When you closed the door and it sounded like what a truck should sound like. When trucks didn't come equipped looking like luxury sedan. Give me a full bench seat, no carpet, crank windows, am/fm radio, and a strong reliable motor and I'd be set. I'm just a fan of old shit
Thanks for the nice comment, made my day. The truck runs on 46x19.6-16” baja claw tires. 4.88:1gears. I used shitty steel wheels that are 16” wide. The lift is around 16” and I made most of the brackets with a CNBC plasma table I have. The exhaust is L&L nickel plated headers running full 3” ( throw away the ghetto collectors) into dual Flowmaster ‘40’ series neighbour haters). It’s 3” all the way to each tailpipe. The motor is 10.5:1 compression. Just point the truck at anything you don’t want to keep and let it eat!
nice , whats your rpm like on the road? i have 4.56s with 38.5s and i have to rev the shit outa my bronco for it to gain speed (about 3k @ 50mph , np205 and np435 tranny & 460 bbf, 78 ford aswell >:), do u have the build info on it? our trucks are pretty much the same setup i have shorty headers tho and same lift just about. sounds like you got cloves timing gears in it as well. what size carb? mines a 750 double pumper holley with an offroad kit on the carb with electronic ignition box.

C6 Auto on 205 gear case. Dana 60 king pin front on coils with Dana 60 rear. 4.88:1 gears. 46”x19.5x16” Baja Claws. Black stock and super clean interior with tilt column. Dual 12” subs and amps. Custom front bumper with winch. Etc,etc,etc. Asking $20K CDN. The body is not perfect (it’s a 40 year old truck) but it’s all Ford parts and no off shore replacement junk.Needs reverse light/neutral safety switch to pass safety/M.T.O. Inspection. What oil viscosity do you use? I use 15w40 all year round. I live in southwest Missouri and even when it is below 20 degrees the starter still kicks the motor over fine. Gotta love the 460
im 18 just started saving up for a late 40s ford coupe i plan on finding and istalling a 460 with cam in one if i can even find a 40s coupe for less than 10k. I found one for sale for $3800 just needed an engine.

Running a stroked 521 BBF in my 1986 Mustang, going Low Nines on Drag Radials, N/A Through a 1000 cfm Carb. I really want to do up a 78-79 Truck Bought my 2006 F-250 Super Duty 6.0 Brand New, i Love it made 572 HP and 1016 Ft lbs Very Mild build up. Will never get rid of. Only way is if i Trade it for a Nice 78-79 Very Nice Truck, Sounds great. Any Work done to the 460 ? Besides the Cam.
You can. It’s called a Thumper cam. Competition makes it. They let the exhaust open a little early when there isn’t lots of energy left anyway. This gives it the sound but also helps a Ford exhaust port breathe. Scotty the Mad Porter, at Reincarnation can fix you up with all of the tech or finished parts you’ll ever need. Fantastic learning experience from Scotty. He is all over the net. Look him up. You’ll shit yourself seeing what he can do for you!!

You need to ditch your speed density first or get a cam that will comply with it (unlikely to find)
