    Everything you say is correct, I did a lot of research in early stage of owning one back in 2021.
    Lately I used Redline Oil MTL and MT-LV which is the best for manual transmission.
    As for the Transfer case I used Driven and same to Rear Differential, on Mutol (LS) is for limited slip for circuit package GR option.

    Ich verwende seit dem ich 2500km auf der Uhr habe, Ravenol 5-W30 SP, wird ca alle 2000Km von Toyota gewechselt.
    Im Getriebe 75-W90 und in den Differenzialen 75-W90 LS beide von Ravenol diese lass ich 1x im Jahr wechseln und kann Adrianos Aussagen bestätigen. Auch die 660 Motul Bremsflüssigkeit verwende ich und wird min. 1x im Jahr gewechselt.
    Ich hatte gerade eine super Bestätigung dessen, was ich für meinen verwendet habe und was ich die letzten 2Jahre mache 👍

      Yes, I take my oil to Toyota for the warranty scheduled changes, and also I change it more on my own

    This amazing content just one question if we provide the 5w30 Motul oil than the 0w20 Motul will the dealer void warranty because it’s different from what on the oil cap?

      Thankyou! My suggestion is to ask your service dealer before: mine is happy with 5W30 (happier infact), but this may vary

    Hey Adriano, I would also like to thank you very much for posting this video!
    The information you provide is always top notch and it helps VERY much!
    I have two question to ask though:
    You said 5W30 and 5W40 is fine, personally you recommend 5W30 (right now I have the same Motul 5W30 in my car as you showed in the video).
    On what circumstances would you recommend going for a 5W40?
    Why not straight go for a 5W40?
    Next question:
    In a german GR Yaris forum there are mixed reactions about asking the dealerships to fill in other type of oil than 0W20.
    My dealership says „no problem we are going 5W30 and you keep your engine warranty.“
    Other dealerships are saying „we are not going to fill in any other oil than 0W20 or your warranty is voided.“
    Do you perhaps have a paper/document from Toyota Europe that perhaps clears up this issue?

      Hello, thankyou for your reply, I most appreciate it!
      5W30 is the best oil for all uses. 0W20 is mostly for emissions and consumption homologation.
      5W40 is more rare, only used in some race applications where they have solid cam lifters and they expect to see very high temperatures for prolonged periods!
      Unfortunately they don’t release official documentation on this, but the answer from Toyota’s motorsport team and my dealer is the same you got. The mechanics are happier with 5W30 for engine protection, as the oil film is more resistant

      I would like to ask another question that came up in my mind:
      I know (& you said) that the Torsen LSD in the front works together with the gearbox (they share the same oil as they are 1 circuit).
      Why do you go for the normal Gear 300 for the front and not for the Gear 300 LS like in the back?
      I am asking because the LS is especially made for Limited Slip Differentials and the LS can also be used for the Gearbox.

      In regards to the gearbox oil question: the Gear 300LS is a very dense oil, and the gearbox would become incredibly slow and stiff, to the point that it would not be nice to operate!

      maybe the difference in viscosity is quite small when comparing 0w20 in 80'C to 5w30 in 110'C

    I'm not sure about different viscosity and warranty, that's why I use Toyota's 0w20 SP. Are you sure we are allowed use other than specified viscosity? I do change every 5000km, hope that way I keep engine healthy and local Toyota service happy.

    Your link to Piotr's channel is broken but great video as always!!! 1 thing I'm not sure about is the viscosity of 5w30. surely in non-hot climates its not going to be a good idea? Also if there is no constant track use its a bit too much?

    Hi great video, quick question does the oil for the rear differential at 9:26 also apply for the GR Yaris Convenience model (that doesn’t have the Torsen differential) or should I be using something else? Thank you so much, there’s not much talk about the Yaris’ without the Torsen differentials so I have no idea.

      Yes, there is sooo much to talk about mate!!
      The GR Yaris non-circuit version, without Torsen differentials, can benefit from using the Gear 300 (non LS) both in transfer case and rear differential.
      This is because there are less rotating gears, therefore less heat generated

    Ciao, grazie per il video. Io ho la versione Circuit con differenziali autobloccanti anteriore e posteriore. Non sarebbe meglio inserire , sia nel differenziale posteriore che nel cambio anteriore la versione Motul Gear 300 LS 75W-90?? Grazie per la risposta

      Ciao, grazie a Te per aver seguito e per la domanda! Quanto dici ha molto senso ma, il Gear 300LS è un olio troppo viscoso per il cambio, che porterebbe ad un forte indurimento ed a possibili imputamenti. Per questo, nel cambio, suggerisco il Gear300 “liscio”! A presto

      Solo quello che ho detto sopra, puoi provare pero’ non lo consiglio perché un olio molto viscoso poi ti costringe a lavare il cambio con diversi cambi d’olio per liberartene

    Hi!! What oil temperature do you have in normal driving? Mine on the highway at 120kmh and 10° outside my oil temperature is a 100°c.. and when I srive a little bit hard on mountains roads the oil goes directly to 120°c +

      Hello mate, mine is usually in the 80s and 100 when going maximum, sometimes a bit under 120 only when above 2000mt over sea level and going 100%

      Your GR has normal temperatures for a stock car, no problems! You need to install our Hood Vents and an additional oil cooler to achieve my results!

    Just contacted my dealer, and they said Toyota approves up to 5w30 API SN Plus. So they can not change them with 5w30 API SP. What to do now?

