Thank you for this video. I am working on this blanket right now. I don’t have one hundred colours but I made some squares with combinations of colours to make up for it. I think this also add more interest to the overall aspect of the blanket.

It looks beautiful Anja, I'm making similar squares, but center is 4 × 3 dbl cr and my corners are ch 2, and I'm also making 5 rounds.
I wish I waited for this video coz my holes are slightly bigger, but I'm almost done with my squares, only 6 left

Thank you, I like that you don’t use the UK terminology because sometimes it gets confusing even though it’s specified .

"Check to see if it is cornery enough for you" made me laugh so much because it is EXACTLY the kind of thing that I would say.
You can add a Y to almost any word and make new adjectives.

Would the square not look the same if you flipped it over each round?

    • @vegangelist
      @vegangelist 2 роки тому +2

You can turn or not turn. There is a slight difference in look when you turn the squares but turning does keep it more square.
For small squares like this, it doesn't really matter. Turning isn't necessary.
But for larger pieces, especially with color changes, turning will keep your piece looking squared off and won't create a spiral effect.
Neither is right or wrong. There are pros and cons to each.
Again, for small squares, it really doesn't matter much. The differences become a little more apparent when you are working LARGE squares or one continuous square.
However, additionally, once you join the squares, slight curvature or wonkiness will be rectified. The joining will even things out.
With a lot of wonkiness, blocking might be needed.

Hi Sandra, it depends on your tension and hook size, but mine is approximately 4.5 inches. Anja x

Cont--Even just a pack idea with enough of each colour might solve this

  • @curious9801

Could I just say. I love this idea. However, not everyone has the money to buy 100 balls!!
Perhaps you could organize a sharing scheme!

This is a blanket idea made out of solid granny squares. You don't have to have the 100 colours you can do this with whatever you have. I just happened to do it this way to show the 100 colours. You might not have the money to buy 100 balls at once but I think over time many people have bought more than 100 balls. So the bit of leftovers they have might do the trick. Although we have sold many 100 ball yarn packs.
