ngl ITE will always have this stereotype to them. But as an ITE student myself before, ITE really helped to shaped my character and it made me reflect deeply with my future career choices. ITE students who goes to poly after, often gets compliment as the the more disciplined batch and overall cohort grades of ITE graduates actually are on par/ even better than O Levels’. So yes we take longer in our education journey, but the lifeskills and character development gained from the 2 years in ITE really shaped who am i today. I am very sure, most people can agree with me on this

That's a fun topic! Loved how the students were not defensive and were jokingly answering your questions/reacting to your statements. I must say, though, intelligence and knowledge are related but two different things. I'm sure the ITE students are proficient in problem-solving in their areas of expertise. Fun fact that no one asked for - I've got a phd but I've got almost all questions in the general knowledge quiz wrong, hahaha! I hope that does not make me dumb 🤭

I was from ITE Simei (Now it is called college east), then I went to Republic Poly and managed to get into SMU. It's been a long journey and looking back, I did waste a few years of my life. I'm currently working in the finance industry and really happy with my job, it's going to be my 6th year soon in this field.
Back then, people were super-influenced by Jack Neo films and the phrase "It's The End" aka ITE echoed amongst many Singaporeans. I had my fair share of bullying just because of being from ITE, but I reminded myself that nothing else matters if you have a strong focus and determination. My secondary school discipline master told me before "It doesn't matter if you retain sec 5, go ITE, or Poly. So what if you can't make it straight away to JC? Anyone that works hard in the end will reach their destination, some just take a longer time to do so!" (aka going to ITE).
So, to the "It's The End" folks that are reading this, never give up!

I was once from ITE. I went to Singapore poly afterwards and now I am in university. Because due to all the paths I took, I met with different aspects of people from all background. To recall, I have a friend /classmate whom I met in poly came from the same ITE campus as me and he is the top graduate of my course and this is compared with all the o-level & ITE batches of the same intake. And honestly speaking now in university, I also realize that even some of the O-level graduate whom currently studying with me also did not perform better than me or other student who once came from ITE. Maybe is the theory that I heard many years ago where someone once told me that there some people when the older they grow, the more dumb they become 😂. Idk but I believe that everyone is intelligent in their own way. It just the choice they make.
I so sorry to hear that guy in the Al nassr jersey is being discriminated in his work place for coming from ITE. And also that guy who trying to pick up girls in telegram 😂. Hope that girl whom ghost him can find someone who is of the status that she want.
But one advice to all those GIRLS out that. You may think you just need to be good looking and you will get any good rich dude with prestigious background. But just to let you know, if you can be picky about guys and want someone with status, a guy will also want his girlfriend/wife to have some quality in terms of how they think, how they speak and be a pillar of support for him. Rather than only know how to do makeup and talk cock.

In Poly especially in year 1 or year 2 when you have course mates that come from ITE I legit look up to them. Caus like for those who actually made it to Poly from ITE, I know they definitely studied hard plus the fact that usually they have the upper hand or have more experience than us who come from OLevels as they already have prior practical knowledge as they've most likely already had hands on/internship experience during their ITE days. So if you need any help or anything you can legit just ask them for help/advice.

i feel like this might be unpopular opinion la, but the effort u put in and stuf could correlate to the school we end up in la, so like not judging ite students or wtv, but if they really end up in the school cos they never put in hard work and stuf, like just admit it. if later on want to put in hard work and get into uni etc etc then good, but i feel like most of the time the people that are interviewed not really answering the qn la, maybe think why this stereotype even exists in the first place? it really boils down to whether ite is the first choice or not, because if someone can tell me that ite is their first choice, then i cant say anything, but if ite definitely wasn't first choice, might just have to admit that something along the line went not so good. btw no hate ah guys im just saying oni, got many other factors that affect the streaming from sec sch to higher levels of education.

Parents also play a big part in raising their kids.
If u let kids choose to study & play OR play whole day, obviously ALL kids will choose the latter.
It all boils down to parents effort in shaping their primary sch kids, that ultimately play a big factor in their academic ability for the future.
Whether parents got the ability to churn out efforts or time to shape their kids is another story.
