This video was randomly surfaced to me. Fascinating seeing an arborist work.

Well thanks for giving me your time and attention🙏
I try to simplify my videos so that can still be relatable for someone who doesnt/hasn't climbed & removed a tree before. Thanks for watching & thanks for the comment

    Good video and good job!
In similar situations, when a futher ascending isn't safe anymore I use the telescopic pole pruner Stihl HT101 with a telescopic shaft. And another telescopic shaft to put the rope on the limb. It allows me to cut long limbs per small parts and lower them down to the ground. A very useful tool.
    Good luck and stay safe!

I was in a tree that had a rotten cavity about 40 feet up. When I tell you every cut I made above it could have been my last… scariest day of my life. We all have that one tree

Bet you felt like you could walk on water when you finished & got down. It's something 99.9% of humans will never understand, & I appreciate you watching & leaving a comment

@@StihlChainsaws believe it or not it was the first tree I ever climbed. My buddy and I started a tree service and he had some trees in his backyard that needed to go. Both of us needed the practice but we couldn’t tell how bad it was until I got up to the cavity and in my mind there was no backing down. I knew eventually we would encounter this on other jobs and I wasn’t experienced or mature enough to back down in that moment. There is no shame in saying you’re not comfortable to do something and I know that now. Fear is what keeps you alive! Anyways I did have a 15 minute panic attack in the top of that tree. There was no other tree to tie into nearby, except the other leader coming off the rotten union below. I knew that the rotten one I was attached to had to go first so we had to be very careful of the forces we put on that tree as we were rigging. What would have been a 5 hour job for us took 8-9 at the end of the day. I had bruises on my shins from wearing the spurs all day.

Been in many trees that play mind games with you. Not a good feeling.
