@almanachim7866 the main thing is she doesn't shoot anything by herself. She can launch bombs if you have those add ons when the battery gauges on the side fill, but bare bones she cant do much. Without any chips for her like sprinkler, splat bomb, inkstrike, etc. Her only real function is to warn you where the closest target/objective is with the laser sight and the Back Off Track with the CD pieces.
So yeah, yelling at her to "shoot the thing" is a fools errand lol

The minion spamming can be pretty chaotic yes but one thing I find interesting is that Overlorder's telegraphs sync to the BGM (which doesn't change tempo)

that’s what i did in my playthrough (tap ZR to the beat). that little bit gave me the chills when i heard the music come on. probably one of the best things i’ve seen in a splatoon game

So for everyone who doesn't know the Acht lore, which is fair since it was only revealed in outside media for Octo Expansion, heres your explanation.
(Based entirely on Octo Expansion external media, not anything revealed in Side Order, so no spoilers here!)
At the time of Octo Expansion, we only knew of Acht as her alias Dedf1sh and the DJ of the Deepsea Metro (unless you used her japanese name). She produced all of the music for that area. She was an up-and-coming DJ due to her "mimetic" sounding music, but suddenly all contact was lost with her. Her pursuit of breakneck perfection had led her to a certain underground facility that could help with that. According to Rassicas' translation of a Splatoon developer Q&A, "It is said that Dedf1sh wasn’t against the idea of being sanitized, and did it so that she could give up her doubts and conflicts about production and devote herself entirely to music."
In that same interview it also clarifies some unclear plot details about Octo Expansion, such as confirming that the professor that owned Judd and the professor that made Tartar are the same person. I would give it a read if you're interested.
When I finished Side Order and return to Inkopolis Square there was an Inkling with a Splatsville post saying “Welcome Home!” And it reminded me of returning to 2 after 3’s demo and all the “Welcome Home Cheater” posts 😅

If you go to the right of the lobby, into the alley where Octo Expansion used to be, you can see Iso Padre from the Metro sitting in the cafe!

It's so satisfying having a "playable cutscene" where you get maxed out in all stats and deliver the big finish, it's absolutely cathartic🤣🤣🤣

@@trickygamer555Getting to the recovery of all color chips is actually an immortal moment, so no matter how many times you die to Overlorder after Pearl destroyed the roof with her initial shout, you're fine. However, I can understand if you did have any trouble against the Overlorder, but his boss fight was semi-spoiled (as in showing its mechanic) thanks to the 1 phase "Possessed Marina" in the tutorial

Nah, getting a certain amount of a type of chip adds cosmetic effects. Like the little hook thing on his inkpack he didn't notice.
I had that scope thing and it was MASSIVE. lol

when order deploys its reefsliders, there’s a musical cue when it happens. some of the enemies (marching andante, swarming arpeggio, etc) have musical motifs as well. the names actually (somewhat) reflect what the enemies do. for example, the parallel canon (the boss that’s a bunch of metal inklings) is a boss that looks very similar to the player (hence “parallel”) and they are all a team (hence “canon,” a musical motif that means “choir” or “together”). the effort into the small things such as these are pretty damn cool.
these musical things are likely a reference to how marina was saved by the calamari inkantation. the more tech-y sounds that order makes are also probably an homage to how order was originally a bug in the memverse.
if you couldn’t tell, im a big musical nerd. seeing nintendo put in obscure musical motifs is a bit strange but i absolutely LOVE it.

I get shivers when I say this but almost _all_ of Order's attacks happen to the beat of the BGM! The only one that doesn't from what I notice is the tentacle slam
That’s actually an interesting interpretation for the “canon” part of “parallel canon.” I’ve been interpreting it as us seeing glimpses of an alternate timeline, taking the story telling use for the word “canon” where it refers to what’s considered fact in a given story. So like the bosses are some sort of glimpse at what could’ve been if Order won the Splatfest/got what it wanted whatever

You have to finish the Spire with each palette… not sure how many there are exactly, but there’s at least over 8 of them (not mentioning all of the ones I know of because palette spoilers). Aside from that I dunno what else there is to do, maybe buying everything in the shop and from Marina maybe.

IT’S LITERALLY INVINCIBLE. Splashdown can be cancelled. Imagine if he’s doing the splashdown and he gets shot by a homing bomb or a SNIPER.

He forgets he can glide away from danger and still doesn’t understand how pearl drone attacks work you need chips in order for it too do any attacks it can’t do shit without em plus you need to wait for the drone gages to fill before the drone can attack certain upgrades fill the gage faster

The whole time I just wanted to scream "INK ALL THE TURF DANGIT!" Makes it easier to run away, fills up your special meter, damage and slows down enemies (depending on your upgrades).

Makomart also has seafood on the shelves. Also… shiver rides around on a normal great white shark you know…
Since mammals are extinct the inklings get all their protein from poultry and seafood. It’s the same as how apes still exist even though we evolved from apes. They just live different lives in different habitats
Acht was in splatoon 2, they were the in universe music artist for all the octo expansion music and somewhere there was lore that they half sanitized themselves so they could only focus on their music, they changed this lore now in splatoon 3 but thats what we were told in splatoon 2, just look at any of the octo expansion music and you will see its made by deadf1sh (Achts stage name)

You know... the most of us want to see you, how you get 100%. This is where the DLC really starts. Getting with every weapon to the top, feeling how you get stronger with every hack you got from Marina, knowing, you get closer to the last locker with every key you get. In one of the Dev Diary’s there is a background pic of Maria and Acht in the same class(?)
Shark body plans have gone relatively unchanged since before trees existed on land, so the fact great whites still exist in the Splatoon timeframe isn’t that far fetched but it is funny as hell to see

The last news segment certainly suggests that Deep Cut have been in Inkopolis Square, and that’s why they’re all spacey themselves… but nah, ANARCHY
Tip for overlorder, save the special for when the tentacles that you destroy to break the barrier appear, since you can get overwhelmed with the enemys and overlorders attacks
Better Tip: Save it for after the shield breaks. Overlorder goes into hyperdrive at that point and just starts spamming attacks. The sooner you break him, the better, and more offensive specials like Triple Inkstrike can straight-up one-shot the first two phases.

I love the idea of stream highlights! Cuz I can imagine doing full runs would get repetitive and boring for you, but having chat to entertain you and cut out some of the boring bits for us would be awesome.

I have some tips for the reefsliders. They have a limited range, and their explosions physically cannot reach you at the back corners so its best to rush to them and hold your ground until its over.

Make sure to read the weapons description's more they tell u what chips are more likely to appear.
it helps predict how the max upgrades would feel (u can MAKE a hydra splatling with mini's charge and naut's recharge)
You definitely have to do every palette at least once! There’s rewards you can buy with perlz, and the chips you can get for some weapons are absolutely insane.
I just came back from finishing the DLC and seeing another person who also passed it with Roller unwillingly or by pure chance it's so funny, cause I hated it until the final boss jfjaksjak

Fun fact: When the chips upgrade in the final fight you can click on them in a certain order to play a bit of Ebb and Flow.
That's wasn't "just a shark" in the credits, lol. It's a VR world, so it's not real to them, which is also why they're going up into "space," lol. It ain't real to them
Jay idk if anyone has mentioned this but Acht is also known as Dedf1sh in the splatoon universe and is behind a lot of the music that plays during octo expansion. There's some lore that you can find about them that explains how she keeps herself sanitized for her music.

The more I take on the boss the more patient I get with the objective, at first I would run in and die so fast because I would just go straight to the portals. Turf is the biggest bonus, I’m really loving lucky bombs too!
