    Looks like they built a team around Curry since - he's the only starter who's still there...

    • @manchesterunitedno7
      @manchesterunitedno7 7 років тому +161

      Change of ownership helped that case. That's why they immediately shipped Monta Ellis out, then build the franchise around SC30. The rest is history.

    • @simon_patterson
      @simon_patterson 7 років тому +65

      It certainly worked! I know he's super talented and all, but that sure is a lot of pressure for a young man to bear.

    • @manchesterunitedno7
      @manchesterunitedno7 7 років тому +43

      Well, in the case of GSW. It was unprecedented. Stephen Curry never projected to be a superstar. The majority of sport pundits and scouts back then concluded he is a solid albeit unspectacular player. He was drafted 7th overall, after Rubio and Flynn. Minnesota passed him over, twice! SMH.
      In fact, none of GSW big three were top billing draftee. Not even recent mega acquisition Kevin Durant (3rd overall). So, unprecedented was correct in term of sudden rise of GSW.

    • @bennySC408
      @bennySC408 7 років тому +35

      Projected superstars are drafted #1 or #2 overall not at #7. The majority of sport pundits and scouts back then concluded also that he was the best shooter in the draft and i believe Jeff Van Gundy said he would have drafted him #1 before the draft.
      In fact, only recent mega acquisition Kevin Durant (#2 overall behind greg oden) IS the only GSW that was the top billing draftee. LOL

    • @manchesterunitedno7
      @manchesterunitedno7 7 років тому +29

      I forgot Kevin Durant was 2nd overall, not 3rd.

      Adding a new scoring line exclusively due to one player is pretty unfair. And is kinda unneeded to add a 5 pointer cause hardly anyone makes a full court.

    2:23 - "Curry really sees the court. He's got great vision" ... 10 years later ... Curry just got contact lenses to correct his blurry vision that he's been playing all these years... 😅😅

    It's funny because all the perimeter shots he's taking are things he still does but on the 3pt line. Steph game hasn't changed much. He just became faster and stronger.

      Comic_Drips yeah! Since his first year in davidson... an excellent player, both ends of the floor... not a high leaper, but very athletic (quick and strong) ... just doesn't show with his physique, but definitely strong, contrary to popular belief... look how he took away the ball from ariza... look how he got the offensive rebound... very intelligent and most skillful and creative player... he is the only player besides drose i watched in his first us basketball team that won the world championship...
