  • How do you select your MBA recommender? A great recommendation can make all the difference in your MBA application, but it isn’t always obvious who your best recommenders would be or how you can help them write an awesome MBA recommendation.
This week, Angela Guido talks about the all-important MBA recommendation letter: who to choose as your MBA recommender, what recommendation tips can you give them, and how you end up with recommendations that rock.

Given our cultural move towards gender neutrality, the Recommended Cheat Sheet begins with the salutation of "Dear sir or madam:" so might it begin with “Dear Admissions Committee” or something not gender specific? Looking forward to your response and recommendation for the salutation.

OMG you're so right! The world has changed so much since I first created that content. Definitely should be "Dear Admissions Committee". It's fixed now in our template. If you see any more of these lemme know! THANK YOU! XX - Angela

Thanks for the knowledge, I currently work as a network engineer for a construction company. However, I'd like to know if it's acceptable to obtain a recommendation from someone in a different professional role inside the same organization, such as an accountant.
In addition, only the top employee in my organization has access to corporate mail. My supervisor has already written his letters, but I'm concerned that the use of Gmail or Yahoo! for my second recommendation might raise a red flag.
Please, with your expertise on the matter. I'll greatly appreciate your response.
    Thank you

      Short answer: yes!
Long answer: we have a video on tricky recommenders - ua-cam.com/video/Gd_RBV-eZ7Y/v-deo.html
The second question ties into the first - it isn't ideal, but if you have to, you have to.
      Good luck!
