    Can I go to the head of department of my previous employer? Or is thier any point which needs to be considered for opting this approach?

    I work in a startup where most are below 35. My recommendation might not be strong if they are expecting LORs from someone with experienced. What do you suggest

      Saranya Ananthakrishnan as long as it is coming from your supervisor, it should be fine. I had to fill out several letters of recommendations and forms related to it and they have never asked for the age or anything like that from me. The schools will never know the age of recommenders :-) As long as they behave professionally and mature, you should be just fine.
