It's a good bike when things function as intended. My bike required replacement by Wahoo the replacement was faulty on arrival sent back for refund all within 4 months! with about 30 days of emails.
@@ByGRACE- Problem turning the pedals there was a grinding noise The bike was not able to be used as it's a constant sound like something is breaking and was unusable. Replacement bike was faulty on arrival front crank on both sides slipped so as soon as you stand up to apply force on the front crank it slipped so no way to do sprints in zwift just get a KICKR v6 and cheap nice bike run zwift virtual shifting. save yourself time and problems
i had the same problem with there being a rubbing/ grinding noise inside, Then when the replacement came it had been damaged in transit and made an even worse noise so that one has been sent back! waiting for bike no3 to arrive now@@I-R0K-ZERO

My KICKR Bike Shift creaks loudly at the leg joints when I sprint. Greasing the joints helps, but only temporarily. The center of the base also potentially hits the floor.
In order to fix seatpost slipping I just bought a proper 3rd party seatpost that is a proper round tube. The problem with slipping is coming from incorrect direction of a cut through on seat post mout on the bile - it is is same plane as the facet with the ruler on the stock seatpost. That way no matter how tight the quick release is, it still can slip because the pressure coming from mount is applied to the air gap on the 'ruler' side of original seatpost. Should Wahoo make this cut through on seat post mout in the same plane with frame, then original seatpost would sit tight no problem. It is a design issue.
Hello mate, I ride with and had done around 3000 kms. I love riding with this tool, the only trouble i had is a big noise when i push more... And it's really nice to ride with
I wish the button on the top of the left shifter did something. Race Mode would be nice, and gearing display on Zwift would be great. I'm also chasing down a click, though that may be from my pedals.
Ive just got a replacement after only 3 months. Lots of creaking and grinding with grey dust showing from the crank area led to the first one being replaced. After just 3 rides I’m already getting creaking noises when I climb out of the saddle. Whilst Wahoo’s customer service is excellent I am starting to lose faith with this product
same same... mine has been already replaced 4 times!!!! this is ridiculous. Each unit had some grinding, rubbing noise coming from the internals / flywheel. My current one makes also some noise from the bottom bracket area - like someone throw a sand inside.
That network port you showed was that a port on the bike or do you have buy a separate dongle ? I would like to use a network cable directly into the my hub .
Similar experiences for me. I added the LAN-support, after loosing WIFI connection once. Changed the handlebar and tape at first day though. Perfectly happy with my decision to upgrade from an old, outstreched aluminium bike with a TACX NEO OG. Better seating position possible and much quieter.
I love mine, but as I expected with a Wahoo product there's gradually more creaking, clicking and grinding noises appearing. Some only for a short time, some longer like a clicking left crank. ERG mode isn't great, depends on your gear, which it shouldn't. Hopefully they'll sort this out with a software update and add race mode.
same same... mine has been already replaced 4 times under warranty!!!! this is ridiculous. Each unit had some grinding, rubbing noise coming from the internals / flywheel area. Not silent as many say in the reviews on YT... You can check my channel. I recorded each of my units. Now I am just too tired sending this back again and do not believe another replacement will make any change... processing the return with the seller now and i am gonna look somewhere else...
whats your thoughts comparing to tacx neo? Ive had mine 2 years now and 3 replacements due to a few issues however the biggest bugbear I have is the virtual tyre slip after 85nm of torque meaning in max sprint under load the resistance simply falls away. Im debating on buying this and selling my neo. thanks
Interesting topic to hear experiences after a longer period of use. This looks like a smart investment for someone riding a lot of miles indoor, and switching rides in the same household. However, with the current release of the Zwift Ride bike frame, and already having a Wahoo Kickr v5, one would wonder if Wahoo will be capable of making the v5 compatible to the Zwift cog by next winter, would the Zwift Ride become more interesting than the investment of the Kickr Bike Shift? Is the difference in noise level big enough to argument the price difference already partially, next to probably a slightly better ride feel on the Shift? What are your thoughts on that ?
Wahoo Kickr v5 is not getting any updates to implement virtual shifting which is not what Wahoo initially stated but which has been later clarified. Bit disappointing.
I would like to share this bike with my wife. What are your thoughts about constantly changing the setup back and forth? Will the frame withstand that „abuse“ on a regular basis?
Hi, does your Bike Shift stay on the set power in Zwift ERG mode? For me it does not. The power jumps constantly above and below the set power. My kickr v5 work perfect in Zwift ERG mode staying close to 100% solid on set power. Would be awsome to see a video when you test in ERG, so one can see how your power numbers behave. Thanks a lot for a lot of good information. Especially the seat post fix was exactly what I needed 👍
It looks like your KICKR had ERG Smoothing turned on. This is a feature the KICKRs have that keeps your power smooth on set power. You should be able to turn it on in the Wahoo app. Keep in mind, this doesn’t change how the bike behaves in ERG mode. What you are seeing now is your actual power without smoothing. Hope that helps.
I have ERG smoothing ON for both my kickr v5 and on the Bike Shift. I tested turning it OFF, for the bike shift but power number fluctuates wildly regardless of ON/OFF. Going to test some more things. So if I understand it, for you, you can see the power number being steady on the set power using ERG in Zwift with the Bike Shift?
It shouldn't massively over and under shoot on an interval though right? Even with smoothing off? I use garmin varia pedals with a tacx neo turbo and the power chart isn't a straight line but it's a lot less choppy than that. I worry the Shift has a hard time keeping a tight level of resistance. I want to buy one though.

