- In this Video, i'm gonna show you the baffled oil sump we're using for 2024 and how that might save your engine from oil starvation or oil pressure loss.

Do not grind the plates. It will effect the overall result. In the instructions it shows to bend it slightly to clearance the ribs in the factory oil pan.
did mine recently - biggest task was to get the original oilpan off as it was very tightly glued (3hrs?). then cleaning the surfaces and adding the assembly to block maybe 2hrs. Left it rest over night (12hrs) before adding oil to engine. took 2x what I expected but that seems to be normal with GR... Use good tools and sealant. instructions are good and includes all torque specs needed.
Thank you Phil! I have to do this mod on my next engine 😂
Very informative edit of engine failure 👍
Does this solve oil pressure dropping by 1 bar at high RPM's after installing an oil cooler?
@@mixxeerr have a look at the data plots with our oil pan:

My engine has no mods yet and I'm looking to do this and cooling solutions first.
My only question and concern I have is
1. What is the torque spec for the bolts inside the oilpan?
2. What type of RTV to use?
Thank you for posting this video!
1. Answers can be seen in the Toyota Tech Handbook. Just have to pay to get access. It‘s 4€/h
2. The one you have access to. There are 100‘s of these and as long as it‘s specifically for sealing oil pans, you‘ll be fine.
Thanks. I did see a few floating around and just wanted some hardline tried and true specs. @@RotheliRacing
When you purchase the part from myself, it includes the instructions with torque specs.
Thank you @@lamspeedracing5024 ! Planning to purchase this in the next month or so from Austin, Texas.
Neat parts
I wonder if you will see any starvation at high RPM as the oil has to get through those doors? I assume the rubber doors will soften with heat but it looks to me like they form a major restriction to the oil flow returning to the pick up? Just my 2p.
I don‘t think that when the oil presses with 3-4bar against these flaps, that it‘ll have any issues whatsoever.
@@RotheliRacing but the oil pressure will not be there when the oil is returning to the sump, there is only gravity bringing it back to the sump. I’m sure it will be fine, but if I fitted those baffles to mine I would keep a very close eye on high rpm oil pressure for the initial test.
@@NigelsModellingBench good Input. Will have an eye on it. 👍

Which company does this part? lamspeed?
Yes. Manufacturer is Lamspeed.
We do sell them too.
@@RotheliRacing thank you, installed in mine recently.
the price is almost double as in AUS. is it the shipping or the customs what make it so expensive in your shop? no offence, just curious.
Bank Fees, Shipping, Handling, VAT, Customs, direct availability, Time, Profit.
Hi where did you get the parts & Brand?
Manufacturer is Lamspeed in Australia.
@@RotheliRacing ok Thanks i know of Them it must be New i never saw it on the website
It's been on our website for a few months now. 🙏🏼
Plastic gates? I wonder what their lifespan is??
@@heathlett275 it‘s rubber. Their lifespan will be at least a couple years.
@@RotheliRacingid never put that in mine if that's the life Span. Very easy to make one with steel gates. Great video, thankyou
