I planted Hawaiian Pink Guava in my yard 4 years ago. I am now enjoying the "fruits" of my labor as it produces many fruits that I enjoy eating even during the winter time, I eat about 3 piece a day when in season. The fruit is mildly sweet with a little hint of sourness. In addition, this fruit is loaded with vitamins like vitamin C and A to name a few, it almost replaces your multivitamin supplements. Truly is a super-fruit.
The guava we have here has a yellow inside, not sure what variety but ripens a lot earlier. Last fruit fell a couple weeks ago. Birds find them a delicacy
my favorite snack when I was a child I like the green one before it gets rips then dipped to rock salt. I can eat like half a kill but it's all good since it's fruit.
I wanted to ask where you get those weed/grass barriers that you put around your fruit trees, I saw bunnings have similar product but different l. Thanks in Advance
Thats a beautiful tree brother! My first guava was when I met my wife in Puerto Rico. I fell in love with them. They make all kinds of dishes with them there.
You're a lucky man, I'm feeling what you mean. I have lived my later life with an American who is more everything than anything whose life could fill volumes of books. We both love foods and fruit from tropical countries. Thanks to her and to a prior relationship I landed in gardening and travelling.
Hi George! Could you pls do a video on your cardamom plants. I bought mine from Daleys and it had turned yellow even though I'd brought it inside during winter. Hoping to learn something from you. Thanks!
I was hoping my cardamom would flower before making a video, but the chance of that in our climate is slim so I'll get on to it. Mine hasn't had yellow leaves for years as I planted it in a micro climate.
Pineapple guava (feijoa) and yellow cherry/red strawberry guavas are the most cold tolerant. Thai/Indian guava are larger fruit but require winter protection when young.
@@RealLifeFruitopia I actually have a couple of Red Malaysian Guava trees in pots that I grew from Seeds. I have them for two years now, hopefully they will start producing fruit next year. I just wish they could get as big as your guava trees but due to my climate, I can't plant them in ground...I bring them indoors during the Winter....

Yellow sounds like yellow cherry aka lemon guava, my favourite. I forget where you are.
Awesome guavas trees you have.
I love feijoas, never tried a lemon guava but hopefully will of mine one day 👍🏻

Sounds like you're a sour fruit lover, which few westerners are yet to discover. I hope to get my hands on Ambarella and Spanish lime some day.
I just bought a hawaiian guava plant from BAAG. How do you protect it from the cold in winter?
Place undercover first winter in pot, water only when dry. Can plant in ground second year.
