Starmer inflamed the situation by saying one group needed clobbering and another group needed protecting, when he should have just said ALL lawlessness by anyone will be punished, whatever their political, religious or ethnic affiliation. His speech just reinforced the two-tier perception.

Correct, only it's not a 'perception' but a reality. I've seen it, and was shocked as I'd previously just thought it was people whingeing. Others have noted it too and they are people of reason and fairness, as much as the left/media etc. would love to paint them all as ill informed and ill educated thugs that just isn't the case.

By "taking the knee" in response to disturbances several years ago, and then reacting to the current disturbances in the way he has, Starmer has shown his true colours.
The label "Two-tier Kier" is more than apt

  • @patrickcrowther9195
    @patrickcrowther9195 2 місяці тому +139

I'm ancient enough to remember the 1981 disturbances in Brixton and Toxteth featuring predominantly black rioters. Commentators were quick to lambast them and say how terrible it all was, but other voices were also heard, arguing that the riots didn't just occur in a vacuum and that discrimination by the police and other authorities had played its part. Changes were then brought about. Similarly the current unrest in Britain's cities is being blamed on 'far-right thugs' by the Prime Minister, ably demonstrating his people skills and political acumen. It is quite obvious to anyone with half a brain that these awful scenes didn't just pop up out of nowhere. An honest, national conversation is urgent and necessary.

I have been an expatriate in several countries throughout my career and always respected the culture and customs of each country in which I lived and worked but always knew that once the “job” I was doing came to an end I would return to my home country. The issues we are discussing at present is immigration and the fact that the modern “immigrants” do not assimilate or integrate, do not respect the culture of their new adopted country but expect to create a mini version of the country they left behind and their newly adopted country to accommodate this. It does not and will never work. It creates discord and resentment as we can see already. Particularly if the authorities treat the new arrivals as a “special case” and ignore the grievances of the native population.

My god they are both so out of touch with whats actually going on.
This doesnt have anything to do with english people not being inclusive. This process the UK is going through has happened in Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Arabia, India, Turkey, Spain and the Balkans. Several times. Im an immigrant myself and english people are incredibly tolerant despite their arrogance sometimes, the fact that they allowed in cultures from all over the world to take root in their own country and tolerate them even when they been here for many generations and none of them tried to adapt is remarkable. In any other country if you dont adapt after 1 or 2 generations you get kicked out or worse. The english people should not put up with any sort of threat to their own existence, or any other country. Immigrants have the oblitation to adapt, not the other way round, and that means accepting and embracing the nations values and culture. That has not happened at all with certain communities, and that needs to be addressed

I come from the other end of the political spectrum to Paul Embery but it has to be said, he so often speaks the truth and common sense and is a good protector of the British working man, often pointing out how they always seem to have their noses rubbed in it, and especially by the modern Labour party. I forecast that this would happen with Starmer at the helm. IMO Andy Burnham would have made a far superior leader of the labour party, he has a much greater understanding of all Starmer's blind spots, of which there are many. You cannot ram N. London, metropolitan wokery down the throats of the majority of Brits, especially the working men and women. What does 'Whipping up hatred' mean exactly? Probably anything critical of Dear Leader Starmer and his regime or anything critical of multiculturalism, mass migration or the rise of Islamism. Either way unless you are directly inciting specific acts of violence online, it is absolutely insane to imply that expressing critical views and saying things that go against your ideology on social media is the same as throwing a brick at a copper or setting hotels on fire. If you want avoid a future like Lebanon or the breakup of Yugoslavia you must start by saying loudly and clearly that the long-established native European populations should remain the majorities in their respective countries. Other minorities can be treated fairly and decently, but if you don't accept the desire of the majority to remain a majority then you are in for a very rough future.

The middle class woke elite have ridiculed working class whites for decades. Its funny how Labour MPs in Asian Working class areas stand in Solidarity with them but the opposite happens in White Working class areas which are now just a sea of fast food restaurants (mainly halal) and so called Turkish barbers. The underpinning of white working class has been destroyed. Community centres, good employment, places that provide social interaction such as pubs are all gone. They have been told they are racist and been labelled as privileged when they have nothing. And they have been told that it is they who are responsible for the actions of their governments over the last few centuries. Good take. At the so-called riots in London the police cordoned off areas where protesters were not allowed leave. They held them there for hours and then started arresting random people for "inciting violence against police officers" - it was just a number game. They could then tell the press the next day "we arrested 250 people blah blah blah". Some of the folks arrested were elderly men and women; just retired working class folks letting their voice be heard. It was disgusting. For those who are interested and want to see well shot, first hand footage that is unedited of this taking place please look up Wesley Winter, an interesting young guy documenting the uprising.

Instead of closing the boarders until the UK sorts itself out, migrants are being increasingly put before English Citizens.
Has no one learnt anything from history, with so many revolutions throughout history, this is a no brainer.
Immigration has never been good, it lowers job prospects, lowers wages, increases demand on resources and it’s a myth to think migrants add value. All of Europe is demonstrating it isn’t true.

It’s a relief for me to hear such a measured and courteous discussion. Over the years my family have spoken often about how difficult it is for people to adapt to the societal changes which come with a huge influx of people who might have very different norms of behaviour. I was born in the mid 50s in Wolverhampton. The rapidity of change there gave rise to the infamous conversation between Enoch Powell and one of his constituents complaining about how she didn’t feel at home on her street anymore because of the huge and rapid change of its ‘culture’. This conversation led to Powell’s even more infamous speech in which he quoted a prophecy from the Aeneid in which the River Tiber was foreseen foaming with blood. Not a politically sensitive speech, nor many might say, a humanly sensitive speech. It touched many nerves.
We didn’t have the phrase ‘politically incorrect’ back then, but Powell discovered what it meant in 1968. I wonder if his insensitivity and his naively brutal choice of classical quotes and the reaction to them rather than to the legitimate disquiet which provoked them might have set back an open and compassionate conversation about these issues nearly 60 years?

Give preference to migrants from western and Christian countries.
Those from active warzones, accept the women and children and look after them until the war ends.
After a few years when we're more stable then we can look at loosening it again.

I lived in one of those areas for many years and it was a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. Not that the rioting over the past few days should be tolerated at all - it is completely unacceptable behaviour and they should be punished. I’m concerned however that the underlying issues will be once again brushed under the carpet and that is not what is needed. We need to have an open discussion it as Inaya rightly mentioned.

The UK mainstream media also has to play its role in public education with accurate reports. It has to correct the misinformation. The villain' s real identity which is a significant source of the problem has to be made crystal clear and repeatedly made known to the general public. Educational institutions and schools must also help in promoting racial harmony.

Certain Companies like MITIE have been making massive profits out of the Immigration crisis. They gave getting Contracts like Sweeties being handed out in a sweet shop. Two Conservative Donors who work for MITIE have donated a staggering amount to the Tory Party. We've yet to find out if Labour gave been getting these donations from MITIE. And how many MPs have shares in this Company and other Companies who have Home Office Immigration Contracts. An MP last year tried to raise the matter of how MITIE who keeps getting involved in scandals and ballsing up the Home Office Contracts keep getting them? This MP was shouted down by other MPs . The Government and MPs are making hand over fist in money. It's all about money at the end of the day. That's why you will never see the boats stopped.

Now oddly enough in recent years I've known a fair few on the left who have visited Japan and they absolutely rave about it to the point of wishing to live there. So dim witted are they that they cannot see it is such a nice place built on all the things they say are not progressive. Socially conservative, very low immigration, respectful of their culture and elderly and more besides that these same people will foam at the mouth about if tried here.
