I kind of feel bad for Shearer always having to put up with people forgetting about the 23 goals he scored when the league was called the First Division. There's no good reason to leave them off the tally when comparing him to other players just because of a rebranding.
@@gary83uk You’re right, but like someone said they also omit others from before the Premier League.. He’s 5th overall, nowhere near the top scorer so he’s not being disrespected or anything, the four ahead of him are.. He deserves no title other than “5th highest scorer in English top flight football”, not “top scorer” like he does get, he’s far from it.
The margins for making mistakes over the last decade have been ridiculous, if you lost 4 games all season there has been an inevitability about where the title would go. But it is November and there is a long way to go yet, writing anybody off or awarding it to anyone so early is ridiculous. If the table reads the same way at the end of March there would still be enough points to fight for. So let's just take it easy hey. Regarding Liverpool, what is exciting to me is there is still a lot of room for improvement. We have given ourselves a great platform to build on and if we can get a bit of luck with injuries and maintain that composure and patience Slot has instilled there is room for us to improve and that is encouraging!
This feels like the 19/20 season again when Liverpool ran away with it if Liverpool win the next two premier League games. I can't see this team losing the title as they will only get better under slot
@@realtalk8665 that's the thing most people have missed. Liverpool haven't got out of third gear under Slot, but that's been good enough to go 5 points clear with a game in hand now. Desperate arsenal fans keep talking about Liverpool dropping off, but I'd be surprised if they don't get better as the season goes along. All the pressure's on city and arsenal now, and neither of their managers handle this well - they're far too emotional.
Its not the losses which have done us, and my head in. There have been seasons where we have lost far less games than City. If you look at the season's we;ve finished a few points shy of City, our penchant for drawing games has cost us dearly. Indeed, prior to our title win it'd been the draws which were really the bane of any LFC title tilt since 1990. So, I am always on the look out for them lol. Its interesting, with Klopp sometimes it took us a little while to click into gear. Those scrappy results in the teething process, would come back to haunt us.
Long way to go, as the last few seasons have shown, you never write off City, however, I’d rather be 5points clear with a game in hand then 5points behind City. Game at a time and see where it takes us 🙏
@@allroundthefields1096 without rodri, city are done. We saw this when Liverpool last won the league - laporte got a serious injury, Liverpool put pressure on pep and city imploded. City look old now and in need of a similar rebuild Liverpool went through two seasons ago.
As a City fan I do have a lot of respect for Gary Neville. I know he's Utd through and through, but he does give an unbiased and honest opinion here, and hits the nail on the head so to speak about everything that is wrong with City at the moment
Lets keep it real. Pep's success cannot be divorced from the money he was able to spend on his squads in Spain, Germany and England. To really gauge how good a coach he is, he has to coach a team to success that is not filled with the league's most expensive squad. its as simple as that. It is not surprising that MC is faltering this season with an aging squad. It remains questionable whether he will achieve success if he did not have the massive riches of his benefactors to spend of the squad. It is amazing how ex-players and pundits alike skirt around the money factor. Sir Alex Ferguson's success at Man U was based on exactly the same factors. As does Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Fergie was different gravy, he took Aberdeen to Europe and dislodged Rangers and Celtic, no other team has won the spl since he left. This notion that fergie was the only one spending money is garbage too, Liverpool, Blackburn, Chelsea, Newcastle, City all out spent united over certain seasons. He is the best manager the prem has seen hands down, it's just facts 🤷♂️
Ferguson nurtured youth players constantly and won the league with the likes of Tom Cleverly, Darron Gibson, Danny Welbeck, along with many many others as well as the infamous class of 92. Apart from Foden Pep hasn’t brought one single academy player into the first team.
@@EaglesNest1986 That is a fair point but they had the money to attract the best young talent and he also coupled that by raiding other clubs with Man Us riches. For example Rio Ferdinand from Leeds. Berbatov and Sheringham from Spurs. Van Percy from Arsenal. Andy Cole from Newcastle. Dwight Yorke from Villa. The list is endless. No other club could match their wages offered by Man U. So the players walked. By the way Jack Walker did the same when Blackburn won the league. Chelsea with the Russian money. It is not difficult to work out. Money buys trophies. Leicester is one exception.
@@ReverZe83 The point is that Fergie spent more than most on both transfer fees and wages during his tenure at Man U. Blackburn, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea copied the Manu Cheque Book model and also achieved success. Leicester was an exception when they won.

