I agree with many, that this is the greatest rock n roll song ever. It’s interesting how when the song ended, you commented on how it made you feel, and think, rather than just the music… That’s what makes a great song.
I knew Robert Plant pre Led Zep. We come from the same small town in the Black Country and he would often come down to our blues club. He was always willing get up onstage and jam with us. Off stage he is quietly spoken and quite shy. He still lives in the area, albeit a much larger place in the countryside!
Can’t imagine him shy, but I’ve heard he’s so nice & down to earth, he has a great sense of humor too. My favorite singer, with his amazing range tone & textures, I know it doesn’t come as easily for him these days though. I’m glad he’s still doing what he loves, & he shared it with all of us, he made the best choice choosing his music.
That's so cool. I'm not of that generation, but in the late 80s i worked a restaurant and one of the guys i worked with also worked as a DJ in a local club in Seattle. When Robert Plant was in town, i think i was around 1988, he stopped at that club and volunteered to perform and jumped up on stage (this was after his concert at the local arena) and performed a couple of songs. Obviously everyone there loved it and the guy i worked with wouldn't wash his hand for a week (he shook robert's hand).

In the age we are still in where the top songs are 3-4 maybe five minutes long, imagine the effect Zeppelin and Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon),commercial radio was in a turmoil. I remember. I agree with what you are saying.
Amazing to see someone experience Stairway to Heaven for the first time. For many people, this song is the greatest of all classic rock music. Or to say it another way, what song is more recognizable, or had more impact, or is more representative of 1970s classic rock, than Stairway to Heaven? I can't think of one. I hope you like it 👍😁
Your entire demeanor changed when Plant's voice soared in after one of the most famous guitar bridges, ever. 😄 This is regarded by many as the greatest rock song of all time, and that's arguably true. However, the *band's* favorite is the song, "Kashmir," which is also my personal favorite rock song of all time. You should given that one a listen, as soon as you can. Go with the studio version first -- it has more magic than the live versions (which are great in their own way, but not the same). Money makes life easier, and buys *pleasures* , but our relationships with people we care about -- and who care about us -- really make us happy. In this song, the band contrasts a material existence ("The Lady who's sure...") with a more spiritual one ("The Lady... who shines white light and wants to show..."). Moreover, they say the way to cure the distractions and obsessions with money requires that we get back in touch with the natural world ("The Piper will lead us to reason..."). As an atheist, I don't really buy "spirituality" -- to me, it's all human psychology and mental well-being, and nothing supernatural -- but do agree that an obsession with material existence is shallow, ultimately pointless, and can motivate people to cause great harm to others. I do like how quickly you recognized the themes. All that said, this is a fine song and I never tire of hearing it. I also enjoy seeing people experience it for the first time. Try "Kashmir," though.
Every time I see a young lady react to this (or "Child, in Time", "Dark Side of the Moon"), I quietly think "Sweet lady, you have no idea what is about to hit you!" Never failed, so far 😀
I am a musician and an artist. Between 1960 and 1985, I regard the rock and roll genre as a period when general emotions such as rage, confusion, and enlightenment reigned supreme. These flares of mind tempered and inspired many visionaries to explore those very elements of human thought. Yet, as the Hindu Yugas predicted, a degradation of mankind with his creations has ensued, and this to even include the Arts. On the other hand, there are survivors to the lunacy, and there are survivors to the whole!
So glad you loved it. Wow, the generation gap is rearing it's head! I've heard this song hundreds of times since my 70's childhood. Led Zeppelin is one of the most famous rock bands of all time, and this song one of rock's biggest anthems. Many many Zeppelin songs worth listening to. Keep on!
Watching your reaction to one of the greatest rock songs ever!! It was awesome 👏. I also never took my eyes off of you as i very much realized your amazing beauty 😊
It's funny because I think I just watched your Lynyrd Skynyrd Simple Man reaction, and I made the comment in there that indeed it was a band and it's actually one of the most iconic bands in rock music history. Well it's right there with Led Zep. Both of them are these towering giants, and they were both kind of ahead of their time, and they both influenced lots of music to come. Led Zeppelin exploded on the scene in the late sixties and who are huge through the 70s before John bonham, one of the greatest rock drummers ever, died tragically at an early age and that ended the band, kind of similar to the plane crash ending Lynyrd Skynyrd as we knew them. It's such a deep rabbit hole but they really had tons of hits, and then even things that weren't hits, we're just so good. They were so creative and so good at what they did and they were cutting edge at the time.
As the years fly by, sometimes you don't realize just how old you've gotten. Then......someone says they've never heard Led Zeppelin and that's when reality sets in.

Now that you have heard the original, it is time to hear, Heart - Stairway to Heaven Led Zeppelin - Kennedy Center Honors HD
you should react to the live version - gives a whole different perspective to the mastery of these 4 fantastic musicians
Always the last song at our high school dances in the 70s and early 80s
So next time you walk past an 80 year old remember…it was their generation that made this.
you 100% need to see them live, best rock ever!
This is from 1971. Play the live one from MSG 1973!
Greatest band ever and Stairway to Heaven my absolute favourite. Its like photo shop just layers and layers building up to a fantastic finish
Every time I see a young lady react to this (or "Child, in Time", "Dark Side of the Moon"), I quietly think "Sweet lady, you have no idea what is about to hit you!" Never failed, so far 😀
Makes this 55 year old rocker smile watching a new generation hear this.
Listen to “Hearts”version performed at the Kennedy Center honoring Zeppelin.
i saw then in 1969 on their 1st US tour. They played at my alma mater on May 10th.
Zeppelin - Since I've been loving you
I am a musician and an artist.
Good one.Their, Whole lotta of love was the signiture tune for Top Of The Pops in the seventies.
Keep on!
Greatest Rock song By the Greatest Band ever!