The test fails to mention a “killer feature” that is missing: namely the downhill mode. With the Kickr Bike I can let my legs hang downhill... with the Kickr Bike Shift I have to pedal otherwise the avatar stops going downhill.
So many comments in recent months have referred to the same, basic design problems/faults with the bike. I don’t think home ‘fixes’ or the company sending replacement bikes is acceptable for something this expensive. Also made me concerned as to whether this bike would withstand 3+ years and 15,000 kms + of hard use. I decided to go for another make of Smart bike. So far 4000kms and 6 months in and no glitches/problems.
My PC is generally on the floor. In this video, I had a PC monitor in a standing Thermaltake desk. In my current setup, I’m using a 43” TV connected to my PC.

You can use furniture sliders with the shift

Hey what was the issue you had?? Thinking of getting one. Thx

Hello - where do you put the grease?
How's is it holding up otherwise?

A double seatpost clamp for 5 Dollars solved the problem at my Shift.

Great video, thank you. Do you miss the higher-end flywheel at all?
This is my main concern. I have to have it in an apt so want the quieter version , but if it doesn’t feel €3k good, I don’t want the buyers remorse.

That’s great to hear 👍
Is that a separate dongle that you have to purchase for lan support ?
You need the DirectConnect dongle: bit.ly/49AV4sW
Good review. Which do you prefer if you could only have one, the Shift or the Move?
I personally tend to to enjoy riding my bike so the Move would be my pick.

Torn between this and the stages sb20 for my first smart bike.
No comparison. The SB20 is built like a tank.
If you have had the choice would you pick the Neo smart bike (not plus) or the Wahoo shift?
So you are saying I can see my gear selection using the wahoo element computer ?? Which model bolt or roam or doesn’t matter ?
How about Race Mode ?
Not available yet.

Reusable zip ties will probably help as long it’s not too tight to cause any problems

Not that it would save any watts, but it’s puzzling to see the external wires. 😉Especially for an activity that involves a lot of sweating.

Do you need to have power pedals like the garmin rally for this bike
No you don’t. The bike measures and broadcasts power.
Hey do you think they’ll add race mode to the shift?
I hope so.

What did you go with?
Wattbike Atom 2. Its been bombproof. Now over 5000kms on it and not a squeak or problem.
What are using for your display/PC mounting?
My PC is generally on the floor. In this video, I had a PC monitor in a standing Thermaltake desk. In my current setup, I’m using a 43” TV connected to my PC.
The price in Japan is 440000¥
My bike feels like ergmode is on all The time
