I love mixing it up between modern and historical clothing. Wool dress is already unpacked for winter. ok I Could have watched this 3 hours ago when it came out but in my defence I was reviewing tutorials on how to finish the hems on the wool tunic I've been wearing for the past year and change but now I know what to do. and all I have left is the bottom hem. so it's Time. (also I really wanna London hood now. the skjöldehamn hood just doesn't provide both ear snuggies and eye protection when it snows, which it has started doing where I live)

@@OpusElenae I think I just accidently thought of a way to adapt my locks (they're around 6 years old) to fit into a London Hood. Thank you Uh... how to describe - the pipe can start at a dart of some sort at the crown of the head (the flat bit). The pipe is one sided - basically a u-shape that can wrap around the hair. At the nape of the neck have a strap that can be wrapped around allot of hair (close it with a slip knot). Have the option of more ties along the length of the u-shaped pipe. Ghah. YT Overlords - if you're going to algorithm the conversations could you hurry up with some sort of sketchbook function. Although that would be a whole different can of internet worms to open...

I "found" you due to your London Hood video a while back and since then, I have been ruminating on making a hood-despite my vow not to go down the historical costuming rabbit hole...I just think it would be pretty good for shoveling snow while it is still snowing...Scarves can shift and gap at the back of the neck...Plus they way you wore it open as a shaped shawl-wonderful However, I do have one complaint-not enough Bran Ever think of just releasing a gratuitous video of just him helping on various projects?
I have actually! I think I might release it as a year end video. Also, agree, during the winder storm I wore my hood instead of a hat and scarf because it was so much more convenient.
Button spacing hint: Place the MUST HAVE buttons - usually top and bottom. Fold the remaining button edge in half and mark the place. Fold the remaining halves again in half, marking the spots. You now have 5 button placements. Continue halving and marking the edge between buttons until you have all required button placings marked. Voila - perfectly spaced buttons, no math, no measuring.

Great hood! How much 22inch wide fabric would you suggest is needed for this hood. It's 22inch wide, because I'll be weaving it while I wait for the pattern to be released and that's how wide my woven wools tend to end up after wet finishing.
I'm so sorry it took me this long to get back to you! The Large size would take 3 yd of 22" wide fashion fabric and 2.5 yd of lining fabric. The small and medium sized would take less, but I figured I'd let you know the maximum yardage necessary.

I know you pointed out that the seams are felled. Is the seam joining the lining to the outer fabric also felled? If so - in which direction? I am SO enjoying hand sewing this hood! I am using a lightweight wool in Saxon Blue (green/grey) lined in black linen all from Burnley and Trowbridge. Sumptuous fabric for hand sewing.

Well Mercury is retrograde untill 19th October and with the recent Mars, Mercury, Sun conjunction last week and the trine with Jupiter in Aquarius expanding the energy for the next few weeks do take care. Greetings! I have some questions about your cutting table. Do you like it? Is it large enough to handle big pieces of fabric? Is it worth the money? I told my husband that I wanted it instead of the other things on my wish list for Christmas, our wedding anniversary (41 years in January), and my birthday (February). I love it! I live in a postage stamp of an apartment so it was really important for me to be able to fold it for storage. It’s 60”x31” so I CAN technically get a full width of I folded fabric on there but it’s not a long enough piece to cut a big project. If I’m working with fabric folded in calf it’s easier. That said I just let the extra hang off the side and that’s usually fine. If you have carpets highly recommend adding casters on the bottom they are a game changer. It’s incredibly sturdy (way more than the particle board and metal frame ones you can get at Joann). I am 5’10” so I wish it was about six inches taller because bending over it hurts my back but I solve that my taking breaks or sitting at a stool instead of standing. I would say… 9/10, A, would still buy again.
I thought I didn't want to be bothered with making a million and one fabric buttons. Apparently I was wrong and now desperately require a rainbow-buttoned hood.
