I did a couple armwrestling training sessions with Allen almost a decade ago, and I learned more in a couple hours than I have in 10 years of watching youtube videos. He's a wealth of knowledge and a STRONG dude!
@1:55 that wasn't where his hand originally was. The instructor is wrong here. He's full of shit about his saying he can pick up on things that are not level. That's called an opinion or observation. He's not that magical folks
Man Allen Fisher is a legend, but I don't like how he flash pinned you out of nowhere during the demonstration. I've seen many injuries caused by similar pulling and it's not good for the joints or muscles, since you weren't loading/ expecting it. There's a good reason why the more experienced armwrestler should hold instead of flash pinning. I believe Allen had good intentions, but he shouldn't have gone about it that way. You took it like a champ man 💪
Sounds like he’ll ask you questions, and say you’re wrong just so he can explain something. (He’s obviously a genius at the craft, but he sounds like he’s really impressed with himself. )
Yeah definitely some major arrogance.. I know he is good but I've seen him take things way over board verbally!!! It's cool to be knowledgeable but don't let it go to your head 😬 just saying
I can agree, but he admitted to the condition he has had to learn to deal with. I can relate b/c I suffer...or benefit from the same type issue. details etc.
A wealth of knowledge, it's gotta be hard as a newcomer, you got all the og's trying to tell you things, huge egos and a bunch of pissing contests but that's kind of what the sport is I guess. You did an amazing job of just being the student.
nah dude you didnt move from when he touched your hand until he came back your finger was parallel with the cable line on the roof, hes in trying to get in your head. I've watched it 4x and you didnt move maybe a centimeter
Yep, his hand stayed still. This old guy was set on position flaw in order to Segway into his rehearsed routine that he repeats every time he's a guest speaker. His claim of autism is hilarious, it seems his form gives him a sense of power and desire for the social spotlight...
Crazy. There was always that one guy at school who.. whether it's genetics, technique or just.... general baddassery that could Arm Wrestle so freaking well, and even if the biggest guys did beat them , it was a huge battle. I'd love to know the science behind it.
School arm wrestling 9/10 times it would just be them probably sliding their hand up to get the most favorable position, combined with having good levers with their structure and just knowing even the slightest way to use it can take out 99.999% of the other students.
This is the kind of guy you want to train you, mind like Devon and the killer instinct to win. He's a champ because he has an edge. That's what all champs have, the sharpest edge possible
I feel like I'm a professional after watching this, I never thought there was this much detail, I now respect Lincoln Hawk a lot more. I'm headed to the nearest bar to practice! 😂
He actually did not move. Look carefully at his hand at 1:39 against the trim of the garage and then look where Allen places pulls it down to at 1:56. Haha sorry video doesn't lie.
Actually, it is possible he could have moved, we only see one side of the video basically in 2D, so if he was to pivot his elbow a little we wouldn't notice it from our view but can be observed better from his point of view. As far as using the garage as reference @6:12 the garage door moves deeming it an unreliable reference point, ijs lol
Allen Fisher, man I hate guys who teach like him, All you're thinking about is how annoying he is and how you just want to get away from him the whole time. An awful teacher
Fisher seems like the kind of tool that wants everyone to know just how great he is, and he'll talk down to you to do that. He likes the sound of his voice, and spends a lot of time talking himself up while making up phony criticisms before he's even made a point.
Yes and no, I think most of us have met people like this. He is teaching useful info but he was probably taught the same way and a lot of older generation guys are the type where they are really rude to you until you earn their respect. It’s all about how you take it for guys like that I take the info I can and ignore the bullshit if they actually know a thing or too
The word you were looking for is inquisitive Allen, but the first thing I would have noticed is his knuckle height. With his arm to the front of the pad he’d probably want his entire arm more vertical if possible in relation to your arm while engaging his riser. I’m still searching for that old school training footage of you dropping and catching those weights BTW.

Allen Fisher needs to take his glasses off he will. He was in the center both times when he and he didn't move when he said he moved to he pulled him past center that dude set up proper. Every time
He never moved his hand he was extremely still look at his alignment with the garage in the background and tell me he moved lol....the gentleman talking is the one that moved his hand just my observation. Did any of you in the comments play sports? Everyone is calling Allen a “pompous ass” and stuff like that. I don’t see the problem with his coaching style. He reminds me of my old high school football coaches. Guy is a world champ, he has a lot of knowledge to share. Some of y’all are soft.
I mean, props to father Allen and all but @1:39 you set up and don't move at all yet he says you do. How do I know this? Your hand lines up perfectly with the frame line at the top of the garage and your hand doesn't move. Slight finger movement, but overall exactly where you set up at. Then he comes and tries to tug you way down lower than you were when you set up. Lol Come on Allen, stop playing. You got the heat, we know it already. No need for that. Great knowledge though, keep it up.
Total newb here, and not asking this to be condescending, but if the shoulders need to be perfectly square to the table to access the pecs at ready go, why does Devon carve in so much before the ready go?
He said you moved and you didn't. Then he dragged your arm across the table and told you to stay there. THEN he came back and said "What's wrong with his position?" and he said you were set up too far to his side but he's the one who put you there and told you to stay. lol
Never arm-wrestled a day in my life I watched the whole video. Love the nuances. I’m gonna wrastle my wife!!!!
I just started training recently and it seems more complicated than rocket science.
I bet the wife won

What an absolute privilege it was to learn from this thanks Allen Fisher/ guys!
His knowledge is so deep. 😅 This guy could get to the point in two minutes but he just likes to hear himself talk.
