A lot of work stripping down that rear and rebuilding it. Chris is doing a fine job on that. Once Elaine is roadworthy and you start expanding your fleet the profits might take care of the business needs. Wish you luck on the expansion. Keep on truckin' 👍
At 18, my first used car looked good (1977 Grand Prix) but ran poorly. My new rule for cars at that point was cost to buy plus cost of tires plus $2000 and a few trips to the mechanics for tools I did not have. The rule saved my life a few time when it came brakes and bearings. After a year or so I started saving for a transmission. Over a few years most of the car was replaced except the 'Made by Fisher" body. I figured if it still got me to and from work I didn't care how it looked. I also didn't let the little head do my thinking.
Nice fix good for safety, dot, and downtime in the future. Yup i had a rear main seal laking on a car engine. Decided to get ti fixed, i ordered the cork seal OEM from Plymouth. the mechanics really liked it as it fit perfect. The front was leaking so they ordered the aftermarket to finish the job the same day. but it worked. Real seals make a difference.
Hey Steve! I bet Orwell is a little more comfortable than before! Love your videos always. We have a truckers jamboree in July in Walcott at the I80 truck stop we’ll let you know exact dates when it’s posted would love to see you and Jen and Orwell (if possible)
Great video Steve glad to see the rears on Elaine had lots of bad parts. But some good parts wheel bearings and no metal in the oil. Chris has done a great job tearing down the brakes and bearings on the rear of Elaine. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Steve and Chris.
I forgot @everyone December 7th was Pearl Harbor Rememberance Day, thank you to everyone that has served, given the ultimate sacrifice or is serving now or will be. My son Anthony served in the 88th mech at ft sill and went through fort lost in the woods. Thank You for your service Steve
Steve just love your channel, can you do more repairs videos but not for getting Orwell trucking side of deliveries, keep up your good cool work with your brilliant new merchanic.
Hi: Have you ever thought about putting one of those new high efficency camping fridges in Orwell? that way you can take healthier prepare meals and food with you instead of that crap you usually find in truck stops? I know their expensive but like your green apu couldn't the convince and advantages of even a small a 12v top load condenser fridge/freezer make it worth the cost?
hell buying a gallon of simply orange that you could pour into a thermos for while you drive could probably save you allot of money while you drive itself. Just strap the fridge to the front seat or passenger footwell and plug it into the cigarret lighter if you don't have room?
See 👀 Orwell in the comfy shop there, yes parts on a used truck do have to be replaced even for safety reasons...when I hear about the bushings, what comes to my mind is green bushes in my mind 😀.
🍭SWEET🍭The beginning shot of Orwell sliding into the other lane didn’t look like a very good situation!!!!! Hope you & Orwell are OK!!! Now I’m not going to be able to sleep😩Stay safe Steve🙏🏼💖👍🏻🇺🇸🌞🌲
Once you and Chris get the freightliner road worthy , take it out on a load and let Chris touch up the paint on Orwell. All of your other equipment is getting fresh paint, 😂 poor Orwell
There has been a lot of maintenance done on Orwell recently.Let's hope that he will cost less for a while so there will be money left over for the other trucks ❤❤❤
Hey Steve, how are the frame rails for the Ford coming along. I know you said you would give us an update a few episodes ago. Not sure if i missed the update.
thats smart not converting that engine and just getting it running, would be cheaper to get a rebuilt engine in a crate for that like a 400 big cam cummins or a 3406b for it than to convert that engine.
Hey how are you doing today on this beautiful day and I like watching your UA-cam videos and they are very educated and my Christmas to you and your family
Why don't you fix that old freightliner, and get another cabover and get that on the road. Not the one already in the shop, there so iconic. I drove one for quite some time And always got a good look from everyone
How is the ROI looking now ? I understand and agree with a pre-def fleet but if you wrap $20k in making it road worthy above the cost of the rolling chassis is it worth it ?
@@fsctrucking When I see the comments from people trying to say you wouldn't have to spend money on things like the suspension parts that you replaced at both ends of Orwell, I can't help wondering if they watched the videos that you released during the summer of 2023. To be more specific, I refer to the problems you encountered with the first of the 2 Tractors you borrowed in order to meet delivery obligations when Orwell's ring gear broke off out of nowhere (substandard part when you replaced all of the clutch and flywheel when Orwell's transmission failed in 2022). Did they pay attention to your observations of how all of the various anti-smog parts leave owners of these modern California approved trucks stranded because the modern shops cannot timely get the parts to repair these tractors and get their customers back on the road earning money? I hope you put at least a 13 speed transmission in Elaine before you put her out on the road earning money.
Proper attention to detail to ensure you get decent service before going in there again. Cliffhanger - things must be going to get worse on another video
be cool if mr chris go down to the local diesel school and teach.or go find him a 18 yr old that whats to do truck repair after kid gets out of school 12.00 a hr chris could teach him like me the old man i was teamed with welding asked me one day are you planning to get my job i said yes . ole boy showed me ever trick but busted my balls most days 10 yrs later i asked him what he thought of my skills he looked me in the eye jr your a boss i said thank you for teaching me.
Chris is a great addition to FSC he is a great Mechanic and gentleman like you !! Good luck with everything.
I’m very impressed with Chris. He’s a humble man. He’s very competent, but he doesn’t have an overinflated opinion of himself.
Chris is a gem and great addition to the channel.
Steve and Chris are building FSC Trucking Empire one stone at a time ❤❤❤
Hey big Steve Chris seems like one helluva good mechanic and a cool dude. Glad he's with you man. You deserve it brother 👍
Sold my 3406b & bought 6nz.
I enjoy the shop repair videos a ton👍🏻.
It was nice chatting with you on the radio the other day for a minute.
Can't wait to see Elaine running again. Bringing her back is a major job.

