projects or are they of limited interest to you ?

Your cutting mat is messing up with the focus of your camera... I've searched around and couldn't find one that doesn't have grid marks, but apparently Paper Spectrum (in the UK) has some that don't have such pronounced marks as the one you're using.

Hi, i keep hearing that modern action figures have not the same quality than the vintage ones, is that correct? for example the newer lines like Funko Thundercats and the Super7 MOTU etc. toy companies use now a different type of plastic?
