  • The fuel level gauge stopped working again on this Mitsubishi L300 Delica. As parts start to dry up for these older vehicles, finding ways to repair what you already have becomes more and more important. This is how we repaired a heavily worn fuel gauge sender unit.

I know nothing about cars and quite frankly could care less. But I found your video fascinating. So I think I will watch a couple more.

Nice DIY Cam! Would have never thought to try and fix a sender, but I guess sometimes you don't have a choice!

    Nice! Thanks for the guide!
I'm really curious about the airbags! Any chance you know what those are and if they're any good?

Ah that's a bugger. Annoying but there's always a solution. You might be able to drill or punch them out then make a new stud putting a bolt in the back side and using epoxy to hold it in place. If you have to drill make sure you cost the bit in grease to prevent shavings from falling in the tank.

I have an L400 1996, do you know if it has the same style of fixable sender?

Hi Jim, I've not done an L400 yet to confirm for sure, but I am fairly confident the 400 will be the same style.

Check the new for correct resistance values. If that checks out, have a look at the wiring/plugs leading the gauge. It could be as simple as a bad pin.