    Sharing more oil knowledge for our GR Yaris'. Ravenol DFE 0W-20 on the G16E engine, used for 10,000 kilometers with a track day included, close to zero degradation as confirmed through an oil lab test. No need to up your viscosity I guess? Link is below.

      Don’t take it badly… You know, it is very tiring to answer all comments like yours, because there isn’t the basic technical understanding beneath to work with.
      Of course 0W20 oil works, and a good quality one will work better too.
      Simply put, the protective film of a 5W30 oil is thicker, and this is now accepted by Toyota, after much testing direct and indirect from us tuners, from Lamspeed to ACME, to Toyota Gazoo Italy and many more.
      A 5W30 will always protect more than a 0W20, especially in an engine like this one that has 3 piston squirters and is known for blow by due to piston ring float.

    Could you help me pls. For a new GR Yaris, after how many klm is it required by Toyota to change the engine oils the first time? I can't find info in the manual

      I think they say 5000km, but i would suggest to flush after 1000 and then again at 5000

    I use MOTUL 300V Competition 0W-40 oil, much better than OEM 0W-20, the oil pressure on a warm engine in the range of low and medium shaft revolutions is much higher.

      I understand, but remember that the 0W is what makes your oil film thin, therefore less protection 😅

      @@PIRASMotorsport OW is responsible for the viscosity of cold engine oil, 40 for the viscosity of hot oil, so I have better protection when the engine is warm.

      ⁠yes, this is how it works BUT, its not so simple: the lower grade viscosity has a direct impact on overall oil viscosity, thus making the 0W rated oil’s film less protective and thinner. If you wish to learn more, I suggest you watch some tests on Piotr’s channel, in description

    Im having trouble finding the api sp motul oil. The eco clean is api sn, I am not finding api sp.

      API SP is mandatory: change brand if you need to, but this is a much higher specification

    Sans compter l'huile de frein, vous parlez de 2 types huiles original mais toyota en préconise 4 types (moteur 0W-20 SP GF-6A API), (boite a vitesse LV GL-4 75W), (Boite de transfert LT 75W-85 GL-5), (differenciel arrière LX 75W-85 GL-5). Alors je suis confus!

      You are right! We decided to step up the oil in the gearbox to the same in transfer, given overheating from the torsen differential, that is why one less!

    Buona sera Andriano , scrivo in italiano perché in inglese potrei sbagliare qualche termine , io sto ancora cercando un concessionario che non faccia storie per un 5W-30 a maggior ragione qui in Puglia dove già ci sono 18-20 gradi a febbraio. Grazie per la risposta

      Ciao Marco! Non saprei in realtà: nel mio concessionario non ho avuto alcun problema affatto, l’hanno semplicemente messo, anche se mi conoscono bene e sanno che non farei nulla per danneggiare la mia auto… se proprio non trovi, puoi mettere uno 0W20 di alta qualità, andrai bene lo stesso!
      Quello che mettono in Toyota è li stesso delle ibride da città e si degrada molto velocemente

      @@PIRASMotorsport si ahimè ho notato che è lo stesso delle vetture ibride , tanto è vero che faccio il tagliando ogni 6 mesi o 5.000km oppure subito dopo un track day dato che l’olio si degrada molto facilmente . Il problema che loro tendono a storcere il naso se porto io l’olio … tanto è vero che volevo acquistare o quello della Motul che tu stesso hai mostrato nel video o il Pakelo . Non so devo provare a cambiare officina Toyota e sentirne un’altra per capire se è fattibile o mi fanno storie pure lì

      @@PIRASMotorsport anche perché ho una mail di Toyota Motor Italia in cui mi danno l’ok ad usare un olio con specifica da libretto ma diverso dal loro … però rimane il fatto che uno 0w-20 con le temperature che raggiungiamo noi in primavera estate non so quanto possa essere protettivo per il mio motore

      @marcoportaluri6642 per la protezione in generale non mi preoccuperei, più che altro e’ la pressione molto bassa a caldissimo ed il film più sottile rispetto al 5W30

      @@PIRASMotorsport I have owed the car since new July of 2023 and now I have 23k miles. I change my oil every 2500 miles and have done 9 oil changes already with 0w 20 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum which is a API SP ILSAC GF6-A oil. I guess I will try 5w 30 same brand Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w 30 same API SP with ILSAC-GF6-A specification. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is a borate ester very good premium oil. My oil analysis came back from the lab perfect.

    For the haters that say only Toyota 0w20 oil can be used. My UK manual says...that grade is "Recommended" i.e not absolute.
    It says Toyota genuine oil is used in your Toyota vehicle Toyota recommends the use of Toyota genuine oil. Then says...Another motor oil of matching quality can also be used. And says e
    ither API snplus or SP.

    That car have 10 years waranty Toyota, why it is a problem to run with that 0w20 oil. If people get there engines run bad, and create some issues it its for Toyota to solve it out. Many Modern engines run on tin oil, its a evolution in design of internal parts that get better and better. Bmw M cars with a three liter six cylinder with almost 500hp run on 0w30, so why not a Yaris GR on 0w20.

      Because
      - the Gen 1 car has an issue with piston rings gaps, that when thermically stressed have brought to mega-blow by in various occasions, the most famous is ACME’s development car.
      - oil pump can limit oil pressure with bypass, but can’t help low oil pressure idling after heavy driving at 0.3bar on 0W20 oil.
      All the top tuners, and most rally teams are using 5W30 for these reasons, and they change oil with much higher frequency than average road drivers.
      If you just street your car on Oem settings 0W20 will be fine, but if you are pushing thing in performance (power) and driving, you will want to consider minimum top quality 0W20 or a very good Api SP 5W30