The minute rodri got injured reminded me of when Fernandinho got injured in the 19/20 season and they just fell off like they have this season and Liverpool were chomping at the bit to win every game and went on to win the league the same may happen again this season
Spurs are a very young team. Four or five, over 28. The rest are teenagers through to 25 years old. Postocoglu is building a squad that will play his football. And play it well. They will be a little inconsistent, but they will only get stronger, and better.
Spurs were absolutelt incredible today and did something that hasnt been done at City in... 10 years? Yet, 90% of this is sblut City... Disrespectful, to say the least...
Sorry but the truth is Spurs are not competing so as good a win as it was, it’s not going to make that much difference to where they finish whereas for City it could have a big effect. When Spurs are competing for big honours and win against a rival then you’ll see more talk about them.

Maddison got the goals but Sarr ran that midfield
Liverpool will only be considered "GENUINE" title favourites if they keep this 8 or 9 point buffer until at the very least February, if the lead dwindles away to a couple points maybe 3 or 4 by February then the pressure alone will undo them let alone City or Arsenal. Let's see

Couldn’t have said it better myself. This game at Anfield is basically identical as the one 5 years ago. If Liverpool win they go over ten points clear and it’s theirs to lose
with all the praise and raving over Pep being the best coach, and City being the best team, can someone explain to me why FOR SO LONG the media will still give him the excuse that Rodri is injured and let him off the hook for it. isn't he good enough to adapt? aren't his players good enough to know how to defend without Rodri in the team?
It’s due to Rodri being injured in the past and man city suffered. When he came back, they started winning again. That’s why. He didn’t win the Ballon D’Or for no reason.
@dead_r33d does Virgil Van Dirk’ torn ACL at the hands of Pickford in the Merseyside derby 2 or 3 seasons ago render Jurgen Klopp overrated and not as good as people make him out to be given that Liverpool crumbled thereafter early on in the season and couldn’t even make top 4, If my memory serves me well ?
Worse hes not signed a good cdm as backup since Fernandinho left… this error has been there for yearssssss hes just only paying for it now. Nottingham Forest lost both their starting CM’s within first 3 games and then went on to shock everyone and be top 4 after 10 games… they planned better than City did for injuries in the middle. Think about that. Forest recruited in central midfield areas smarter than City. They had multiple solutions… yesterday they had Sangare Danilo Anderson and MGW all out… and had to play 5,6,7th choice central midfielders away at Arsenal. Nobody will mention it.

I kind of feel bad for Shearer always having to put up with people forgetting about the 23 goals he scored when the league was called the First Division. There's no good reason to leave them off the tally when comparing him to other players just because of a rebranding.
He also gets called the top scorer In history for the same reason though, so you win some you lose some.

"don't be inconsistent", what great advice, if only Spurs thought of that before. No wonder Gary is a managerial genius 😂😂😂
He'd never do that unless he goes to Saudi for another open cheque book
I watch this and can't help thinking Gary Neville would be an unbelievable England manager, with Keano as his assistant, Carra doing the defence and Wrighty handling the forwards, and fashion choices for kit and suits 🙂..the passion, the messaging, the respect,...let's start a petition

It was Laporte not Fernandinho
Spurs are a very young team. Four or five, over 28. The rest are teenagers through to 25 years old. Postocoglu is building a squad that will play his football. And play it well. They will be a little inconsistent, but they will only get stronger, and better.

aren't his players good enough to know how to defend without Rodri in the team?
Nope.
Let them make frivolous excuses to defend their losses , as a neutral the current situation surrounding them is a sight to behold. 😂
