I can rem ember how utterly bowled over I was when I read this book when it was first published. I spent weeks walking around living in its reality, thinking in its dialect.
Great to see something like this being done with my favourite one of my father's books (and not just because it's dedicated to me). Would be interesting to talk, I'm planning something of my own (music theatre).
your father's novel is my favourite book of all time! I read it 2 years ago when I was 23 and found it astonishing. I know this word is thrown around a lot but I genuinely think it's a masterpiece. I work in publishing now, but 'riddley walker' encouraged me to keep working on my writing too. your musical theatre interpretation sounds really interesting! :)
@@dianacollier3589 One Eyed Automata regrets that Part 3 of the Riddley Walker series is held up by other work commitments and now with Wieland's interview in hand, the half finished edit has new material to include and needs reconsideration. Hoping to complete and publish the 3rd instalment of this project over the Christmas holidays. P
@@petershields1351 blimey Peter, what a great reason to have to delay!! And fortuitous that your work commitments meant a delay so it wasn't to late to rethink. 😀
So great to hear interesting people talking about this amazing novel. I just finished reading it and really has it’s hooks in me. Would it be too much trubba to put the full interviews on UA-cam?
The screencap of David Threllfall!!! Is there video that goes with this? I tracked down the theater and production, and I've found images of the program. But I need more. The combination of David Threllfall and Riddley Walker... Catch me if I swoon

The late lamented John Sladek was a great writer but Harlan Ellison wrote A Boy and His Dog. Everyone: read Roderick by Sladek.