I hear nothing but good reviews about the talented people at Area Diesel Services. 👍
Elaine gets one step closer to the road every week ❤❤❤
Chris is a real worker I hope he stays with it.
This ain't his first rodeo for Chris. He's made all-around cowboy over and over. Practically every day. Top hand kind of guy.
i like that your using the big picture approach on the frieghliner leaving no stone unturned
Great video Steve! Really enjoy seeing the shop work. Hope to see Elaine on the road soon.

Put RevHD seals in it. Best wheel seal on the market!
Hi, check the water pipe on the lower right side of the radiator. They can rust through. Freightliner started offering them in stainless.
Wow cliffhanger with the truck sliding. Great video though with the work going on. Stay safe
It's good to see Elaine getting road ready

Cool❤
When are you going to use that blue trailer that you recently fixed up or are you saving it for the other truck?
I think you should put straight stacks on the truck
Hey Steve, how are the frame rails for the Ford coming along. I know you said you would give us an update a few episodes ago. Not sure if i missed the update.
Orwell needs a nice new Peterbilt badge on the front of it the one that's on there is looking a bit past use by date😅😂
Howdy howdy yall it's looking alot like Christmas
I wasn’t even there and I can still smell that old gear oil
Did you get a new seat for Orwell ?
What do you have tall rubber on the steer axle and low pros on the drives???
I think you should start a new channel called FSC Junk yard.
Maybe a local pdr guy can get those wrinkles out of the sleeper ??
Still no new boots for Chris, bet they fit real comfy. New roll duck tape much cheaper.

Chris shuddah given you something to do !

Hey how are you doing today on this beautiful day and I like watching your UA-cam videos and they are very educated and my Christmas to you and your family
ask Mr. Chris if he ever saw a truck with a air starter . his thoughts on why a rig was ever built
What's the core charge on those parts?
Why don't you fix that old freightliner, and get another cabover and get that on the road. Not the one already in the shop, there so iconic. I drove one for quite some time
And always got a good look from everyone
Did you get it stopped??
That looked like an oh shit moment Hopefully everything worked out the Jeep going by looked like it made it past
Hell I keep spare gaskets in the glove box
You sure put a lot of time and money into all this old worn out equipment.

Sure is. $300,000.00 is alot gor a new rig. $280,000.00 buys lots of parts and diesel.
