    My mom would have killed for this video in 1993. I had two of these as a kids and broke both of them. She would 100% have watched this and fixed them right up.

    Another excellent repair, Dave! That Real Ghostbusters line was so well made. They gave us awesome figures, Ecto-1, the firehouse, proton packs, ghost traps, etc. It was everything you needed as a child and fan to immerse yourself in that world. Such a wonderful toy line!

    Great repair. I have bittersweet memories with this toy. I never knew it existed until years later, when I saw a kid playing with one at a fair. I forget how old I was at the time but I told my mother I wanted it, and was told I’m too old. In hindsight she was right for the time but here I am at 46.

    Really cool toy trap. I love it. And your restoration as well. Perfectly done. Push the button. Don’t you look into the trap when it’s opening. Open - close - open - close. I could do this allday long. The day is structured.

    Great work! I still have mine from my childhood. The hole on the handle let you attach the trap to the proton pack (but then you had to carry the blaster on your hands 😅).
    I have the ghost trap made by Jocsa here in Argentina. The actual trap shares the same mold, but the pump is very different. Our version was just a piece of yellow silicone that broke very easily. Still, it was a great toy. I always liked it's design

      @@toypolloi I love to see you do these kind of fixes. They might seem a bit basic and straight-forward, but to many toy collectors lacking your confidence and experience, these sort of things can be intimidating to some. Seeing you actually go through these motions and come out with such amazing results is very encouraging to the toy collecting community interested in preserving their childhood toys! Thanks so much for all you do!

  • @wesmadebuilds681

    That shape on the end of the tube looks like what some refer to as a fish mouth. If you can find a 20mm hole saw and manage to drill through the center it will give you that shape. Probably harder than what you did but figured I would share.

    Hou should look into a cheap airbrush setup. It'll save you money after buying a new rattle can for each project, and you can custom mix your colors with the hobby paints you already have and some water based airbrush thinner

    Good work as always TP... Not sure why you didn't put ends on the new handle to seal the tube up, when the original is clearly meant to be "solid"... minor quibble, but not it's like you to vary so far from the original design....

    Pritt stick isn't a special decal adhesive right? It's just a good old fashioned glue stick? The stickers are coming off of my Transformers Metroplex and I'm not sure how to glue them back down.

    Hi Toy Polloi, Very sorry to bother you and my apologies for asking this question in this way. Especially as my question doesn’t relate to your recent video. I was hoping you might be able to either provide some assistance, advise or point me in the right direction. So… I am a fan of the vintage Bandai inspector gadget toys (inspector gadget mobile and the mad mobile). I know that you have a supplier of the transformer stickers or in many instances create your own replacement stickers for vintage toys. I was wondering if by chance you would happen to know of a supplier for the inspector gadget stickers? I would try and create my own stickers, however unfortunately I am not very good with the graphic designs software, which unfortunately rules out me creating the stickers myself. Also these toys suffer from many common breaks or missing parts. Would you at all consider perhaps doing a special on the repair of these inspector gadget toys. My apologies again for bothering you and thank you for your time and any suggestions which you might hopefully be able to provide.

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  3 місяці тому +1

      No problem. I have to say I don't know of anyone who makes stickers for that. It's not a toy line I've ever looked into. If I find one I may take it on as a project, could be fun. Cheers
